Huge GTA Trilogy Update Is Available Now

When the GTA Trilogy was initially released in October 2021, it generated a lot of interest. The Trilogy, marketed as a definitive compilation of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas, included Unreal Engine-enhanced visuals and updated control schemes. Lighting effects have been improved, character/vehicle models have been updated, and textures have been upgraded to a better resolution. When the bundle was ultimately released, though, fan dismay was practically instantaneous. The restored Rockstar classics were hampered by issues ranging from startling visual flaws to game-breaking problems. Months later, the 1.04 update tries to address these issues, with lousy textures and collisions/clipping being the major emphasis.

Yesterday, the Rockstar Support Twitter page announced that the massive 1.04 update is finally out. Here are a few significant points:

General  All Platforms

  • Improved game performance across all platforms and graphic modes
  • Stability improvements
  • Fixed several issues when attempting to retry a mission from the last checkpoint
  • Fixed many collision issues
  • Fixed several texture art and signage issues

  • Fixed an issue where the player was able to stretch a two-seater vehicle using the car crusher
  • Fixed an issue where the mission title would linger on screen too long at the beginning of any mission

Vice City:

  • Fixed a hole in the game world near CafĂ© Robina
  • Fixed an issue where the barrel of the minigun did not spin when fired
  • Fixed an issue where Lance would be duplicated after restarting the mission Copland

San Andreas:

  • Fixed a save game issue at the end of the mission Blood Bowl
  • Fixed a missing bridge in the Shady Creeks section of the map
  • Fixed graphical corruption on CJ’s head and body during the motel sequence of the mission "Reuniting the Families"
