Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Has An Exclusive Mode For Nintendo Switch

The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection comes out in a few months and it contains the original Street Fighter, 5 versions of Street Fighter II up to Super Turbo, 3 Street Fighter Alpha games and Street Fighter III Third Strike. The Nintendo Switch version has its own exclusive mode in Street Fighter II which is detailed below.
“The Switch version also has an exclusive mode using Super Street Fighter II’s tournament mode, letting players with multiple Switch units put them into table top mode and play musical chairs by physically moving to the right unit for the next fight. While this does let the tournament move fairly quickly by making the fights proceed concurrently, it can also be kind of a confusing mess figuring out which system and controller you need to be at for your next match.”

Street Fighter II Getting A Special Re-Release For The SNES

Capcom and iam8bit are celebrating Street Fighter’s 30th anniversary with a special limited-edition re-release of Street Fighter II on the SNES. The re-release will ship in late November and only 5,500 units will be available worldwide. The official page for the re-release has more information on its contents, and it is also where you can buy it. Here’s what they say:

“Featuring one of two colored cartridges, each housing the original game code and fully playable on NTSC consoles – but that’s just the beginning! The “Legacy Cartridge Collection” embodies retro-inspired luxury, amplifying the core SNES box design with a glistening foil sheen, delicately embossed texture, chic spot varnish and an innovative tri-fold cover that opens to reveal bonus vintage art. Inside, we’re keeping it old-school by restoring the contents of the original instruction booklet, complete with a new archival cover print + secret pack-ins (to be revealed when you crack that shrink-wrap seal)”.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers Is Coming To Nintendo Switch

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers is coming to the Nintendo Switch!
For the first time in nearly 20 years, since Super Street Fighter II, two new characters join the fight; Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. This version of Ryu has succumbed to the Satsui no Hado and is now obsessed with fighting in order to prove he is the strongest. His former honorable self has been purged, allowing him to enjoy absolute power and embrace an unquenchable bloodthirst for battle.
Violent Ken is the result of M. Bison kidnapping and brainwashing Ken, enhancing his abilities with Psycho Power and twisting his brotherly rivalry with Ryu into hatred. Violent Ken is more ruthless, aggressive, and fearless with moves that feature purple flames instead of his signature fire.
Choose between classic pixel-art graphics for a retro nostalgia trip, or enjoy HD graphics created by UDON Entertainment.
Utilizing the system’s unique Joy-Con controllers, players can challenge each other in Arcade Mode, or team-up to both fight against the CPU at the same time.

Nintendo Switch TV, Tabletop, and Handheld modes allow you to play Ultra Street Fighter II at home or on-the-go with brand new single-player and multiplayer modes. More information and details on these modes, along with confirmed pricing and release timing, will be shared at a later date. Check out the trailer below.
