Video game analyst, Daniel Ahmad, at Niko Partners has revealed via Nintendo’s Historical Sales archive how current and past Nintendo hardware has performed in the Americas. Here’s the results:

Home Consoles
  • 34.00m – NES
  • 23.35m – SNES
  • 20.63m – N64
  • 12.93m – GCN
  • 48.64m – Wii
  • 6.29m -Wii U
Handheld Consoles 
  • 44.06m -GB/C
  • 41.64m -GBA/SP
  • 59.93m -NDS Family

Nintendo Discontinuing The Nintendo DSi Shop Soon


Nintendo Japan has announced they they will be discontinuing the services related to the Nintendo DSi Shop. You can read all the details regarding the move, below. Nintendo plans to end all services related to the DSi shop in two phases: one in September 2016, and a second one in March 2017. The ability to re-download Nintendo DSi Ware games will stop at some point in the future, no date was given. More details will be announced soon. This doesn’t apply to games transferred to a Nintendo 3DS, which will remain re-downloadable even when the Nintendo DSi Shop is fully discontinued.

Play These DS Games on Wii U Virtual Console


Earlier this month during a Nintendo Direct we hound out that DS games are making their way to the Wii U Virtual Console. This week Yoshi Touch & Go and WarioWare Touched! will be released and will be available for $9.99 each.
