Razer Introduces macOS Compatible Core X eGPU

Back in February Apple released macOS High Sierra 10.13.4, which added support for external graphics processors (eGPUs). Now Razer has introduce the Mac compatible Core X eGPU that’s compatible with Mac Thunderbolt 3 laptops.
It’s Mac ready with compatible AMD Radeon cards. The Razer Core X features an expanded internal design with a wider aluminum shell to accommodate up to 3-slot wide desktop graphics cards. The Core X supports the latest desktop PCIe graphics cards such as NVIDIA GeForce, NVIDIA Quadro, and AMD XConnect enabled Radeon and Radeon Pro cards. The Razer Core X embraces plug-and-play capabilities with the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) connection to the laptop. This eliminates the need for lengthy reboots every time the external graphics enclosure is connected. The Thunderbolt 3 connection also yields speeds up to 40Gbps.

The Razer Core X houses a 650W ATX power supply. A single Thunderbolt 3 connection to the laptop now provides 100W of power for laptop charging. The aluminum enclosure is designed with open vents and additional desktop cooling to dispense heat. The Core X costs $299. However, that price doesn’t include a graphics card, which you’ll have to purchase separately.

Razer's Nommo PC Gaming Speakers Features Chroma Lighting

Gaming peripheral maker Razer announced 3 new speakers for at CES. The Nommo speakers are equipped with the company's Chroma lighting system, to let you visually customize your gaming space with light. The Nommo Pro is THX-certified, features premium 2.1 speaker system with Dolby virtual 5.1 surround sound. Razer says its main drivers are covered with Kevlar and its tweeters are woven with silk for solid mids and smooth, balanced highs, while the cylindrical subwoofer moves the air downward to provide a deep bottom end. The Nommo Pro has USB, optical, Bluetooth and standard audio ports into a control pod separate from the speakers. Razer's Hyperflux Wireless Mouse Is Powered By The Pad That Comes With It

Gaming peripheral maker Razer has introduced the Hyperflux suite. For the $250 bundle, the Hyperflux Firefly pad and Mamba mouse isn’t cheap, but they're priced identically to Logitech's PowerPlay mat and pricier mouse. That's kind of the point. The Mamba mouse's optical sensor has 16,000 DPI and up to 450 inches per second and lights around the Firefly pad light up in 16.8 million colors. It should be noted that the Mamba doesn't include a battery and relies on the Firefly for power. Razer's Hyperflux system will be available at select retailers in Q1 2018.

Razer's Newest Gaming Keyboard Can Survive A Spilled Drink

Ever knock your drink the wrong way and your keyboard was toast ? That won't be as much of a problem in the future, as Razer has unveiled a new version of its BlackWidow Ultimate with IP54 water and dust resistance. While the rating doesn't mean you can dunk the keyboard in the pool, it's good enough that your gaming session won't be ruined by a splash. Beyond that, you're getting Razer's mechanical switches with 10-key anti-ghosting and full programming support. You're limited to green lighting, but you can still create lighting effects like ripples and waves. The new Blackwidow is available online right now for $110 and should spread to stores worldwide before the year is over.

Razer Announces Their Own Phone

Razer is known for its gaming peripherals and PCs, but the question now is will it be known for its phone. With its new $699 Razer Phone, the company tried to balance pure power with a handful of hardware features. In doing so, Razer has built a gaming phone that you don't have to be a gamer to appreciate when it launches on November 17.

The Razer Phone uses a 5.7-inch IGZO LCD panel, which is plenty bright and pleasant to look at. The screen refreshes at a rate of 120Hz — which is the same as an iPad Pro. Long story short, that makes everything that happens on-screen look really smooth and great for games too. The phone also features Snapdragon 835 comes in. The 8 CPU cores are paired with an Adreno 540 GPU, but Razer has added 8GB of RAM to compliment the screens refresh rate. Unfortunately there’s no headphone jack, though the included USB-C-to-headphone adapter does pack a 24-bit, THX-certified digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Ad for the battery, there's a huge 4,000mAh battery inside, and sitting above and below the screen are a pair of front-facing speakers.
The phone runs a mostly clean version of Android Nougat with the Nova Prime launcher pre-loaded, giving people extensive customization options right out of the gate. Razer is also working with game developers on themes users can apply to their phones, because of course they are.

It should be noted that the phone isn't IP rated for water or dust resistance, so you can't be as care less with it as you could be with other flagship devices. The phone has a 12-megapixel dual camera, but not much is known about the quality of the photos. What are your thoughts on the Razer Phone ?

Razer To Debut Its First Phone On November 1

Razer is teasing an event on November 1st with a preview image that shows a man holding what looks to be a phone-sized device. While Razer is shy on details, it describes the event as its "biggest unveiling" whatever it shows in November is important enough that the company wants to build as much hype as possible. There isn't much known about Razer's device, but it won't be surprising if it's focused on display quality, sound and performance given the event's "watch, listen, play" mantra. Thoughts ? Would you buy a phone made by Razer ?

Razer’s Project Valerie Is A Triple Screen Gaming Laptop

During CES 2017, Razer revealed Project Valerie, a 17-inch triple-screen gaming laptop. The laptop has a slightly thick form factor coming in at around 1.5-inches, and once opened, a proprietary set of hinges deploy to reveal three monitors, equally sized at 17.3-inches and each sporting up to 4K resolution with G-SYNC enabled. When the screens are fully deployed, the laptop gives users a resolution of 11,520 x 2160. Powering the laptop is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, so theoretically you can travel with your VR headset. Project Valerie weighs less than 12 pounds, which makes it one of the heaviest high-end gaming laptops. However, that 12 pounds of tech gets you desktop performance and three 17.3-inch screens. a price is unknown at this time as this is just a prototype. This seems like the king of kings when it comes to gaming laptops. The power, the screens, everything about this laptop is absolutely awesome. The real question is, how much is this gonna cost ?
