Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.10.5 And iOS 8.4.1 Today

Apple has released Mac OS X 10.10.5 and iOS 8.4.1 today. Here are the patch notes for each update:

Mac OS X 10.10.5

• Improves compatibility with certain email servers when using Mail.
•  Fixes an issue in Photos that prevents importing videos from GoPro cameras.
• Fixes an issue in QuickTime Player that prevented playback of Windows Media files. 

•  You can click on the Beats 1 banner to see what's currently on, or view a complete broadcast schedule so you never miss a show.
•  You can now view a list of the artists you're following on Apple Music.
• An issue where iTunes loses its place when you go back to a previous page in Apple Music has been resolved.
•  The upgrade addresses a problem where artists may be sorted incorrectly in My Music and an issue problem where playlists displayed in the action menu may not match the playlists in your library.
• Artists can now share thoughts, photos, music, and videos to Connect, right from iTunes.
• You can download iTunes 12.2.2 through the Updates tab on the Mac App Store.

iOS 8.4.1

• Resolves issues that could prevent turning on iCloud Music Library.
• Resolves an issue that hides added music because Apple Music was set to show offline music only.
• Provides a way to add songs to a new playlist if there aren't any playlists to choose from.
• Resolves an issue that may show different artwork for an album on other devices.
• Resolves several issues for artists while posting to Connect.
• Fixes an issue where tapping Love doesn't work as expected while listening to Beats 1.
• iOS 8.4.1 is now available to download through the Settings app on an iPhone or iPad.

Apple Release Update To Fix Security For OS X Users

Apple has released a new security update that is designed to address a security issues with the Network Time Protocol service on OS X. Apple recommends that all Yosemite, Mavericks, and Mountain Lion users should install the update as soon as possible. The vulnerability has the potential to allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code using the privileges of the ntpd process.These vulnerabilities could be exploited remotely. Exploits that target these vulnerabilities are publicly available. Products using NTP service prior to NTP–4.2.8 are affected. No specific vendor is specified because this is an open source protocol. The security update can be downloaded from the Mac App Store.

OSX 10.10.1 Released For Developers

Apple has released the first build of OS X 10.10.1 to those registered with the Mac Developer program. The OS X 10.10.1 seed 1 release focus areas are said to be Wi-Fi, Exchange accounts in Mail app, and Notification Center. No specific bugs or issues are mentioned, but this release could be aimed at resolving some of the wi-fi issues that have impacted some Yosemite users.
