Pokken Tournament Trademark Shows NFC Support

The Pokemon Company has filed a trademark for Pokken Tournament in Europe and the trademark description shows that the game may feature NFC support. The trademark mentions "near field communication (NFC) technology enabled devices, listing key chain tags, key chains, key fobs, key tags, key rings and key holders, and figurines. Could amiibo support be coming to Pokken Tournament ? Could the game be coming to the Wii U or NX ? We’ll just have to wait to hear an official announcement from Nintendo.

UPDATE - 8/21/15 - Nintendo and Bandai Namco have announced that Pokken Tournament Will be coming to the Wii U in Spring of 2016. you can read more about that here. 

Pokken Tournament Coming To A Dave & Buster’s Near You

The American restaurant/Arcade, Dave & Buster’s, has confirmed that they will be holding location tests for Pokken Tournament. The news was revealed during a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread during which Kevin Bachus, Senior Vice President of Entertainment & Game Strategy at Dave & Buster’s, stated that they will be testing the Pokemon based fighter at their outlets. “Yes. We will be testing Pokken. Candidly both NAMCO and I are more optimistic about that title and our typical guests than Tekken.” No info on when we can see Pokken Tournament in Dave & Buster’s but here’s hoping its soon. 

Blaziken Joins The Roster For Pokken Tournament

The Pokemon, Blaziken has been added to the Pokken Tournament roster via the latest issue of Famitsu. It was actually Blaziken and Lucario in the original teaser for Pokken back in 2013 at the Pokemon Game Show. Since then, we haven't seen anything on Blaziken in the game till now. 

Blaziken was the first Pokemon the development team wanted for the game when Pokken Tournament was starting up. The team says they worked hard on creating a character that will be both easy to use and fun to play, thus Blaziken is in the game. Blaziken will join the roster for Pokken Tournament sometime in August of this year. Pokken Tournament comes out July 16 for arcades in Japan. Pokemon + Tekken = Pokken Tournament

The Pokemon Company announced Pokken Tournament, which looks like a new fighting game based on the popular Pokemon series. This is the game that the company teased last week, saying it would represent a shocking announcement. The development team for the Tekken series is responsible  the new Pokemon fighting game. "Whether you are a causal player, a regular player, or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokemon can have fun," said by Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. Pokken Tournament is planned to be released in Japanese arcades for 2015. No word yet on the possibility of a Western release or on consoles.
