YouTube TV Getting New Channels Alongside Price Increase

YouTube TV is getting new channels very soon. Unfortunately, if you’re a new subscriber to the video streaming service, it’s going to cost you a little bit more each month to enjoy. The YouTube TV service is expanding its programming to include several Turner networks, including TBS, TNT, CNN, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies. Also, YouTube TV users will soon have access to NBA TV and MLB Network. NBA All Access and MLB.TV will become optional paid add-ons soon too. Adding these new channels to the base YouTube TV package does have a downside. Beginning March 13, the monthly price jumps from $35 to $40 for new subscribers only.

YouTube TV Coming To Apple TV And Other Devices In The Coming Weeks

According to The Verge, YouTube TV will a get a native Apple TV app within "coming weeks”. It will also be rolling out on the Roku device and smart TVs from Samsung, Sony, and LG, the article adds. 

“When we launched the service, we positioned it as a mobile-first product. A lot of that was about breaking the association with the DVR and set-top box, this hardware in the living room you have to rent that gets outdated really quickly. We were trying to get people to grok that this is TV that lives on your phone, a cloud DVR, all of the above,” Christian Oestlien, product management director at YouTube TV, told The Verge. “What we saw in practice was that the majority of our watch time was in the living room, through Cast. And the number one request we get from consumers is more options, native options, for the living room.”

YouTube TV is a live streaming service from Google. The service costs $35 for a base package that includes channels from ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, as well as affiliated channels like ESPN, Syfy and Bravo.

YouTube TV Comes To 14 More US Cities

Google's YouTube TV has expanded to 14 more U.S. cities. Those cities are Baltimore, Boston, Las Vegas, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Tampa, Cincinnati, Columbus, Jacksonville, Louisville, Memphis, San Antonio, and West Palm Beach. YouTube TV is now available in 29 markets in total. Currently the service offers over 50 channels, such as the big four broadcasters (ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC) and related stations. Notably missing are CNN, TBS, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. Only 2 add-ons are available, Showtime and Fox Soccer Plus. Subscriptions cost $35 per month for a base package with 6 accounts. Subscribers can watch via Chromecast, iPhone/iPad, Mac, PC, and various Android devices. There is no native Apple TV app, but the iOS client does support AirPlay. The service also offers a free cloud DVR, which has no storage limits. Customers also get a free Chromecast after their first payment, and free access to YouTube Red Originals, but not other Red features.

YouTube TV Expands To 10 More Areas In The US

YouTube TV, the streaming television service,  launched back in April, operating in only 5 US cities for its first few months. Now, they're expanding availability in 10 more metropolitan areas in the country. Those include: Phoenix, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Atlanta, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., Detroit, and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

You Can Now YouTube TV With Apple TV Over AirPlay

The streaming TV service known as Youtube TV just got upgraded with AirPlay support on the iOS app, giving you a quick way to shoot whatever you're watching over to an Apple TV. Yeah, an actual Apple TV app would be nice, but this’ll do for now while Google works on that.

YouTube TV Adds AMC, BBC America And More

YouTube TV (YouTube's streaming TV service) launched over a month ago and its limited 39-channel range was a clear drawback for consumers compared to its competitors. But now the company is following up on its promises to add channels, including 7 more cable networks, such as AMC, BBC America and Telemundo to its basic $35 per-month package. YouTube TV Is Now Available In 5 Cities

The $35 a month TV streaming service, YouTube TV, is now available in areas of New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, and Philadelphia. Other U.S. markets are “coming soon,” Google says, though the company has not announced any specifics. YouTube TV’s lineup covers more than 50 channels, including ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, ESPN, Fox Sports networks, and Comcast SportsNet. Google has announced YouTube TV, a live TV service launching this spring that will compete with other internet-only TV services like Sling TV and PlayStation Vue. The service is set to stream content from the big 4 networks (ABC,CBS, NBC and Fox) as well as "ESPN, regional sports networks and dozens of popular cable networks." YouTube TV also promises a cloud DVR service "with no storage limits," although there is a 9 month time limit to how long YouTube holds onto your recordings. YouTube TV is priced at $35 per month.
