Minecraft Update 1.0 Ender Coming To Mobile, Gear VR And Windows 10 By The End Of Year


Minecraft developer Mojang has announced a major update is coming to the Windows 10, Pocket, and Gear VR editions of Minecraft later this year. Titled the 1.0 Ender Update, this will finally bring The End dimension and the Ender Dragon boss battle to Windows 10 and mobile users. The update will also raise the current 128-block world height to 256 blocks. The update will be free for everyone who already owns a copy of the Pocket Edition, Gear VR Edition, or the Windows 10 version of Minecraft. It's also worth noting the upcoming Apple TV Edition will feature all of the content included in this update as well. A beta for the Ender 1.0 Update is available now for Android users, while the full update will launch in sometime before the end of 2016.

Samsung Halting Production Of The Galaxy Note 7 + Oculus Stops Support For The Note 7 For Gear VR


Samsung's has announced that they have halted global sales of the Galaxy Note 7, issuing a statement telling owners to power down and stop using the handset as it could pose a safety hazard. Samsung is urging owners to stop using the Note 7 as the company works with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on an investigation into a "battery cell problem" that could in some cases cause the handset to catch fire or explode. "Because consumers' safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note 7 while the investigation is taking place," the company said. "We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note 7 device should power down and stop using the device and take advantage of the remedies available." In other Galaxy Note 7 news, Oculus is removing support for all Note 7 devices for Gear VR.

Xbox Controller Support Coming To Gear VR


Microsoft has announced controller support for Samsung's Gear VR headset. Minecraft: Gear VR Edition will be the first game to make use of the feature. An update will be next month that will allow controller compatibility with the game. You'll also need to make sure you have the latest update for the Xbox accessory as well, which is already available. When the game update arrives in October, all you'll need to do is download it and connect the controller via Bluetooth to start playing. Microsoft says it's working to bring Xbox controller support to Gear VR games and more details will be available in the coming months.

Samsung Announces Galaxy Note 7, Gear 360 Camera And A New Gear VR Headset


Samsung hosted a media event in New York City, where it introduced the Galaxy Note7, a new Gear VR headset powered by Oculus, and the Gear 360 camera. All 3 products will be available in the United States starting on August 19, pre-orders are now available. The Galaxy Note7 is 5.7-inch and adopts several design and hardware features of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, including a 2,560×1,440 Super AMOLED dual curved display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core 64-bit 14nm processor, 4GB of RAM, 12-megapixel Dual Pixel rear-facing camera, wireless charging, and IP68-rated waterproofing. The Galaxy Note7 features a built-in iris scanner for unlocking the smartphone with your eyes, 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card, a larger 3,500mAh battery, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC for contactless payments, and a USB-C connector. The device will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.  The Galaxy Note7 comes in Blue Coral, Silver Titanium, and Black Onyx launches at AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular on August 19. Pricing will be similar to previous Note devices, amounting to around $750 to $800. 

The smartphone will also be available at Amazon, Best Buy, Sam's Club, Target, and select Walmart stores. An unlocked version will be released at a later date. For a limited time, Samsung will gift customers who buy a Galaxy Note7 or Galaxy S7 edge with the choice of a free Gear Fit2 or 256GB memory card. A new line of accessories will be available alongside the smartphone, including the new Gear 360 camera, available online on August 19 for $349, that can be paired to record immersive 360-degree videos. A new S-View Standing Cover will be able to prop the device at a 60-degree angle for easy viewing of content, and a water resistant battery backpack accessory for on the go charging. The Galaxy Note7 can also be used with Samsung's New Gear VR headset, which now features a more comfortable design, larger and completely flat touchpad, dual USB-C and Micro USB compatibility, and a wider field of view. The headset will still cost $99, with pre-orders starting now and will also launch on August 19.

