Square Enix CEO Says Deus Ex Isn’t Dead

It was reported earlier in year that Square Enix put the Deus Ex series on hiatus following the reception of Mankind Divided. Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda now says that ins’t the case.

 "We have never said anything about discontinuing that title but for some reason that's the rumor out on the market," clarified Matsuda in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz. "What I can say is Eidos Montreal has always developed Deus Ex, and the issue is we do not have limitless resources. We have several big titles that we work with and that's partly a factor in what our line-up looks like. Of course, it would be ideal if we could work on all of them all of the time, but the fact of the matter is some titles have to wait their turn. The reason there isn't a Deus Ex right now is just a product of our development line-up because there are other titles we are working on."

Along with Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal is currently spearheading the development of a new Avengers title that was teased during the announcement of the partnership between Square Enix and Marvel Studios.

The Deus Ex Series Is On Hiatus

According to a report from Eurogamer, the Deus Ex series has been placed on hiatus. Eidos Montreal is officially working with Crystal Dynamics on an Avengers title that won't be revealed until 2018. Square Enix has officially responded to the article with the statement: "While we are still working on expanding the Deus Ex Universe, along with creating new content and updates for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, we're also devoting our talents towards working with Crystal Dynamics and Marvel on The Avengers project." The report also states that while it works with Crystal Dynamics on the Avengers game, Eidos Montreal is also working on an unannounced Guardians of the Galaxy project. This kinda sucks for Deus Ex fans, but if you’re a Marvel fan, man what a time to be alive. Thoughts ?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Gets 2 Story DLC In Its Season Pass

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided releases tomorrow, and you might want to get the season pass. The season pass will feature 2 story DLC. The first, System Rift, will be out this fall. The second DLC, A Criminal Past, will be coming in early 2017. If you do purchase the season pass, you’ll get a number of in-game items immediately. These include a bundle of assault weapons and ammo, a pack of non-lethal gear, 4 praxis kits (to unlock new augments and abilities), 5,000 credits, 1,000 crafting parts, 5 Breach mode booster packs, and 20 Breach mode chipsets. The season pass will cost you$30. It’ll be available alongside Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 23.

Deus Ex Go Coming To iOS And Android Next Week

Square Enix Montreal has announced via Twitter that Deus Ex Go will be released for iOS and Android on August 18. Like the other Go games, (Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go, Deux Ex Go) the turn based mobile game is a translation of the console game to a puzzler that uses some of its key features.  

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s Breach Mode Makes You Feel Like A Hacker

Besides the tradition story mode, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will feature an additional mode called Breach. In Breach mode, you play as a hacker working to steal data from a well-guarded server farm. Your virtual avatar will encounter guards and other defenses. Your goal is to reach the data towers and get out without being destroyed. Along the way, you’ll unlock cards that serve as environmental mods and weapon modifiers. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will release on August 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Square Enix Announced Deus Ex Go

Square Enix Montreal has announced Deus Ex Go. Similar to Tomb Raider Go and Hitman Go, Deus Ex Go is a turn based puzzle game. You’ll use augmentations and hacking to overcome obstacles. By hacking terminals, you can create new paths, disable turrets, and more. Similar to past Go games, you swipe in the direction you’d like to move. Deus Ex Go will be out this summer for mobile and tablets. I’m a fan for the GO games and I can’t wait play it. What do you think of Deus Ex Go ?
