Minecraft Spin-Off Game Minecraft: Dungeons Coming In Spring 2020


During Microsoft's E3 presentation, Mojang revealed a new spinoff of Minecraft, Minecraft: Dungeons.The game looks like it's going to allow players to explore Dungeons standalone and through multiplayer. The game seems like a diablo like style game. Minecraft: Dungeons is said to be released in spring 2020.

Minecraft Is Getting Chinese Mythology DLC In October


During Minecon 2016, Mojang announced that the console editions of Minecraft will be getting a Chinese Mythology Mash-Up pack, along with a large update on October 4. The Chinese Mythology add-on will allow players to "wander through the streets of an ancient great city" and "marvel at the dragons that dwell around the high mountains." The pack also includes 41 new skins and 13 themed music tracks, along with Minecraft's Battle mini-game that released back in June. The Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack will release across console platforms for $5. As for the large update, it will introduce new mobs, items, banners, terrain generation features like igloos and underground fossils, and more blocks such as frosted ice and beetroot. Minecraft Gets A New Free Minigame, Tumble


Mojang has just launched a new minigame for Minecraft, a lava-dodging challenge called Tumble. In Tumble, players start out on platforms that are floating above certain lava death. Armed with shovels and snowballs, it's up to each player to simultaneously undermine the ground beneath their foes while ensuring that they don't end up falling themselves. The update is available for Minecraft on consoles now for free.

Mario & Friends Are Coming To Minecraft


Nintendo is teaming up with Mojang to introduce the Super Mario Mash-Up pack as a free download to Minecraft. Players will have access to new skins which include Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, and more. The update also features Super Mario inspired music and item textures. The update adds 40 new skins and 15 pieces of music. There are new enemies too, such as   battle Hammer Bros. and Dry Bones being Creepers and Zombies. The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack will be included with Minecraft: Wii U Edition when the retail version is released on June 17. You can download the digital version of Minecraft: Wii U Edition now on the eShop for $30.

Minecraft Is Now Available For Samsung Gear VR


Minecraft has come to Virtual Reality. Mojang’s sandbox game will include 2 VR modes. You can either play in a Minecraft cabin while watching the action on a virtual screen or in the first person. Minecraft Gear VR Edition supports both creative and survival modes. You can use all of the features of Minecraft Pocket Edition, including skins and multiplayer. It’s available know on the Gear VR store for $6.99.

Minecraft Is Getting An Education Edition


Back in 2011, Minecraft: Education Edition launched as a version of the game specifically for classrooms. Microsoft has now acquired Minecraft: Education Edition and is investing in a new and expanded version. It will be available as a free trial this summer. A community will be formed at education.minecraft.net, and the site will host resources like lesson plans and a new Minecraft Mentors page that allows experienced people to connect with those playing for the first time. Minecraft Is Coming To Wii U Next Week

Microsoft have announced that Minecraft is coming to Wii U this month. Minecraft Wii U will cost $29.99, but it includes a number of packs. The packs included are as listed:
  • Battle & Beasts Skin Pack
  • Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack
  • Natural Texture Pack
  • City Texture Pack
  • Fantasy Texture Pack
  • Festive Mash-up Pack

Additionally, a number of the add-ons available on Xbox and PlayStation systems are making the jump over as DLC. 16 packs will be available to purchase at launch. The packs included are as listed:

  • The Simpsons Skin Pack
  • Doctor Who Skins Volume 1
  • Doctor Who Skins Volume 2

First Episode of Minecraft: Story Mode Is Coming In October

Telltale Games has announced that the first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode will be made available worldwide in October. The episode will be available via the Telltale Online Store, Steam, PSN, Xbox Games Store, and other digital distribution services on October 13. It will be available for iOS and Android on October 15. Also the series will be coming to Wii U and PS Vita but the date is unknown. Minecraft: Story Mode will be available on October 13 for PS4, PS3 Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

Details On Telltale’s Minecraft: Story Mode Are Coming Soon


In December 2014, Mojang and Telltale Games announced a partnership for Minecraft: Story Mode. The story driven series is due for release in 2015, but neither Mojang or Telltale has said much about it, but thats about to change soon. Telltale teased on Twitter that it will make an announcement about Story Mode this weekend at Minecon, the annual conference of all things Minecraft. Story Mode will tell an original story that's driven by what the player chooses. Minecon 2015 will be held in London, July 4-5.

Minecraft Breaks 12 World Records

Minecraft has broken 12 world records, is the newest released Guinness Book of World Records 2015: Gamer's Edition. The world records are as listed below. 


  •  Longest Marathon on Minecraft24 hours and 10 minutes, by Austrian gamer Martin Fornleitner playing on a Sony Xperia Play handset.
  • Best Selling Indie GameNot including the console versions with big publishers, Mojang has sold 16,176,201 copies on PC and Mac. Mojang's website now says that number is over 18 million.
  • Largest Indie Game Convention7500 people attended MineCon 2013.
  • First Country Modeled at Full Scale in a Video GameLast year, the Danish Geodata Agency released a 1:1-scale recreation of Denmark. Yes, every building and feature of the 16,602 square mile country was accounted for. It includes four billion blocks.
  • Largest Real-World Place Created in MinecraftThe UK Ordinance Survey created a map of Britain and its islands using 22 million blocks to cover over 86,000 square miles of land. Each block represents 538 square feet.

Telltale Takes On Minecraft In There Next Series

Mojang and Telltale are teaming up for Minecraft: Story Mode, an episodic game coming in 2015. To clarify this isn’t a add on for Minecraft, this is a collaboration between the 2 companies. Telltale recently teamed up with gearbox software to create Tales from the Borderlands. We’ll learn more in 2015 as the game’s first episode is released for PS4, PS3 Xbox One, Xbox 360 iOS, Android, and PC.

Minecraft Is Coming Soon To Windows Phone

Minecraft: Pocket Edition is coming soon to Microsoft's Windows Phone devices, recently announced by Mojang. "Yes, Minecraft: Pocket Edition is coming to the Windows Phone. The port runs already, but there's still much to do before any release." Minecraft: Pocket Edition is indeed popular. As the Pocket Edition sold over 21 million copies. You can already purchase Minecraft: Pocket Edition on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.

Microsoft Buys Minecraft Maker Mojang For $2.5 Billion

Microsoft just announced in a press release that it has acquired Mojang, makers of Minecraft, in a $2.5 billion deal. Phil Spencer (Head of Xbox) talks about the acquisition in an Xbox Wire blog post, where he confirms that the official Minecraft convention, heres what he had to say.

Minecraft quickly became the top online game on Xbox Live, with over two billion hours played on Xbox 360 in the last two years. That working relationship set the ground work for other opportunities. We’ve long seen the incredible potential of Minecraft.”

Microsoft Rumored To Buy Developer Of Minecraft Mojang

According to the Wall Street Journal Microsoft might buy Mojang and the deal would be valued at more than $2 billion and could be signed as early as this week. Minecraft is pretty much everywhere and is one of the top sailing games. How would this effect Sony if Microsoft bought Minecraft ? What would this mean for the future of Minecraft
