Apple Releases iOS 13.3.1, iPadOS 13.3.1, tvOS 13.3.1 And watchOS 6.1.2

Apple has released iOS 13.3.1, iPadOS 13.3.1, tvOS 13.3.1, and watchOS 6.1.2.. You can download the first two on your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings —> General —> Software Update. 

According to Apple’s release notes, iOS 13.3.1:

Fixes an issue in Communication Limits that could allow a contact to be added without entering the Screen Time passcode 

- Adds a setting to control the use of location services by the U1 Ultra Wideband chip 

- Addresses an issue that could cause a momentary delay before editing a Deep Fusion photo taken on ‌iPhone 11‌ or iPhone 11 Pro

Resolves an issue with Mail that could cause remote images to load even when the “Load Remote Images” setting is disabled 

- Fixes an issue that could cause multiple undo dialogs to appear in Mail 

- Addresses an issue where FaceTime could use the rear facing ultra-wide camera instead of the wide camera 

- Resolves an issue where push notifications could fail to be delivered over Wi-Fi 

- Addresses a CarPlay issue that could cause distorted sound when making phone calls in certain vehicles 

- Introduces support for Indian English Siri voices for HomePod.

Apple says ‌iPadOS‌ 13.3.1:

- Fixes an issue in Communication Limits that could allow a contact to be added without entering the Screen Time passcode

watchOS 6.1.2 doesn’t include any new features, but provides performance improvements and bug fixes. To install it, launch the Watch app on your iPhone and go to General > Software Update.

Apple Releases iOS 13.2.3 And iPadOS 13.2.3

Apple has released iOS 13.2.3 and iPadOS 13.2.3. Go to Settings —> General —> Software Update on your iPhone / iPad to install them.

According to Apple's release notes, the updates:

• Fix an issue where system search and search within Mail, Files, and Notes might not work;
  
• Address an issue where photos, links, and other attachments might not display in the Messages details view;
  
• Fix an issue that could prevent apps from downloading content in the background;
  
• Resolves issues that may prevent Mail from fetching new messages, and fail to include and quote original message content in Exchange accounts.

Apple Released iOS 13.2.2 And iPadOS 13.2.2

Apple has released iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2. To update your device go to Settings —> General —> Software Update on your iPhone and/or iPad to install them.

The updates resolve a glitch in which apps quit when running in the background, and other issues. Also, according to Apple’s release notes, iOS 13.2.2:

• Fixes an issue that could cause apps to quit unexpectedly when running in the background;
  
• Resolves an issue where iPhone may temporarily lose mobile signal after a call;
  
• Addresses an issue where mobile data may temporarily not be available;
  
• Fixes an issue that caused replies to S/MIME encrypted email messages between Exchange accounts to be unreadable;
  
• Addresses an issue where using Kerberos single sign-on service in Safari may present an authentication prompt;
  
• Resolves an issue where charging may be interrupted on YubiKey Lightning-powered accessories.
  iPadOS 13.2.2 addresses all the above expect for the cellular issues fix.

Apple has released iOS 13.2 iPad OS 13.2, HomePod 13.2, and tvOS 13.2, Here are Apple’s release notes for iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2:

iOS 13.2 introduces Deep Fusion, an advanced image processing system that uses the A13 Bionic Neural Engine to capture images with dramatically better texture, detail, and reduced noise in lower light, on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Additional features include updated and additional emoji, Announce Messages for AirPods, support for AirPods Pro, HomeKit Secure Video, HomeKit enabled routers, and new Siri privacy settings. This update also contains bug fixes and improvements.

Camera

• Deep Fusion for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max uses the A13 Bionic Neural Engine to capture multiple images at various exposures, run a pixel-by-pixel analysis, and fuse the highest quality parts of the images together resulting in photos with dramatically better texture, details, and reduced noise, especially for mid to low light scenes
  
• Ability to change the video resolution directly from the Camera app for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max
  

Emoji

• Over 70 new or updated emoji, including animals, food, activities, new accessibility emoji, gender neutral emoji, and skin tones selection for couple emoji
  

AirPods support

• Announce Messages with Siri to read your incoming messages aloud to your AirPods
  
• AirPods Pro support
  

Home App

• HomeKit Secure Video enables you to privately capture, store, and view encrypted video from your security cameras and features people, animal, and vehicle detection
  
• HomeKit enabled routers put you in control of what your HomeKit accessories communicate with over the internet or in your home
  

Siri

• Privacy settings to control whether or not to help improve Siri and Dictation by allowing Apple to store audio of your Siri and Dictation interactions
  
• Option to delete your Siri and Dictation history from Siri Settings
  

This update also includes bug fixes and other improvements. This update:

• Fixes an issue that may prevent passwords from autofilling in 3rd party apps
  
• Resolves an issue that may prevent the keyboard from appearing when using Search
  
• Addresses an issue where swipe to go home might not work on iPhone X and later
  
• Fixes an issue where Messages would only send a single notification when the option to repeat alerts was enabled
  
• Addresses an issue where Messages may display a phone number instead of a contact name
  
• Resolves an issue that caused Contacts to launch to the previously opened contact instead of the contact list
  
• Fixes an issue that may prevent Markup annotations from being saved
  
• Resolves an issue where saved notes could temporarily disappear
  
• Fixes an issue where iCloud Backup might not successfully complete after tapping Backup Now in Settings
  
• Improves performance when using AssistiveTouch to activate App Switcher
  

You can download iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 on your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings > General > Software Update. 

HomePod 13.2 — included with iOS 13.2 — adds the ability for smart speaker to recognize different voices, play high-quality ambient soundtracks, and handoff music, podcasts or calls from iPhone. It should be automatically via the Home app on an iPhone. If it does, you can do it manually by tapping on the house icon at the top right of the screen, then scrolling to Software Update.

tvOS 13.2 tvOS 13.2 update for Apple TV with support for Siri recording opt-in and the AirPods Pro (see separate story) To download it 13 on your Apple TV (if it doesn’t update automatically), launch the System menu via the set-top box and choose Software Update.

Apple Releases iOS 13.1.1 And iPadOS 13.1.1

Apple has released iOS 13.1.1 and iPadOS 13.1.1. You can download them on your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings —> General —> Software Update. 

According to Apple’s release notes, each upgrade:

• Fixes issues that could prevent iPhone restoring from backup;
  
• Addresses an issue that could cause battery to drain more quickly;
  
• Resolves a problem where Safari search suggestions may re-enable after turning them off;
  
• Addresses an issue that could cause Reminders to sync slowly;
  
• Fixes a security issue for third-party keyboard apps.
  

iOS 13.1.1 also fixes an issue that could impact recognition of Siri requests on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

iOS 13, iPadOS 13 And watchOS 6 Coming On September 19, macOS Catalina Coming In October

iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 are coming on Thursday, September 19, along with watchOS 6. iOS 13.1 and iPadOS 13.1 are set to release on September 30, while macOS Catalina is coming sometime in October.
