PlayStation VR2 To Offer Cinematic Mode, See Through View And More

Sony has provided early details about the software experience of the PlayStation VR2, not just the hardware. The company has revealed a few key features for its new generation VR headset, including support for livestreaming. You can broadcast both games and a view of yourself if you have a PS5 HD Camera. As you would expect, this might be useful for Twitch streams, YouTubers, and anyone who wish to share PSVR2 video without using capture cards or green screens.

The company also discussed how it will deal with non-VR material. The PSVR2 headset will have a 1080p "Cinematic Mode," which will display the PS5 interface and traditional games on a virtual screen at refresh rates ranging from 24Hz to 120Hz. If you've used VR previously, this will be a fairly familiar experience, but it will still be useful if you don't want to remove your headset to adjust system settings. Native VR material is shown at 4,000 x 2040 with a refresh rate of 90Hz or 120Hz.

Other well-known features exist to avoid accidents. A "see-through" option allows you to swiftly scan the environment to prevent collisions or locate your controllers. You may also create a personalized play area that will alert you if you get too close to the couch or TV. This isn't a new idea, but it might be critical for apartment dwellers and those with limited room for walk-around VR experiences.

PlayStaton Stars Is Sonys New PlayStation Loyalty Program

Sony is launching PlayStation Stars, its first-ever PlayStation-focused reward program. Grace Chen, vice president of network advertising, loyalty, and licensed products, describes PlayStation Stars as a free program that pays points for completing "campaigns" and challenges while playing games in a blog post.

Earning points may require you to "win tournaments, achieve special trophies, or even be the first player to platinum a blockbuster title in your local time zone," according to Chen. In addition, PlayStation Stars will include a "monthly check-in" campaign that gamers may complete just by playing a game.

Points may be used for incentives such as PSN wallet dollars or certain PS Store merchandise. Users who subscribe to PlayStation Plus also benefit from the automated accumulation of reward points while completing purchases.

Loyalty points may also be used to purchase "digital collectibles." Digital figurines of game characters or ancient PlayStation gadgets are examples given in the text. These treasures will undoubtedly vary in rarity, with Chen adding that gamers would always have "super rare" goods to pursue.

These collectibles may appear to be NFTs, but they are not. As Chen insists in a Washington Post interview, these digital objects cannot be bought or sold, and PlayStation Stars makes no use of blockchain technology. "It's definitely not NFTs." "Definitely not," Chen adds.

The Last Of Us Multiplayer Will Be A Standalone Title In 2023

Various little but significant details about The Last of Us world, including information on what is now a separate multiplayer title based in the post-apocalyptic world.

Originally, a multiplayer component was intended for The Last of Us Part 2's release. However, prior to the release of that game, Naughty Dog decided to cut that element of the game and instead focus on the campaign. It was also evident at the time that the multiplayer experience was still in the works and was growing in scale. Today's release demonstrates that the expansion has grown to be its own full game.

The game has been in development for around two years. It has a fresh cast of people, yet many of the items they use appear to be identical to those seen in The Last of Us Part 2's campaign; the protagonists hold weapons and Molotov cocktails even as pandemonium erupts on the overgrown streets below them.

Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann was honest in admitting that they would not be providing detailed details on the project at this time, but they did offer a piece of concept art depicting survivors staring out over what seems to be San Francisco. We'll have to wait a little longer before we can play the game, since Druckmann hinted that we'd see more of the project next year in 2023.

The Last Of US Remake Coming To PS5 In September, PC At A Later Date

On September 2nd, a remake of 2013's The Last Of Us will be released on the PlayStation 5. Sony released a teaser showcasing some of The Last of Us Part I's stunning visuals and announced that the remake will also be available on PC. The package also contains the excellent Left Behind expansion.

The developers used original performances by Ashley Johnson, Troy Baker, and the rest of the cast, but used a new AI and revamped the fighting. The effects and exploration have been improved as well. The team is utilizing 3D audio as well as the DualSense controller's adjustable triggers and haptic feedback. There will also be additional accessibility features than in the original game, expanding on the comprehensive options in The Last of Us Part II. More information will be released in the following months.

The remake is a full-priced $70 game. If you buy the $80 Digital Deluxe edition, you'll have early access to several goods and features, such as a speedrun option, exploding arrows , weapon skins, and modifications for speedier manufacturing and healing. All of these features are included in the $100 Firefly edition, as well as a steelbook cover for the physical version and four issues of the The Last of Us: American Dreams comic. There are also pre-order bonuses for each edition.

Stray Releases For PS5, PS4 And PC In July

A new teaser for Stray, the cute cat game initially shown in 2020, was released, with fresh gameplay graphics and the wonderful news that we can play it next month.

Stray will be released on July 19 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. The trailer showed more of the game's behind-the-cat, third-person action. As previously seen, this wandering cat lives in a cyberpunk-esque environment full of robots and other creatures. In terms of the stray cat's role, it appears they're on a mission to aid the residents of this realm and, eventually, find a route home.

Here's what publisher Annapurna Interactive has to say about Stray: "In Stray, players take the role of a stray cat who must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten cybercity amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Along the way, the cat befriends a small flying drone, known only as B12. With the help of this newfound companion, the duo must find a way out."
