H1Z1: Battle Royale Coming Out Of Beta On PS4 On August 7

The PlayStation 4 version of H1Z1: Battle Royale will be leaving open beta and officially launching on August 7 as a free-to-play game.

Daybreak Games announced several new additions coming to the game at launch:

• Two new weapons, the RPG and the SOCOM Sniper Rifle
• A new vehicle, the ARV, which seats up to five players
• The Season 1 Battle Pass, which allows players to unlock content through either free, premium, or PS Plus reward tiers
• The Hardline Deluxe and Viper Starter launch bundles

Daybreak Games also announced improvements to movement, weapons, airdrops, and loot distribution.

H1Z1 Getting An Open Beta On PS4 In May

Daybreak Games has announced that an open beta will be coming to the PlayStation 4 version of H1Z1 in May. In addition to adjusting to the controls for console players, Daybreak says it's reworked the UI and equipment collection, removed crafting, and sped up the overall flow of matches.The game will run at 60 FPS on PlayStation 4 Pro. The open beta starts on May 22, but a closed beta begins later this month. You can sign up for that by registering here.

H1Z1 Is Now Free To Play

Survival shooter H1Z1 is now free to play. The move to free-to-play goes hand in hand with the title's announcement of the inauguration of the H1Z1 Pro League featuring 15 Esports teams. H1Z1 players who got the game in Early Access are getting an Appreciation Pack complete with: a gasrunner hoodie, bloom survivor T-shirt, splinter camo ARV, 10 victory crates, and 10,000 skulls.

H1Z1 Leaves Early Access, Adds Auto Royale Mode

The founder of the Battle Royale genre, H1Z1 is leaving early access after 2 years in the in-development category once the game split into two different projects. The officially released version adds a vehicle combat battle royale mode titled Auto Royale that pits 30 teams against each other in a map surrounded by ramps, oil slicks, turbo boosts, and more.
