• PlayStation Early Access: Pre-order the game on PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 to receive a code to the beta that will run from 10 a.m. PT, Sept. 16, to Sept. 20.
• PlayStation Open Beta: This beta will run from 10 a.m. PT, Sept. 18, to Sept. 20 and will be accessible to all PlayStation players.

Warcraft Arclight Rumble Coming To Mobile Later This Year

Later this year, Warcraft players can expect a new mobile game for iOS and Android. Blizzard has unveiled the first trailer for Warcraft Arclight Rumble, a free-to-play single-player strategy game. Players will be able to control collectible Warcraft Minis in order to battle wicked Warcraft commanders in the game.

According to the Google Play store description, users will be able to create armies from five different families: Alliance, Horde, Beast, Undead, and Blackrock. Players can choose to play in single-player mode or compete in PvP combat. Conquest, Dungeons, Raids, and Co-Op will all be available in Arclight Rumble. In total, the game includes over 60 Warcraft Minis and characters, with the option to gain new talents and enhance characters as you progress through the game. The game's website includes even more information, including the ability to pre-register for more information. A release date is unknown at this time.

There Will Be No New Call Of Duty In 2023

Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty franchise will take a year off for the first time in over two decades, according to a new Bloomberg report.

This means that no Call of Duty game will be launched in 2023, a significant move for a brand that has released new entries every year since 2005. According to Bloomberg, Activision Blizzard moved the release of Call of Duty from 2023 to 2024 as a result of Call of Duty: Vanguard. Vanguard fell short of expectations, and some executives at Activision believe that new Call of Duty games are being released much too often for each to have the same impact as past installments.

This decision has nothing to do with Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard. In reality, Microsoft has no control over the publisher because the deal isn't expected to finalize until next year at the earliest.

Treyarch is creating the game that will be released in 2024, following Activision Blizzard's three-studio rotation for making Call of Duty entries (Infinity Ward creates one, Treyarch develops another, Sledgehammer Games develops a third, and then it's back to Infinity Ward). While Treyarch's Call of Duty will be delayed for at least another year, Bloomberg reports that Activision Blizzard will have other projects to occupy the year 2023.

A new Call of Duty, a sequel to Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare , will be launched this year, and that's one of the content pipelines Activision Blizzard will have heading into 2023. This year will also see the debut of a sequel to the free-to-play battle royale game Warzone. In addition, Bloomberg reports that a "new free-to-play online title" will be released next year, with Treyarch contributing to its development. However, the article does not specify whether or not this will be a Call of Duty game.

“We have an exciting slate of premium and free-to-play Call of Duty experiences for this year, next year, and beyond,” an Activision Blizzard spokesperson told Bloomberg in an email. “We look forward to sharing more details when the time is right.” 

Microsoft’s President Would Like Call Of Duty To Come To Nintendo Switch

Microsoft is planning to release a number of significant Activision Blizzard titles on platforms other than the Xbox Series consoles including the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. In an interview with CNBC's Eamon Javers, Microsoft President Brad Smith repeated that this is what the business wants to do and that it makes financial sense. During Mr. Smith's interview, the subject of Call of Duty came up, and he claimed that they will continue to deliver the game to PlayStation systems, as well as the Nintendo Switch, which has never received a Call of Duty game.

Microsoft Says Sony And Nintendo Will Continue Getting Popular Activision Blizzard Games

A substantial number of gamers were concerned when it was revealed last month that Microsoft was in the process of purchasing Activision Blizzard. Microsoft stated that the popular Activision Blizzard titles will no longer be exclusive to Xbox and will instead continue to be released on Sony's PlayStation, even when the present arrangement between Activision Blizzard and Sony expires. Brad Smith, Microsoft's President and Vice Chair, said on the firm's official blog that the business is looking into "taking similar efforts to assist Nintendo's successful platform." “Microsoft will continue to make Call of Duty and other popular Activision Blizzard titles available on PlayStation through the term of any existing agreement with Activision. And we have committed to Sony that we will also make them available on PlayStation beyond the existing agreement and into the future so that Sony fans can continue to enjoy the games they love. We are also interested in taking similar steps to support Nintendo’s successful platform. We believe this is the right thing for the industry, for gamers and for our business.”

