You’ll Soon Be Able To View iCloud Photo Libraries On Windows

Microsoft is updating Windows 11 to include the ability to view iCloud photo libraries right in the Photos app. No, you won't
need a browser, just the iCloud app from Microsoft's store. You may never need to manually move photographs to your Windows devices if your iCloud account has enough space to retain all of your images.

Apple One Is A Bundle Of Apple’s Subscription Services

Apple announced Apple One, a new bundle of their services including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud, Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+ at a discounted price. The Family and Premier plans can be shared between up to 6 family members.

Apple One, the easiest way to get all of Apple’s subscription services in one simple plan, including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and iCloud. With a single subscription, customers in over 100 countries and regions can enjoy their favorite Apple services across their favorite devices, including iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, and Mac.

“Apple One makes enjoying Apple subscription services easier than ever, including Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud, and more,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “With Apple One, you can access the best of Apple entertainment across all your favorite devices with one simple subscription.”

Starting this fall, customers with Apple subscriptions will be recommended the right Apple One plan for them so they can sign up with a tap from any Apple device and get even more for less.

• Individual includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for $14.95 per month.
• Family includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage for $19.95 per month, and can be shared among up to six family members. 
• Premier, where available, includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and 2TB of iCloud storage for $29.95 per month, and can be shared among up to six family members.

Apple One includes a 30-day free trial for any services that customers do not already have. With Apple One, customers will receive only one invoice each month, and they can easily change or cancel their Apple One plan at any time. With the Family and Premier plans, up to six family members can access all the included services with their own personal accounts and preferences.

Apple Rumored To Offer “Apple One” Bundle Of Subscription Services

It appears Apple is preparing a series of bundles that will let customers subscribe to several of the company’s digital services at a lower monthly price, according to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Quoting unnamed “people with knowledge of the matter,” the usually-reliable Gurman says the bundles, dubbed “Apple One” will launch as early as October alongside the “iPhone 12” announced. There will purportedly be different tiers.

A basic package will include Apple Music and Apple TV+, while a more expensive variation will have those two services and the Apple Arcade gaming service. The next tier will add Apple News+, followed by a pricier bundle with extra iCloud storage for files and photos.

Apple Increases Its Free iCloud Storage For Students From 5GB To 200GB

During Apple’s education event in Chicago, Apple announced it’s increasing its free iCloud storage for education from 5GB up to 200GB. The updated 200GB plans are only for students with school provided Apple IDs. The rest of us are still limited to 5GB of free storage and will have to pay $2.99 a month for 200GB.

Apple Tweaks iCloud Storage Prices

Apple has tweaked the prices for its iCloud storage option. The 1TB a month option is no more, but the 2TB option price has dropped to $9.99. You can still get 50GB of storage per month for $0.99, and 200GB for $2.99. The changes have been made in all countries where iCloud storage is available.

Apple Introduces New Photos App For The Web Version Of iCloud

Apple has introduced a new version of its Photos Web app for iCloud. It’s available to all users of iCloud.com. The upgraded Photos Web app sports an updated sidebar and scrubber to that matches the macOS Sierra Photos app. It includes an updated toolbar with upload and download buttons along the the top of the interface. The new Photos Web app also includes a new vertical sidebar for quick access to albums in your Photos library. Thoughts ?

Apple Adds A 2TB Storage Option To iCloud

Apple has added a 2TB storage option for iCloud. The new 2TB plan will costs $19.99 a month. Apple also offers 1TB for $9.99 a month, 200GB for $2.99 a month, 50GB for $0.99 a month, and 5GB a month for free. 

Apple Has Changed The Pricing And Capacities For iCloud Storage

Apple has changed the pricing and capacities for iCloud Storage. In the US, you will be able to choose a total of 50GB, 200GB, or 1TB of storage. Pricing will begin at $0.99 per month, and go as high as $9.99 per month. 

Here are the old pricing options:

• 20GB for $0.99 per month
• 200GB for $3.99 per month
• 1TB for $19.99 per month

Here are the new pricing options:

• 50GB for $0.99 per month
• 200GB for $2.99 per month
• 1TB for $9.99 per month

Looks like Apple is really giving you your bag for your buck. If you are already subscribing to one of the existing plans, you will automatically be upgraded to the new options. Apple To Add Security Alerts For iCloud Users

Apple will add security alerts for iCloud users, broaden two-factor authentication and make a more aggressive effort to alert users about protecting their accounts. Tim Cook CEO of Apple  said this to the Wall Street Journal on the matter. “To make such leaks less likely, Mr. Cook said Apple will alert users via email and push notifications when someone tries to change an account password, restore iCloud data to a new device, or when a device logs into an account for the first time. Until now, users got an email when someone tried to change a password or log in for the first time from an unknown Apple device; there were no notifications for or restoring iCloud data”.  The new notifications will begin in two weeks and will allow users to take action on potential hacking, allowing them to either change the password to retake the account or alerting Apple's security team. Cook all had this to say "When I step back from this terrible scenario that happened and say what more could we have done, I think about the awareness piece. I think we have a responsibility to ratchet that up. That's not really an engineering thing." Apple has a media event on September 9 where they are said to be revealing the iPhone 6 and the iWatch.
