Play Steam Games On iPhone, iPad And Apple TV With Steam Link

Valve's Steam Link app is available for Apple's devices. You’ll be able to stream you PC games on your iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, right from your PC. This isn’t quite cloud-streamed gaming, as your PC and Steam needs to be on in order to use the app. You’ll also need a decent connection, here’s all the requirements you’ll need to use SteamLink :

Requirements:
  • iPhone or iPad using iOS 10 or higher
  • Computer running Steam – Windows, Mac, or Linux
  • iOS device must be on the same local network as the computer running Steam

For best performance:
  • Connect your computer using Ethernet to your 5Ghz WiFi router
  • Connect your iOS device to the 5GHz band of your WiFi network
  • Keep your iOS device within a reasonable range of your router

This is more or less PS4 Remote play for Steam games. Only real difference is the latency, at least that’s all I can see from the short time I’ve used the app. Thoughts ?

Apple Rejects Steam Link On iOS Due To “Business Conflicts”

Valve's Steam Link was set to release on mobile this week. While the beta version released on Google Play with out issue, the iOS app appears to have hit an unexpected problem. Valve said in a statement that Apple approved then withdrew it from the App Store:
"On Monday, May 7th, Apple approved the Steam Link app for release." It continues: "The following morning, Apple revoked its approval citing business conflicts with app guidelines that had allegedly not been realized by the original review team."
Steam Link is as a way to stream PC games onto TV, allowing players to enjoy their favorite titles from the comfort of their couch. Valve apparently tried to appeal the ruling, pointing out the abundance of free game-streaming apps already live in the marketplace. However, those pleas were overlooked.

"The team here spent many hours on this project and the approval process, so we're clearly disappointed. But we hope Apple will reconsider in the future."
Apple hasn't detailed the reasons behind its rejection, but Moonlight and Remotr are available as alternatives.

Steam Link And Controller Doesn’t Work With Some Macs

According to an email obtained by Eurogamer, Valve as confirmed that the Steam Link isn't working at all with Macs. The Steam Controller doesn't currently support gamepad emulation on Macs, though people running the Steam Beta client should be able to use keyboard or mouse emulation. Valve blamed "temporary software issues" for the situation, and promised that the Controller's Mac gamepad emulation should work within a few weeks. For compensation Valve is gifting the Valve Complete Pack, which normally costs $100 and includes all of Valve's games, even unreleased titles. People who choose to return the hardware have 60 days instead of the usual 30, and can still keep the Complete Pack. For those who don’t know The Steam Link is used to stream games from any computer running Steam to a TV, where people can also hook up gamepads for a console like experience. What do you think of Steam Link and the Steam controller ? Seems like a awesome devices but i’d like to get my hands on it before I get it my 2 cents.