Hitman GO Gets A VR Edition


Square Enix has released a new version of Hitman Go, which allows you to play it in VR. Hitman Go: VR Edition is available for download on Samsung Gear VR and Oculus Rift. This version of the game includes all of the levels that were available in previous versions of the Hitman Go, along with the Opera, Airport, and St. Petersburg boxes updates. Hitman Go: VR Edition will cost you $7.99 on Gear VR and $9.99 on the Oculus Rift.

Minecraft Is Now Available For Samsung Gear VR


Minecraft has come to Virtual Reality. Mojang’s sandbox game will include 2 VR modes. You can either play in a Minecraft cabin while watching the action on a virtual screen or in the first person. Minecraft Gear VR Edition supports both creative and survival modes. You can use all of the features of Minecraft Pocket Edition, including skins and multiplayer. It’s available know on the Gear VR store for $6.99.

Pre Order The Galaxy S7 And Get A Free Gear VR


According to AndroidWorld, those who pre-order the Galaxy S7 series before it launches on March 11 will get a free Gear VR headset. You’ll be able to place your order soon after Samsung announces the Galaxy S7 on February 21, but the handsets won’t actually be available until March 11. Those who buy before March 10 will be eligible. We’ll have to wait until Samsung confirms this along with how much the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will cost.

Samsung Gear VR Is Getting A Web Browser


Samsung is releasing a web browser for their Gear VR, which will allow users to use a web browser and stream video without downloading apps. The web browser for Gear VR will support 360 degree and 3D video streaming, as well as HTML5 video.  Which means Youtube videos will be supported in the web browser. Internet for VR also features voice recognition support along with an on-screen keyboard. An interesting feature of the Gear VR is the “Gaze Mode”, which gives users the ability to pick and choose things by just staring at them. Samsung Internet for VR launches on December 2, on the Oculus Store. You'll need a Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy Note 5 to use the Gear VR.

The Samsung Gear VR Will Be Available On November 20


Oculus and Samsung have announced that the Gear VR is now available for pre-order and will ship on November 20. The retail version of the Gear VR is 19% lighter, features a redesigned touchpad, and is compatible with a wider range of phones compared to the Innovator Edition.  You can use the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, S6, and S6 edge.You can pre-order the Gear VR with Samsung, Best Buy and Amazon. The Gear VR will cost you $99. I'm interested to see how well this sells. It might be a good estimate to see if people are interested in VR and what the future of VR could look like. Yes I know the Oculus Rift is WAY more powerful but The Gear VR could be a way to expose people to VR and in return sell more Oculus Rift's. What do you think ?

Samsung Gear VR Coming Out Next Month

Samsung's Gear VR will release sometime is December, Oculus VR announced on there website. The Gear VR  for the Galaxy Note 4 is available for pre registration from Samsung. It will come in 2 versions for $249, you’ll get the headset bundled with a Bluetooth gamepad, and for $199, you’ll just get the headset.

Harmonix Working On Something For Samsung’s Gear VR


Harmonix, the studio that brought us such titles as Rock Band and Dance Central, is working on a new project for Samsung's Gear VR headset.We don’t know if Harmonix's Gear VR project is a game or something else. Harmonix is expected to reveal more details about its plans soon. Gear VR is a collaborative effort from Oculus Rift headset maker Oculus VR, The headset is unique in that is uses the Galaxy Note 4 as its screen. Paired with the headset's adjustable lenses, the Galaxy Note 4's accelerometer and gyro meter are used to track head movement to create the feeling of virtual reality. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launches worldwide this October with the Gear VR coming out some time after that.

Samsung Goes Mobile With Virtual Reality Headset

Samsung joins the Virtual reality hardware race today as they revealed the Gear VR. The headset will use an enlarged smartphone slots into the helmet's micro USB dock and acts as the screen. The helmet also as adjustable lenses built into the headset. This creates a unique headset experience that doesn’t need to be tied down by a PC. The software for Gear VR was created by Oculus VR, the team that sparked the rebirth of virtual reality with its Oculus Rift headset. Samsung has said the Gear VR will launch across North America this year. When It will be released and over seas plans have yet to be announced.
