The Evil Within 2 Gets Free First-Person Mode

The Evil Within 2 developer Tango Gameworks is letting players pick which way they want to experience the game with an optional first-person camera via a free update.
"I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you're in third-person," says Tango Gameworks' producer, Shinsaku Ohara. "Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs."

Players can switch between the first- and third-person cameras at any time in the game menu, and you can see how it works in action with the game's free trial.

You Can Play The Evil Within 2 For PC In First-Person

It looks like The Evil Within 2 can be a whole lot scarier you can play it entirely in first-person. It’ll take some light “modding” to make it work, though, as PC Gamer details, if you right-click the game in your Steam library, then click "properties" and "set launch options," you can enable the game's console by typing in "+com_allowconsole 1" (without the quotes). If you then launch the game, you can press the Insert key to bring up the console, then type in "pl_FPS 1" (without quotes) to shift the game's perspective to first-person. If that doesn't work, try typing in "toggle" or "idStudio" first. If you're curious about how The Evil Within 2 looks like in first-person, Youtube user SkacikPL has posted a video showing how this is in action.
