THQ Nordic Digital Showcase Taking Place On September 17th

 THQ Nordic have announced that they are holding as special event to show consumers a look at their upcoming video games. The livestream will be hosted by everyones favorite host and journalist, Geoff Keighley. THQ Nordic have 6 new games to
showcase, so it should be well worth your time tuning in. The THQ Nordic digital showcase is at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm UK time and is a celebration for the company’s 10th anniversary.

The showcase will be hosted by the amazing @geoffkeighley, executive producer and host of The Game Awards, and will feature six new games.

THQ Nordic Revealing Three New Games Over The Next Few Days

THQ Nordic has announced on Twitter that they are planning to show off three unannounced games over the next three days. The company is expected to announced the new Darksiders title along with a new game in the Red Faction franchise. What game do you think they’ll announce ?

THQ Nordic Acquires Saints Row, Dead Island Parent Company

THQ Nordic has acquired Koch Media, the company that owns Saints Row, Dead Island, and Metro Exodus publisher Deep Silver. Now THQ Nordic doesn’t seem like just a name, as they might just be the publisher reborn. THQ Nordic will get all of Koch/Deep Silver's titles as well as studios Volition (Saints Row/Agents of Mayhem) and Dambuster Studio (Homefront: The Revolution). Koch also owns a European physical games publisher/distributor and a film distributor/co-producer.

Nordic Games Is Now THQ Nordic

Nordic Games, the studio being Darksiders: Warmasted Edition, will now be known as THQ Nordic. THQ went under a while back, but Nordic Games has acquired the rights to THQ’s library of titles and is now called THQ Nordic. “With this rebrand we are entering the next phase in our company’s evolution. As of now we have 23 game projects in development, 13 thereof have not yet been publicly announced, but are sure to be in the next months. Needless to say, the majority of these projects are based on former THQ owned IPs and franchises.” What do you think of the name change ?

Guillermo Del Toro Doesn’t Want To Make A Video Game Anymore

Director Guillermo del Toro hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to video games. THQ canceled Insane, which was in development at Volition. Then, Konami pulled the plug on del Toro’s Silent Hills team up with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima earlier this year. When speaking with Shack News at San Diego Comic Con, Del Toro revealed that he’s leaving aspirations in the video game world behind. “I have proven to be the albatross of video games,” he stated. “I joined THQ, and THQ goes broke. I join Kojima, and Kojima leaves Konami. I have decided, in order not to destroy anyone else’s life, I have decided I will never again get involved in video games. Otherwise, I’ll join someone and his house will explode, or something.” Gotta feel bad for him, after feeling like a kiss of death with every video game related project I’m not sure I’d want to work on a game either. Nordic Games CEO Says DarkSiders 2 Budget Was Ridiculous

Nordic Games owner and CEO Lars Wingefors said that at the time THQ spent $50 million developing Darksiders 2, which he thinks was way too much. "Darksiders is a top product, THQ spent $50 million making Darksiders 2. We can produce a product of the same quality but for a lower cost. $50 million is ridiculous. I can't afford that." Wingerfors goes on to say "The THQ deal was the best I ever made, I spent $5 million from my own bank account. It was a lot of money for me, but we got the money back very quickly." Nordic Games bought the rights to Darksiders from THQ's games in an auction after it filed for bankruptcy in December 2012.
