Here’s What Comes In Each Edition For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) And How Much They Cost

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28, 2022 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. It has a campaign, a co-op special ops mode, and online multiplayer, as well as tons of free online content planned for the future.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Sequel And Warzone 2 Coming This Year

A Call of Duty community update has provided fans a first glimpse at Season 2 of Warzone and upcoming bigger releases. Specifically, the fall-themed yearly title, which has been revealed to be the long-rumored sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare remake.

The future sequel, as well as a new Warzone experience, will be built jointly utilizing a new engine "from the ground up," according to the blog post. Yes, Warzone is getting a successor, which will be a "massive evolution of Battle Royale" with a new battleground and sandbox mode, according to the article. Both games are being developed by Infinity Ward.

Season Two of Call of Duty: Vanguard/Warzone is now availale. T here are over 30 updates planned, including:

• Improvements in all forms of movement: vehicle handling, parachutes deploying at a lower vertical height, increased player mantle height, and collision fixes for both vehicles and players.
• The Gas Mask animation no longer interrupting Operators who aim down sights.
• When inserting Armor Plates, it refills a full plate of armor before filling damaged ones.
• Performance and streaming issues, including Buy Station freezes, voice chat connectivity, and distorted graphics, across all platforms.
• Specific Operator skins being invisible at certain distances.
• Blockages to Modern Warfare Multiplayer, which is tied to Warzone’s launcher.

The Haunting Of Verdansk Call of Duty Event Adds Jigsaw, Texas Chainsaw Massacre And More

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Halloween event is here and with the new update comes two iconic horror characters skins. Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface arrives as well as Jigsaw from the Saw franchise.

“As Halloween draws near, a squad of operators drops in for what seems to be a normal infiltration into Verdansk, though there’s been back-channel chatter about some unexplained and odd occurrences across the remote areas of the map," reads the latest blog post about the seasonal event. "Operators have been briefed about reports concerning a serial killer who wears his victim’s faces on his own. There’s scattered intel about strange sounds emanating from various locations within the warzone; and not least the piercing, creepy laugher of a ventriloquist doll.

“It isn’t long before hell breaks loose: One by one, the squad is brutally picked off until there is just one survivor, who after a confrontation with Verdansk’s own urban legend, vows to return under the cover of night and avenge his brothers in arms.”

Special supply boxes contain spooky new gear and ways to customize, all in the name of adding that personal touch when taking to the event's new modes. A new Zombies mode has also invaded Warzone. 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC Players Can Now Reduce The Size Of The Game

 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC players can now reduce the amount of space the game takes up on their computers.

While it won't make the actual file size of any of the game modes any smaller, PC players now have the ability to choose which parts of Modern Warfare they have installed or uninstalled at any given time. For example, if you’ve already played the campaign and wish to delete it for space, you can now do so. This feature is also available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Currently the full game is taking up more than 240 GB of storage on some PCs. So this this a welcomed change for the PC version of the game. 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 5 Begins August 5

Call of Duty: Warzone Gets 200 Player Mode

For a limited-time  in Call of Duty: Warzone, the BR mode ups the stakes, with more players than ever before. Starting now during Season 4, players can suit up with up to 199 other players in Call of Duty's battle royale experience.

The 200-player mode is limited to quads, so this means up to 50 teams battling it out for that sweet victory. Enjoy the mode while you can, it probably won’t be around for long.

Infinity Ward Cracking Down On Racist Players

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has announced it will be adding additional resources to ban racist names from its games.

In a tweet they announced additional counter-measures to ensure users with racist and hate-oriented names are banned from its servers and games. The studio says that while it already bans users for offensive names, there will be additional counter-measures in place to ensure racist names don't slip past its filters.

This includes adding Additional resources to monitor and ID racist content, adding additional in-game reporting systems to increase the number of bans by hour, adding filters and greater restrictions on name changes, evaluating in-game improvements to make it easier to report offenses, and increasing permanent bans to root out repeat offenders.”

In a statement, Infinity Ward says, “There is no place for racist content in our game. This is an effort we began with launch and we need to do a better job. We’re issuing thousands of daily bans of racist and hate-oriented names. But we know we have more to do.” “We apologize to our players. This is our commitment to you, our fans, thank you.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Kicks Off Next Week (Update)

UPDATE (6/10/20) - Season 4 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will begin tonight, June 10, at 11pm PT / June 11 at 2am ET / June 11 7am BST.

UPDATE (6/3/20) - Activision has postpone Season 4 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Season 7 and Call of Duty: Mobile. A new date for each is unknown at this time. This is there statement:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Possibly Getting A Battle Royale Mode In March

It looks like a battle royale mode is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The biggest sign of all is a look at what appears to be the whole map. The first indicator of battle royale can be seen in a new option has been added to the main menu if you download the Season 2 update for Modern Warfare, which currently reads "CLASSIFIED".

Further evidence that it could be a battle royale mode starts with the opening cinematic that plays when you first boot up Season 2. At the 1:20 mark in the cinematic, soldiers are seen jumping out of a plane onto what appears to be a much larger map than usual.

There's no official word on whether Modern Warfare is getting a battle royale mode. But the current rumor for the arrival of the battle royale is sometime in March. Thought ?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 Gunfight Alpha Is Available Now

If you want to give Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's 2v2 Gunfight a try, you're in luck if you own a PS4. Now and through the weekend, players can dive in to an alpha experience. Players have 5 maps to explore in the bite-size Call of Duty battles that Gunfight brings to the table. This alpha does not require a preorder and is a free download on the PS Store.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer Beta Happening In September

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases in the fall, it'll come with a handful of multiplayer modes, including classic options like Team Deathmatch, Domination and Headquarters, plus a 2v2 Gunfight option (with local splitscreen), Cyber Attack (new version of  Search and Destroy) and Ground War (50v50). Ground War supports more than 100 players in traditional team-based multiplayer matches, though it also allows smaller rounds like 20v20.

The Modern Warfare open beta kicks off, exclusively for PS4 players, on September 12th. The Early Access beta runs from September 12th - 13th, while the open beta will be from September 14th - 16th, both only on PS4. Players on other platforms can jump in the following weekend. Early Access for Xbox One and PC is September 19th and 20th, and the PS4 beta will be live those days as well. The open beta for all platforms happens from September 21st - 23rd.

Modern Warfare marks Infinity Ward's return to its roots, as a Call of Duty studio. The game features characters from the original Modern Warfare, such as Captain John Price, but in other ways, it's been completely upgraded. Authenticity is key for developers, from getting the layered sounds of individual bullets firing just right, to offering a plethora of weapon customization options in Gunsmith mode along with Special Ops mode and Improvements to multiplayer. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on October 25th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
