ICYMI: The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Sequel Delayed To 2023

Nintendo has made an update on the long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2's development status. Eiji Aonuma, the producer of the Zelda franchise, stated in a pre-recorded video that the massive open world adventure has been pushed back until spring 2023. He mentioned that the creators are hard at work on the game and apologized to the fans for the delay. You may see the pre-recorded video below, which includes some gameplay.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Comes To Nintendo Switch This Week

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask will be released on the Nintendo Switch on Friday, February 25th, according to Nintendo of America. The darker The Legend of Zelda game will be available to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass users. In the tweet below, you can see a newly put together trailer for the release.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD And Themed Joy-Cons Coming In July

Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is coming to Nintendo Switch. The game (which originally appeared on the Wii in November 2011) is an HD update with updated control schemes. Also announced were Skyward Sword themed Joy-Cons will be coming too. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will be arriving on July 16th.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Coming To Nintendo Switch In November

Nintendo of America has confirmed this afternoon that there’s a new Hyrule Warriors game in the works by Koei Tecmo Games and Nintendo. The new entry in the series is called Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and its due out on Nintendo Switch, 20th November. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes place 100 years before the main story of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

“A century before the events of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game, the Great Calamity occurred. Hyrule was plunged into darkness, devastated by an evil force which transformed the kingdom forever. While the Great Calamity is touched on in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch system, fans have never experienced what happened before that catastrophic event … until now.

In the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity game, which launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on Nov. 20, players will be transported to the time before the Great Calamity happened, participating in epic battles against a backdrop of familiar locations in Hyrule before they were destroyed. The game stars recognizable characters from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild like Link and Zelda, as well as other characters like the four Champions, who will be playable for the very first time in the Hyrule Warriorsseries.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Getting A Sweet Limited Edition Version + Amiibo

Nintendo has announced a Limited Edition of The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. It includes the game, a 120-page artbook and a GameBoy-themed Steelbook. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is Getting A Sequel

During Nintendo’s E3 Direct, a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was announced. We knew a new Zelda game was in development, but getting to see a glimpse of it, and learning that it is a Breath of the Wild sequel was a big surprise. In the announcement teaser, Link and Zelda are both exploring a cave, where a zombie looking sage becomes animated with red, glowing eyes. That’s all we know at this time, no release date, nothing. We’ll likely learn more over time, but it's very exciting to have confirmation that the game is in development. Thoughts ?

You’ll Be Able To Create Your Own Dungeon In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening This September

During Nintendo’s E3 Direct, we got a glimpse of several boss battles, the side-view fishing minigame, and the mischievous raccoon from the Mysterious Forest in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Although, the big reveal was that you can create your own dungeons. By talking to Dampé, you can gather dungeon tiles, then arrange them however you please. Completing these dungeons lets you earn rewards like Fairy Bottles. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening launches on Switch on September 20 for the Nintendo Switch.

The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Remake) For Nintendo Switch Coming In 2019

During the February 2019 Nintendo Direct, the company announced that they are remaking The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening which appeared on the Game Boy in 1993. The game is set to release sometime in 2019. Take a look at the video down below.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Has Been Added To Official Timeline

Legend of Zelda fans have been curious to see how Breath of the Wild fits into The Legend of Zelda timeline. Nintendo has recently released a new version of the timeline on the Japanese Zelda series portal. The latest Zelda game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been placed at the end, but as Siliconera reports, it is not connected to any of the three timelines. Instead, the game is separated, but still at the very end. Japanese publication Famitsu caught up with producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi to find out what the changes meant. Here’s their reply:

Eiji Aonuma, series producer: “Well of course it’s at the very end. But, I get what you’re asking, it’s which timeline is it the end of?”

Hidemaro Fujibayashi, director: “That’s… up to the player’s imagination, isn’t it?”

Aonuma: “Hyrule’s history changes with time. When we think of the next game and what we want to do with it, we might think, “Oh, this’ll fit well”, and place it neatly into the timeline, but sometimes we think, “Oh crap”, and have to change the placement. Actually, the decided history has been tweaked many times.” (laughs)

Fujibayashi: “Lately within the company, a term called ‘New Translation’ has cropped up. (laughs) Strictly speaking, we don’t change it, but rather new information and truths come to light.”

Famitsu: I see, so the way to interpret the lore of Breath of the Wild is still up for academic debate. (laughs)

Fujibayashi: “That’s why you should pay attention to future studies as well! Please look forward to it.” (laughs)

Astro Partners With Nintendo For Zelda-Themed Headset

Astro and Nintendo are collaborating to make a Zelda-themed headset that’s inspired by Breath of the Wild. The headset is an A10 headset with sleek Zelda iconography covering it. The idea, Astro says, is to release headsets that can be used for Nintendo Switch voice chat.

“We worked closely with Nintendo to create a stylish, uncompromising audio experience, with a special new chat adapter designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch," says Astro licensing chief Cris Lee. "With the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app, players can chat with their friends while playing compatible games at home or on the go."

The headset gets released this winter, but will be shown off at E3.

Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is The Second Highest-Selling Zelda Game

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now the second best-selling Zelda title of all-time. The highest selling Zelda game is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on the GameCube, Wii and Wii U. Breath of the Wild has sold 6.7 million units globally on the Nintendo Switch and an estimated 1.08 million units globally on Wii U. That means it has sold 7.78 million units worldwide.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition Coming To Nintendo Switch This Spring

During the Nintendo Direct, the company announced. Hyrule Warriors is getting a definitive edition. It’ll contain all the characters and stages from both the Wii U and 3DS versions of the game. The Switch version also adds both versions and adds outfits from Breath of the Wild for both Link and Zelda. The game now boasts 29 playable characters, which is 16 more characters than the game launched with on Wii U. The Switch port will also have local co-op, which can be done with the joycons. Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition will be releasing on the Switch in Spring 2018.

Aonuma Confirms That The Team Are Already Working On Next Zelda Title

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild producer Eiji Aonuma has confirmed that the team are already developing the next installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone now that the Breath of the Wild DLC is out of the way. There’s no word on when we can expect any details, but don’t expect them anytime soon.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Champion Amiibo Detailed

During the September 2017 Nintendo Direct video presentation, Nintendo revealed details on the Champion Amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild.  The 4 Champion Amiibo, based off the 4 Champions from the main game, will function much like every other Amiibo does within the game by generating items from the sky. The major way this set differs, however, is that each separate Champion will also drop pieces for a helmet based on that Champion's Divine Beast. Details of what those helmets do has not been revealed yet. The Amiibo will be released on November 10, which is a good bet for the window for the Champion's Ballad DLC.

Multiplayer Breath Of The Wild Mod For Wii U Emulator In The Works

If you’ve played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, then you know it has a massive over world to explore. It would be awesome to experience it with a friend by your side. While an official multiplayer mode  for Breath of the Wild is highly unlikely, a mod is now in development. Although the modders admits that it’s likely over a year away, it will allow 2 people to play locally side by side. However, It won’t be playable on either the Switch or the Wii U, but players will be able to explore Hyrule together via the Wii U emulator CEMU. What do you think of this idea ? It sounds great but kinda seems like a hassle just to play Breath of the Wild with someone else.

Nintendo has revealed a bit more info on the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champions’ Ballad DLC in a recent tweet. You will assume the role of Link and ultimately learn more  about Zelda. It is set after Gannon’s defeat. You can view a short clip of it below. Also, the lobster shirt from Wind Waker is making a return in the new DLC. The Champions’ Ballad DLC launches this holiday season. The big question I have is will you have to have beaten the game in order to play the DLC ? This may force people like to finally finish the game. Thoughts ?
