Rocket League F2P Won’t Require PS Plus Or Nintendo Switch Online
Psyonix has announced via the Rocket League blog that when the free-to-play model is implemented, PlayStation and Switch owners won’t need online subscriptions to access and play the game. However, Xbox owners will still need an Xbox live subscription. In addition to these changes, the blog post also highlighted some changes coming to Rocket League seasons, new high-tier competitive ranks, and some quick chat call-outs. The free-to-play update will be arriving later this month.

Rocket League Going Free To Play This Summer
Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will be free to play later this summer. The game will also feature cross-platform progression and new features plus new content. You can read the full summary of what to expect later this summer in this blog post.
“Once Rocket League goes free to play, anyone who already owns Rocket League on any platform (including Steam) will be able to play and enjoy the game with full support for future updates and features.”
“What does this mean for the Rocket League gameplay you know and love? The core gameplay will remain the same, but we are refining the main menus to make exploring the game easier. Plus, we’re revamping and improving major features like Tournaments and Challenges, and introducing cross-platform progression! Rocket League action on the field will still be the same core, high-octane hybrid of sports and action you love today, and soon, even more players will share that love.”

WWE Themed Items Coming To Rocket League This Spring

Rocket League is getting Premium DLC Featuring DC Characters
Rocket League is getting Premium DC DLC on March 5 ($3.99), introducing two Batmobiles (from '89 and the Dark Knight Rises Tumbler), as well as decals for Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Superman, and more. Along with the new stuff, developer Psyonix advises that the Flash decal and player banner, along with the DC banner were previously available.
Here are the DLC's customization items:
- Aquaman - Decal (Breakout), and Player Banner
- Batman - Decal (Paladin), and Player Banner
- Cyborg - Decal (Roadhog), and Player Banner
- Flash - Speed Force Boost, Wheels, Decal (Venom), and Player Banner

Rocket League On Nintendo Switch Getting Visual And Performance Boost In Spring
The team over at Psyonix have outlined their plans for Rocket League in the Spring. There’s a lot coming to the game and you’ll no doubt want to check out this post for the full details. What is encouraging for Nintendo Switch owners is that this specific version will see both visual and performance updates. Those are outlined below.

- Performance Mode – 900p (Docked) / 720p (Handheld) @ 60 FPS with infrequent dynamic resolution scaling

Rocket League Dev Actively Working On Cross-Platform Party Support For 2018
The developers behind Rocket League, Psyonix, have stated on Twitter that they are actively looking to create cross-platform party support. The feature will be coming at a undisclosed time sometime this year, which is great for Nintendo Switch owners and Rocket League fans in general.

Rocket League Collector’s Edition For Nintendo Switch Coming To Retail In January
Those who have been holding out on buying Rocket League for the Nintendo Switch because you’ve wanted a physical edition will be pleased to hear that the game is coming to to retailers on January 16th in North America. Europe gets the game on January 25th and everyone else on January 26th. Rocket League Collector’s Edition is $10 more on Nintendo Switch than other platforms, which is likely to be due to cartridge costs. Here’s what the collection includes:- Rocket League Full Game

Rocket League For Nintendo Switch Switch Hovers At Around 576p In Handheld Mode
Rocket League is currently available on the Nintendo Switch. The resolution of the game is 720p when docked, though it hovers around 526p when in handheld mode. The game does run at a solid 60fps though, so sacrifices had to be made.
Rocket League runs at 1280×720 in Docked and uses a dynamic resolution scaler in Undocked (handheld) depending on the stadium being played. Generally speaking it hovers around 1024×576. Post launch we plan to continue working on optimizing the game.

