Metallica’s Cancelled Video Game Is An Open World Twisted Metal

Back in 2003, an unannounced Metallica game was in development by Black Rock Studios that was unfortunately cancelled. The game was to be titled Damage Inc.: Metallica, or something like that, an official name was never given. It was supposed to be a driving game set in a post-apocalyptic world and PtoPOnline has now uncovered previously unreleased footage from the game (which you can see below). The game is centered around vehicular combat, where you would be able to swap out and customize your vehicle, and you could even get out on foot and hijack other cars. The game was set to release on the PS2, Xbox and PC. Vivendi Universal was set to publish the game, however PtoPOnline believes licensing issues were a major reason why the game was never released.

Metallica Drummer Excited To See Where Apple Music Takes The Music Industry

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has said that he and his band are on board with Apple's new streaming music service, and that he feels confident the company's leadership can take the business in the right direction for music fans. "I think that Apple is just about the coolest company in the world," Ulrich said, according to the New York Post. "I am a huge supporter of Apple and all their products, and I have been fortunate enough to meet most of the people there, a lot of the people who make key decisions, and I feel very safe with them." Ulrich added that his band is primarily concerned with making its music more accessible to fans. "Ultimately, this is about getting the music out to the fans and we feel safe," Metallica's endorsement comes as Apple changed there minds for its Apple Music service that saw many artists, including megastar Taylor Swift, pan the company's policy of not compensating rights holders during Apple Music's 3 month free trial period. Apple eventually relented, and announced over the weekend that it will indeed pay royalties while users evaluate the new offering. Apple Music will launch on June 30 and will have a 24/7 worldwide streaming radio channel, called Beats 1. Isn’t it kinda weird that Lars Ulrich came out of nowhere to say this ? I mean Metallica wasn’t always the greatest fans of Apple’s music services as they criticizied iTunes’ track based sales model as “contributing to the demise of the album format” and only allowed there music to be sold on the iTunes in 2006, which was a few years after iTunes launched. iTunes sales outside the U.S. didn’t happen until 2008. But I’m sure with a band like Metallica coming out and endorsing Apple Music will definitely help the service when it launches. What do you think ?
