Sony Auctions The First 20th Anniversary PS4 For Charity

Sony has recently  auctioned off number 00001 of 12300 of the 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 for a charity. The console sold for ¥15,135,000 ($128,538) after 1,585 bids. Sony will be donating the purchase price and a matching gift to the charity Save the Children Japan. The 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 consoles are decorated in a color scheme meant to match the look of the original PlayStation.

Another 20th Anniversary PS4 Sells For A Hefty Price On eBay

Those who were able to purchase a 20th Anniversary PS4 are turning to eBay to sell there consoles. The PS4 system went on sale the evening of December 6 during PlayStation Experience. Sony manufactured just 12,300 of the consoles, with each unit individually numbered. A 20th Anniversary PS4 sold for $20,100, while another went for $15,100 which you can read about here. The system original sold for $500. The 20th Anniversary PS4 is modeled after the Original PlayStation, which went on sale in Japan on December 3, 1994. This most likely won’t be the last 20th Anniversary PS4 we see sell for a ridiculous price. Have a look for yourself on eBay.

20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 Sells For Ridiculous Price On eBay

A Playstation 4 20th Anniversary Edition has sold for 15K on eBay over the weekend. The listing for the PlayStation 4 received 106 bids which eventually brought the price up to $15,100.00. The PlayStation 4 for only up for bidding for a single day. This isn’t surprising as Sony has said that there will only be 12,300 of the 20th Anniversary Playstation 4 made. The only way to get your hands on the 20th Anniversary Playstation 4 now is through eBay, as when the console went on sale over the weekend it sold out within the first minute of its release on Sonys website. The console is a tribute to the 20th Anniversary of the first Playstation released on December 3, 1994 in Japan.

20th anniversary PS4 Console To Celebrate 20 Years Of PlayStation

Today is the 20th Anniversary of the release for the PlayStation 1. To celebrate this anniversary Sony is releasing a 20th Anniversary Edition of its PS4 console. The new model, which comes in the same 'Original Grey' finish as the first PlayStation that first launched in Japan on December 3, 1994, will be available in extremely limited quantities for $499/€499. Just 12,300 of the consoles will be released worldwide, to reflect the launch date of the original console. Sony has yet to say how you'll be able to get your hands on the console, full details about how and where you'll be able to place a pre order will most likely be revealed at this weekend's PlayStation Experience, during the opening keynote on December 6 at 10am PT / 1pm ET.

Sony has released a free PS4 theme that reminds us of the original PS1 console. The theme even goes so far as to change the console's start up music to the iconic sound that we all know and love. You can currently download the theme on the PSN store for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

PlayStation Turns 20 Next Month

Next month (December 3 to be exact) Marks the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation one release in Japan. This is definitely a milestone for an iconic gaming brand and with that Sony has released a video on YouTube showing the history of PlayStation. Since the launch of the PlayStation 1 in December 1994, Sony has released many devices on it's release including the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 as well as a number of portable devices PSP, PSP GO and PlayStation Vita. The PlayStation brand has changed games forever with the release of the PlayStation 1 and will be the devices that changed it all.