Microsoft Will Acquire Activision Blizzard For $70 Billion

 Microsoft has announced the acquisition of Activsion Blizzard on their official website. Call of Duty, Warcraft, Candy Crush, Tony Hawk, Diablo, Overwatch, Spyro, Hearthstone, Guitar Hero, Crash Bandicoot, StarCraft, and many more will now be owned by Microsoft. According to reports, the sale was worth $70 billion. Other than what has already been revealed, it is unknown whether the Nintendo Switch will receive additional Activision Blizzard titles. Last year, Microsoft paid $7.5 billion for Bethesda Softworks.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Reveal Event Coming This Week Inside Warzone

The next game in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty:
Vanguard will seemingly be revealed this Thursday, August 19, within Call of Duty: Warzone. Multiple social media users have reported that the PlayStation Store has begun to show advertisements for the reveal, which say an event will take place at 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET / 6:30pm UK (August 20 at 3:30am AEST). 

Call of Duty: Warzone Gets Objective Based Mode, Payload

Activision's latest addition to Call of Duty: Warzone is an objective-based mode called Payload. In a first for the game, the mission will be added to the rotating playlists as part of Season Four Reloaded (which is available now).

Payload splits players in two teams of 20 that are tasked with either escorting or attacking vehicles transporting satellite parts. Each team must complete their objective within time limit.

Crash Bandicoot: On the Run Comes To iOS And Android Later This Month

 King Digital Entertainment has announced Crash Bandicoot: On the Run will come to mobile devices on March 25. 

Players will encounter classic characters, bosses, enemies, and levels. As for the story, Crash's old nemesis, Dr. Neo Cortex is back at it trying to conquer the multiverse alongside his menacing henchmen like Scorporilla, Nitrus Brio, Dingodile, and more. As usual, it's up to Crash and his sister Coco to stop Cortex. The stages players can expect to run through include Temple Ruins, Turtle Woods, and Bear It. In addition to the platforming challenges, you can look forward to weapons crafting and customizable characters.

You can preregister for Crash Bandicoot: On the Run on iOS or Android to receive an exclusive Blue Hyena skin on launch day. Crash Bandicoot: On the Run hits the App Store and Google Play on March 25.

The Haunting Of Verdansk Call of Duty Event Adds Jigsaw, Texas Chainsaw Massacre And More

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Halloween event is here and with the new update comes two iconic horror characters skins. Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface arrives as well as Jigsaw from the Saw franchise.

“As Halloween draws near, a squad of operators drops in for what seems to be a normal infiltration into Verdansk, though there’s been back-channel chatter about some unexplained and odd occurrences across the remote areas of the map," reads the latest blog post about the seasonal event. "Operators have been briefed about reports concerning a serial killer who wears his victim’s faces on his own. There’s scattered intel about strange sounds emanating from various locations within the warzone; and not least the piercing, creepy laugher of a ventriloquist doll.

“It isn’t long before hell breaks loose: One by one, the squad is brutally picked off until there is just one survivor, who after a confrontation with Verdansk’s own urban legend, vows to return under the cover of night and avenge his brothers in arms.”

Special supply boxes contain spooky new gear and ways to customize, all in the name of adding that personal touch when taking to the event's new modes. A new Zombies mode has also invaded Warzone.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the next game in the series. It will be a direct sequel to 2010’s Black Ops 1. It’s set in 1981 at the height of the Cold War, and fan favorite character’s Mason, Woods, and Hudson are returning in the campaign. There will be three versions of the game available to purchase. A standard edition for $59.99, a cross-gen bundle for $69.99, and an ultimate edition for $89.99.All PlayStation 4 versions come with early access to the open beta, operator Frank Woods, and an immediate-use assault rifle blueprint. The standard edition is interesting, as it will also play on PlayStation 5, but through backwards compatibility. It won't have new-gen features, like being able to run the game at 4K/120FPS. You'll have to upgrade to the cross-gen bundle to get the update that enhances the game for PlayStation 5. The ultimate edition comes with a free download for the PlayStation 5 version. You'll also get the Land, Sea, and Air pack, three operator skins, 3 vehicle skins, three weapon blueprints, the Confrontation weapons pack, and a battle pass bundle with 20 tier skips. It should be noted that the standard physical editions of the game do not come with several of the digital standard edition perks, including the Frank Woods operator pack and early access to the multiplayer open beta. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Official Revealed

