Rising Thunder Gets A New Lease On Life With Community Edition

Rising Thunder, an indie fighting game that never made it out of its first beta test in 2015, is releasing a "Community Edition" of the game to let fans of the game keep it running despite its death. The fighter was first pitched as an accessible fighting game that focused on reading your opponent over execution. The former Rising Thunder team has announced that they are releasing the latest internal build of the game, which includes online play and local play, but there's no characters or stages that weren't available in the last beta. Additionally, the team is releasing the source code for the servers, allowing the community to tinker with and improve the rudimentary matchmaking server being released with the Community Edition. Rising Thunder: Community Edition will be released for free in January on PC. The Rising Thunder team also mentioned that they have a new project in the works and will announce it "when the time is right." Thoughts ? I really enjoyed the the little time I had with the game and with the community having the source code, the skies the limit for this.

Riot Games Acquires Radiant Entertainment

League of Legends developer Riot Games has acquired Rising Thunder developer Radiant Entertainment. Radiant has been working on 2 titles. Stonehearth, a voxel building game and Rising Thunder, a competitive robot fighting game spearheaded by fighting game veteran Seth Killian. Stonehearth will remain in development, but the Rising Thunder alpha is closing on March 18. This is extremely sad to hear as a Rising Thunder fan. As a person who was all that good at fighting games, Rising Thunder made me feel fairly good at a fighting game. With its east to understand controls and fun game play. It will surely be missed. What do you think of Riot Games Buying Radiant ?

Rising Thunder Is Now In Open Alpha

The free to play PC fighting game Rising Thunder has made its alpha test open to all. This means that anyone who visits the games website and has a compatible version of Windows can register the fighting game and play for free. If you haven't played Rising Thunder yet, you should get it a try. It's a really fun fighting game. A fighting game with robots and easy to understand inputs, what more could you ask for ?
