Nintendo Has Applied For GameCube Trademarks
Nintendo has registered for three brand new GameCube related trademarks in Japan which is sure to excite those who would love a GameCube retro console to join the ranks of the NES Mini, SNES Mini, and a possible N64 Mini. Nintendo filed some trademarks for the Nintendo 64 in May 2018 and now they have registered new GameCube trademarks. These trademarks are for video gaming (not general merchandising) purposes. As always we shall have to wait and see if anything comes of it.

GameCube Controller Support On Nintendo Switch Was A Surprise To Even Nintendo
It was recently found out that the latest update for the Nintendo Switch supports GameCube controllers. Many believed that a GameCube Virtual Console wasn’t far off. However, it seems that GameCube controller support on the Nintendo Switch surprised even Nintendo. Here’s what Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime had to say to Kotaku.
In our latest system software update, it enables third-party peripherals to work on Nintendo Switch. As a result, the peripheral for Wii U that allows it to attach GameCube controllers also works. I think it’s fair to say, Stephen, that that peripheral working was as much a surprise to us as it was to consumers.

Nintendo Switch Supports Nintendo GameCube Adapter In Latest Update
The Nintendo Switch recently had a huge update in the form of Version 4.0. What wasn’t made clear or even listed in the update is that the update allows the Nintendo Switch to support GameCube controllers via the adapter. The news was discovered by Twitter user Master Mewking. You can use the GameCube controller with all Nintendo Switch games right now using the adapter. Could it be that the GameCube Virtual Console, which has been rumored for a while, is on its way?

Nintendo Switch Rumored To Have GameCube Virtual Console And More
According to Eurogamer, Nintendo Switch Virtual Console service which will include the following GameCube games: Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Sunshine and Super Smash Bros Melee with Animal Crossing currently being tested. The Virtual Console will also include an upgrade program for those that already own Virtual Console titles which will be available for a unspecified discount. Thoughts ?