Activision and Toys for Bob have announced that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. Crash Bandicoot 4's story picks up right after the events of Crash Bandcioot: Warped, the last entry developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation 1, with Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka trapped on a faraway planet. The trio worked for decades figure out a way to tear apart the fabric of space-time to return to the past.

Unlike the original three games made by Naughty Dog, Cortex is a playable character in specific levels that are designed just for him. You’ll find these stages across the dimensional map. Cortex can’t jump like the bandicoots, but can dash quickly forward and use other devices to aid him along the way. Other characters are also playable, but they won’t be unveiled until closer to launch.

Another new addition centers on the masks. The trailer shows of two of the four Quantum masks named Ika-Ika and Kupuna-Wa, both deal with time manipulation.

“In the classic games, once you touch a Nitro crates, you died,” says Paul Yan, Toys for Bob’s chief creative officer and co-studio head. “Using the Kupuna-Wa mask, she’s able to slow things down so much that you are able to touch a Nitro crates and escape the explosion. The player will need to be strategic to determine when to use that power to get past those crates.”

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Cover Art Has Leaked

It looks like a new Crash Bandicoot game announcement is on the horizon. The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has rated Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is developed by Spyro Reignited Trilogy studio Toys for Bob.

Here is the description that accompanies the rating:

“Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.”

Activision has began teasing the announcement of a new Crash Bandicoot, as members of the press reported receiving a 200-piece puzzle that depicts a new mask which you can see on the leaked cover art.

Infinity Ward Cracking Down On Racist Players

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has announced it will be adding additional resources to ban racist names from its games.

In a tweet they announced additional counter-measures to ensure users with racist and hate-oriented names are banned from its servers and games. The studio says that while it already bans users for offensive names, there will be additional counter-measures in place to ensure racist names don't slip past its filters.

This includes adding Additional resources to monitor and ID racist content, adding additional in-game reporting systems to increase the number of bans by hour, adding filters and greater restrictions on name changes, evaluating in-game improvements to make it easier to report offenses, and increasing permanent bans to root out repeat offenders.”

In a statement, Infinity Ward says, “There is no place for racist content in our game. This is an effort we began with launch and we need to do a better job. We’re issuing thousands of daily bans of racist and hate-oriented names. But we know we have more to do.” “We apologize to our players. This is our commitment to you, our fans, thank you.”

Call of Duty: Warzone Announced, Free To Play Battle Royale

Activision has announced Call of Duty: Warzone, a new free-to-play battle royale game that delivers massive 150-player battles. Call of Duty: Warzone launches tomorrow (March 10th) at 8 A.M. PDT on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Here’s everything you need to know. 

Modes

Players can jump into two different modes: Battle Royale, which is exactly as you would expect with a gas cloud slowly grouping everyone together until only one team is left standing, and Plunder, a new style of play that pushes teams to collect as much cash as they can before the match ends. To earn money in Plunder, you can sneak off on your own and loot to your heart's content, complete in-match contracts, and hunt down other players and steal the hauls they've gathered.

Maps

Players drop into Verdansk, a thriving city/battlefield that has over 300 points of interest. These locations include Gora Dam and Gorengard Lumberyard. Verdansk is a sprawling coastal city that just happens to be set at the foot of a giant mountain. Sections of the map offer long sight lines, and other areas push players to use close-quarters tactics to dart in and out of buildings.

Vehicles

Vehicles are scattered everywhere. In Warzone, players can hop onto an ATV, Tactical Rover, SUV and helicopter to terrain the map.
