Nintendo Has Sold 15 Million 3DS’s In The United States

Nintendo has announced that  they have 15 million 3DS’s in the United States. The 3DS was first launched in March 2011 and the handheld continues to find traction. Nintendo reports that sales are up 50% for the first 6 months of 2015 as compared to the same period in 2014, coinciding with the release of the New 3DS XL in the United States. Do you own a 3DS ? Unity Game Engine Coming To New 3DS

Unity has announced that the game engine will be making it way on Nintendo’s New 3DS. The New 3DS features improved 3D, a C-stick for added control, extra shoulder buttons, and more power, will soon be able to support titles using the Unity engine. For Nintendo, this can create another point of differentiation between the older 3DS and the New 3DS and New 3DS XL. Currently, only one game is available requiring the new hardware, which is Xenoblade Chronicles 3D.

Flight Attendants Don’t Want You To Play Games During Takeoff

A United States flight attendants union recently argued in court for an effective reversal of the government's new rules that allow people to use their electronics, including video game systems like the 3DS and PS Vita during all phases of flight. The Wall Street Journal report that that the Association of Flight Attendants wants the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to reverse its guidelines. They’ve said that small electronics can become projectiles during turbulence, and that people don’t pay attention to important safety announcements when they are distracted by those devices. A lawyer for the US government said in court that cellphones and other, similar devices aren't any more dangerous than books that passengers have always been allowed to keep out during all stages of flight. In October 2013, the FAA announced the new rules, which allowed for expanded passenger use of portable electronics during takeoffs and landings. Before this you had to turn off a stow these devices. Might as well ban in flight snacks and soda bottles on planes while you’re at it. Do you agree with the flight attendants or do you think that this is just a waste.

Nintendo's New 3DS And 3DS XL Will Be Region Locked

A Nintendo representative has said that the situation will be exactly the same as for the current family of Nintendo 3DS systems. The New Nintendo 3DS was announced on August 29 during a Nintendo Direct. With new features such as an analog control stick, faster CPU, two new buttons, Amiibo support and changeable cover plates. The New 3DS’s will launch in Japan on October 11, 2014, as for other territories a release date is unknown at this time.
