Nightdive Studios has launched a Kickstarter for a remake of System Shock. According to there Kickstarter, the game will be a "complete remake" of the original title, built using the Unity Engine. The Kickstarter goal is set at $900,000 and at the time of this posting, the campaign has already raised over $85,000. If you pledge at least $150 will receive the Big Box Collector's Edition, which includes the game's soundtrack, a collectible handbook, patch and pin, as well as a steel DVD case and repair bot figurine. Also, a pre-alpha demo that represents the look and feel of what the studio wants to achieve with the remake is now available for download through Steam, Humble Store and GOG.com.
