During the Microsoft October event, the company announced the Surface Book i7, a refresh that focuses on power. Giving the name, the new Surface Books has a Core i7, but you also get 2x the graphics performance with a GeForce GTX 965M. There's also a larger battery that promises up to 16 hours of battery life in laptop mode. The Surface Book i7 will cost $2,399 when it ships on November 10th.

Just about everything is glued or soldered, and the "upside down" circuitry means that you'll be yanking out the whole motherboard to access parts. About the only thing you can replace is the solid state drive, and that's provided that you can get the system open. This is disappointing but not surprising as this isn’t anything new as even Apple makes it impossible to change any internal components. What do you think of Microsoft taking this approach ?

It has a 13.5-inch screen, featuring 267 dpi and 6 million pixels. The Surface Book is set to include an Intel processor and an Nvidia GeForce GPU, GDDR5 memory, and 12 hours of battery life. Microsoft also claims that the Surface Book is 50% faster than the MacBook Pro. The Surface Book will be available for pre-order onOctober 7 and will release on October 26. The Surface Book will cost you $1,499.
