Apple Stores To Boost Trade In Values For Older iPhones

For all of June, Apple is giving a small boost to its trade-in price values for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPhone 5S. Using the Reuse and Recycle program, a customer can bring in an older iPhone model and receive gift card credit toward the purchase of a newer iPhone. Apple is offering the following improvements to its trade in pricing. iPhone 4S will get $50 of credit instead of $35, iPhone 5 will get $100 of credit instead of $85 and the iPhone 5S will get $200 of credit instead of $175. will you take advantage of this deal ? Apple Extend’s iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program

When Apple launched its iPhone 5 battery replacement program last year, the company said that it would accept devices for replacement up to 2 years after purchase. Because the devices with the faulty batteries were sold between September 2012 and January 2013, 2 years from that date range would have given buyers until January 2015 to get their devices swapped. Apple has updated the copy on the page to state that replacements would be accepted for an additional year. The page now says that users may return their defective units until 3 years after the date of purchase, pushing the end date for the program back to January 2016 for those who bought their phones near the end of the time when affected models were sold.

Rumored iPhone 6s To Keep 8 Megapixel Camera

iPhone camera module supplier Largan Precision is expected to face limited earnings growth this year amid rumors that Apple's next generation smartphone will retain an 8 megapixel rear facing camera sensor. The report claims the iPhone 6s will have the same camera hardware specifications as previous models. Apple first introduced an 8-megapixel rear camera on the iPhone 4s in 2011 and used similar modules for the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s.

BlackBerry Paying iPhone Users To Switch To BlackBerry

BlackBerry is trying to persuade unhappy iPhone owners and is using a cash bonus to encourage them to switch platforms. This new "trade-up"program is part of the company's recently announced holiday deals. According to BlackBerry, its trade-up program is for current iPhone owners who want to "work wide" on a BlackBerry Passport. BlackBerry is offering up to $550 for customers willing to trade in their iPhone for a BlackBerry Passport. The promotion extends to the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5/C/S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with the offer amount based on the condition of the phone. This trade in program begins on December 1 and will run until February 13, 2015. It is available to all iPhone owners in North America.

Apple Announces Battery Replacement For The iPhone 5

If you purchased the iPhone 5  and your battery seems to need charging more often than usual. Apple has just announced an iPhone 5 battery replacement program for phones that "may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently." The affected iPhones were all sold in the first few months of the iPhone 5's life, between September of 2012 and January of 2013. The program launched on August 22 in the US and China, and it will be available in other countries on August 29. It will be available for two years after your purchase date or until March 1 of 2015, whichever provides longer coverage.