Rocket League Comes To Nintendo Switch In November
Rocket League for the Nintendo Switch finally has a release date. The game will be arriving on Nintendo’s latest platform on November 14th. Here’s the official blog entry for the exciting announcement:
What a play! We are proud to announce that Rocket League is coming to Nintendo Switch next month!
Switch owners will be able to download Rocket League through the Nintendo eShop starting on November 14th for $19.99 USD or regional equivalent. We’re supporting all of the system’s various play modes with this release, including wireless local multiplayer, and don’t forget about the Switch-exclusive Battle-Cars: ‘Mario NSR,’ ‘Luigi NSR’ and ‘Samus’ Gunship!’
Rocket League on Switch will have content, features and modes available in other versions of the game, along with support for cross-platform play with PC and Xbox One.

Updated Retail Version Of Rocket League Coming Christmas 2017
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and independent video game developer and publisher, Psyonix, today announced a worldwide retail distribution agreement for the critically acclaimed international hit video game Rocket League. The game is already available digitally on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and PC, and the updated retail version will be available for purchase in stores on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One. Details regarding the content in the updated retail version will be confirmed at a later time.

As we already know, Rocket League is coming to the Nintendo Switch this holiday, and when it does players can get their hands on free, exclusive battle-cars designed after Mario, Luigi, and Samus. The Nintendo Switch version is also getting exclusive customization items such as themed hats and rocket boosts. Rick And Morty Invades Several Games This Summer
The third season of Rick and Morty will soon be upon us. To celebrate, Adult Swim has partnered up with different developers and publishers, to bring the show's characters to several games. You can find Rick and Morty this summer in games like Rocket League, Move or Die, and Gang Beasts. You can get Rick and Morty-styled antennas, vehicles, and other customizations for free in Rocket League starting July 5. In Move or Die, you can play as either Birdperson or Mr. Meeseeks. As for Gang Beasts, Rick and Morty themselves become playable characters.

Rocket League's The Fate Of The Furious DLC Releases Today
Rocket League developer Psyonix continues to add new content to the vehicular soccer game. The newest DLC to come to Rocket League is based on the upcoming film The Fate of the Furious. This DLC introduces The Ice Charger, which is a Dodge Charger from the film. The car will be a in-game premium battle car for $1.99. It comes with exclusive wheels and 6 decals, including Clean Cut, Crazy Sandwich, Flames, Rakugaki, Rally, and CCCXL. The DLC releases on April 4.

Dropshot Game Mode Coming To Rocket League Next Week
Rocket League developer Psyonix is planning a free update to the game on March 22, introducing a new mode, Dropshot. Dropshot removes the standard goals, instead players need to break panels in their opponents' floor and then dropping the electrified ball in to score. The first time the ball hits a panel it activates it, and the second time breaks it. The ball itself also gets stronger via multiple battle-car hits, enabling it to damage up to 19 panels at once. The update will also introduce a speed-themed Turbo crate, the 4th competitive season, new arenas, and much more.

Rocket League Getting PS4 Pro Update Next Week
Rocket League developer Psyonix has announced that its car soccer game will soon support PlayStation 4 Pro. Even if you don't play on a PS4 Pro, you’ll benefit from the update. Besides boosting performance of Rocket League to 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro, the update will also improve the game running on standard PlayStation 4 models to 1080p. The game will also run at 60 frames-per-second in all arenas in splitscreen following this update across all PlayStation 4 models. The update is scheduled to hit on February 21, the same day as the new Hot Wheels DLC for the game.

Psyonix And Hot Wheels Team Up To Create Some Cool DLC For Rocket League
In a team up that honestly should’ve happened a while ago, Psyonix and Hot Wheels have come together to bring 2 new cars to Rocket League. The new cars, Twin Mill III and Bone Crusher, will come to the game on February 21 and cost $2 USD each and include exclusive new wheels and 6 decals. There Have Been 1 Billion Matches Played In Rocket League
Rocket League continues to be a phenomenon as more than 1 billion matches have been played since its release in July 2015, including 31 million matches of the Rumble mode, which launched in September 2016. Those billion matches are split between the game's 25 million players, with half of them being played competitively. 33% were casual games, 11% were alternative modes, and the final 6% were in private matches.
