Donald Trump Willing To Give Apple A Large Tax Cut To Make Its Products In The U.S.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, President elect Donald Trump appears to have told Apple CEO Tim Cook that he wants the company to build iPhones and other products in the U.S. and is willing to offer a large tax cut to make it happen.  Here’s his statement: I got a call from Tim Cook at Apple, and I said, ‘Tim, you know one of the things that will be a real achievement for me is when I get Apple to build a big plant in the United States, or many big plants in the United States, where instead of going to China, and going to Vietnam, and going to the places that you go to, you’re making your product right here.’ He said, ‘I understand that.’ I said: ‘I think we’ll create the incentives for you, and I think you’re going to do it. We’re going for a very large tax cut for corporations, which you’ll be happy about.’ But we’re going for big tax cuts, we have to get rid of regulations, regulations are making it impossible. Whether you’re liberal or conservative, I mean I could sit down and show you regulations that anybody would agree are ridiculous. It’s gotten to be a free-for-all. And companies can’t, they can’t even start up, they can’t expand, they’re choking.” Thoughts ?

Don’t Expect A iPad/Mac Hybrid Anytime Soon

Don’t expect a iPad/Mac Hybrid anytime soon as Apple CEO Tim Cook has denied that Apple has plans to create a hybrid device that would merge iOS and OS X. In an interview with Independent, Tim Cook stated that such a device would compromise Apple's goal to make the best personal computer, as well as the best tablet. "We feel strongly that customers are not really looking for a converged Mac and iPad," Cook said. "Because what that would wind up doing, or what we’re worried would happen, is that neither experience would be as good as the customer wants. So we want to make the best tablet in the world and the best Mac in the world. And putting those two together would not achieve either. You’d begin to compromise in different ways." The idea that Apple would merge OS X and iOS is reinforced by the fact that the Mac and iPad hardware are closer than ever before.  Cook has this to say about that hardware being closer, "It’s true that the difference between the X86 and the A-series is much less than it’s ever been. That said, what we’ve tried to do is to recognize that people use both iOS and Mac devices. So we’ve taken certain features and made them more seamless across the devices." It seems like a shame and a wasted opportunity for Apple not to do a hybrid machine. When Apple released the iPad Pro last week, I went to an Apple Store to check it out. It really is a massive an amazing tablet and while I was massing around with it I said to myself imagine if OS X was on this, how amazing would that be ? I guess we’ll never know as thats not what Apple has planned. What do you think of a hybrid iPad/Mac device ?

Tim Cook Remembering Steve Jobs on 4th Anniversary of His Death

Apple CEO Tim Cook has sent an email to employees to commemorate the 4th anniversary since the death of late Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs, who passed away October 5, 2011. Heres the e-mail from Time Cook:

Team,

Today marks four years since Steve passed away. On that day, the world lost a visionary. We at Apple lost a leader, a mentor, and many of us lost a dear friend.

Steve was a brilliant person, and his priorities were very simple. He loved his family above all, he loved Apple, and he loved the people with whom he worked so closely and achieved so much.

Each year since his passing, I have reminded everyone in the Apple community that we share the privilege and responsibility of continuing the work Steve loved so much.

What is his legacy? I see it all around us: An incredible team that embodies his spirit of innovation and creativity. The greatest products on earth, beloved by customers and empowering hundreds of millions of people around the world. Soaring achievements in technology and architecture. Experiences of surprise and delight. A company that only he could have built. A company with an intense determination to change the world for the better.

And, of course, the joy he brought his loved ones.

He told me several times in his final years that he hoped to live long enough to see some of the milestones in his children’s lives. I was in his office over the summer with Laurene and their youngest daughter. Messages and drawings from his kids to their father are still there on Steve’s whiteboard.

If you never knew Steve, you probably work with someone who did or who was here when he led Apple. Please stop one of us today and ask what he was really like. Several of us have posted our personal remembrances on AppleWeb, and I encourage you to read them.
Thank you for honoring Steve by continuing the work he started, and for remembering both who he was and what he stood for.

Tim

What does Steve Jobs mean you ? What kind of person do you think he was ?

To me he was a man who wanted to change the world and the way we think, and I’ll be damned if he didn’t succeed in doing just that.

The Apple Watch Is More Popular Then The First iPhone With Developers

CEO of AppleTim Cook recently had an interview with Bloomberg Business week, and he noted that developers are more interested in Apple Watch than they were in the original iPhone and iPad.
Developers are working on more than 3,500 apps for the gadgets, he said. That’s well ahead of the 500 apps available for the 2008 edition of the iPhone and the 1,000 for the first iPad in 2010”.
It shouldn’t be surprising, that developers are coding more than 3,500 apps for Apple Watch. The International Data Corporation (IDC) recently estimated that 72.1 million wearable devices will be shipped in 2015, a 173.3 percent increase over the 26.4 million units shipped in 2014. In other words, wearable devices are exploding in popularity, and developers recognize that. Apple Watch won’t account for all 72.1 million wearable devices sold in 2015, but it’s safe to assume Cupertino’s smartwatch will make up a good portion of that number. It’s all about developers putting there app’s on the most popular platforms.

Apple To Add Security Alerts For iCloud Users

Apple will add security alerts for iCloud users, broaden two-factor authentication and make a more aggressive effort to alert users about protecting their accounts. Tim Cook CEO of Apple  said this to the Wall Street Journal on the matter. “To make such leaks less likely, Mr. Cook said Apple will alert users via email and push notifications when someone tries to change an account password, restore iCloud data to a new device, or when a device logs into an account for the first time. Until now, users got an email when someone tried to change a password or log in for the first time from an unknown Apple device; there were no notifications for or restoring iCloud data”.  The new notifications will begin in two weeks and will allow users to take action on potential hacking, allowing them to either change the password to retake the account or alerting Apple's security team. Cook all had this to say "When I step back from this terrible scenario that happened and say what more could we have done, I think about the awareness piece. I think we have a responsibility to ratchet that up. That's not really an engineering thing." Apple has a media event on September 9 where they are said to be revealing the iPhone 6 and the iWatch.
