Overwatch League All-Access Twitch Pass Has Exclusive Content

The Overwatch League has announced an All-Access Pass on Twitch for all things Overwatch League.

For the 2018 OWL season, the $29.99 pass is "an evolving VIP badge" that gives fans perks that include:

• Overwatch League Command Center access, which allows fans to view different camera angles from in-game, backstage, and player perspectives with real-time stats
• Behind-the-scenes videos on demand, which in Stage 3 will be pro player's analyzing matches
• Participation in Match Day AMAs where questions can be submitted to pro players after broadcasts
• OWL-inspired skins for each character, along with an OWL player icon and spray to be used in the game
• Twenty-three emotes to use in a subscriber-only Twitch chat room
• Wearable in game and Twitch chat badge

The first three listed incentives can be tried out for free until May 15.

Overwatch League Viewers Can Now Earn Skins And More Just By Watching

Those who tune into the Overwatch League on Twitch have a chance to earn virtual League Tokens, in-game rewards, and more just by watching. Overwatch League and Twitch state this new program will "represent the future of the online experience for esports fans." The program begins with something called Overwatch League Cheering, a Twitch-based feature that rewards players for cheering with a virtual item called Bits. Viewers who participate with Bits can unlock limited-time Overwatch League home-team hero skins, emotes, and team-branded items. Your Bit usage is also tracked via a leaderboard that shows who has cheered the most.  You can also earn League Tokens just by watching a match through to its conclusion. All viewers will earn just one League Token for watching a match, but a percentage of these people will randomly be awarded 100 Tokens. You'll first need to link your Blizzard Battle.net account with Twitch, MLG.com, or OverwatchLeague.com to be able to earn the virtual currency.

Overwatch Players Can Watch Overwatch League In App And New League Currency Introduced

The Overwatch League is here and with it is the introduction of  new league skins, which allow you to rep your favorite team with colors for your characters. These costumes are only purchasable with League Tokens. Anyone who logs in before February 13 receives 100 tokens free, normally a $5 cost. Those 100 tokens by you any one character's colors. There are 12 total colors and 24 total characters, so if you wanted to get all the colors for every character, minus the one color you get for free, you're looking at about $1432.13 maximum. If that seems insane and you only want to cover your team, it'll cost you $114.17. Other token purchases can be made in other increments, including 2600 tokens for $100. On the plus side, 50 % goes to the teams. The update will also add the ability to watch league matches within the client. It does not cost you anything. Overwatch League Getting City Based Teams

Activision Blizzard has announced the first city-based teams for the Overwatch League. The first seven cities and owners are:

• Robert Kraft, Chairman and CEO of the Kraft Group and the New England Patriots (Boston)
  
• Jeff Wilpon, Co-Founder and Partner of Sterling.VC and COO of the New York Mets (New York)
  
• Noah Whinston, CEO of Immortals (Los Angeles)
  
• Ben Spoont, CEO and Co-Founder of Misfits Gaming (Miami-Orlando)
  
• Andy Miller, Chairman and Founder of NRG Esports (San Francisco)
  
• NetEase (Shanghai)
  
• Kevin Chou, Co-Founder of Kabam (Seoul)
  

The league is scheduled to start later in 2017, with the full season starting in 2018.
