Rocket League PS4 And Xbox One Cross-Play Just Needs Sony’s Approval

Rocket League is very close from being the first game ever to allow Xbox One and PS4 players play multiplayer together. The only issue is that Developer Psyonix needs Sonys permission before it can go live.Should cross-play get the approved, Psyonix's Vice President Jeremy Dunham told IGN that it could get the 2 consoles talking to each other in less than a day. "It'd literally take a few hours to propagate [cross-console play] throughout the whole world," says Dunham, "so really, we're just waiting on the permission to do so." Currently, Rocket Leaguers on PS4 and Xbox One can each compete with PC players, but not against each other. Microsoft has already said that they’re ok with this, so its all up to Sony. What do you think ?

Rocket League Is Getting A Loot Crate System

Psyonix has confirmed that Rocket League will have a paid loot crate system, no this isn’t like Counter-Strike GO. Images of a crate and key leaked over the weekend and Psyonix vice president Jeremy Dunham took to Reddit to explain what the system will be. "Those assets are, indeed, early pieces of an upcoming system we plan on implementing to fund our esports prize pools and events," wrote Dunham. "We plan on officially announcing it next month at (or near) the RLCS Live Finals since it directly relates to that event and other events like it, but since this image came out before our official word, we wanted to clarify some things for you." He went on to reassure concerned players that:
  • Crates will only contain cosmetic items, and will have no effect on gameplay.
  • Players who have no interest will be able to hide all mention of the system through a menu checkbox.
  • The system won't affect the game's current play-based item drop system.
  • The game's current DLC policy of free and paid game-changing content will not change.

This Rocket League loot crate system is in line with Psyonixs no pay to win model. As every item is cosmetic and doesn’t effect the performance of you car. What do you think of the Rocket Leagues loot crate system ?
