Xbox Series X/S Expansion Cards Now Come In 512GB And 2TB Options

If you’re looking for high-speed external storage for your Xbox Series X/S, you’ll have two new options coming in the next two months.

Announced on Xbox Wire today, Seagate will be selling two new Expansion Card sizes: 512GB for $139.99 and 2TB for $399.99. These will be joining the 1TB drive released alongside the Xbox Series consoles last fall that currently retails at $219.99.

Those looking to expand your storage for Xbox One or older games can do with a standard USB external drive, but if you want more space for new-gen games, you’ll have to get one of these storage cards. The reasoning is all about how fast games need to process information to provide faster loading speeds and higher-quality graphics and textures. 

Sony Unveils Limited-Edition PS4 Pro Featuring The Last Of US Part II

Sony has announced The Last of Us Part II PlayStation 4 Pro bundle. The bundle includes the console, which has a matte finish and Ellie's tattoo engraved on the top, a specially themed controller, a physical copy of the game and a voucher code that can be redeemed for a Last of Us Part II dynamic theme, avatars, and more. The bundle is priced at $399.99, and the limited-edition

DualShock 4 can be picked up by itself for $64.99. In addition to the console and controller, Sony is releasing a wireless headset with Ellie's tattoo for $99.99. Last but not least, Sony and Seagate have collaborated on a 2TB hard drive, which also has Ellie's tattoo laser etched on it. The Last of US Part II releases on PS4 on June 19. 

Seagate’s Proprietary Xbox Series X Storage Card Is 1TB

Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox Series X will support "expansion cards" that allow for faster storage. Seagate has introduced a Storage Expansion Card for the Series X that will deliver an additional 1TB of game space while maintaining the same performance as the console's built-in SSD. 

The company hasn't provided pricing or a release date, but we'd expect the Storage Expansion Card to be expensive when it ships. PCIe SSDs in this class are expensive as a general rule, and making one that’s easily removable won't keep the price down.

Conventional external drives will be fine for unoptimized Xbox One games as well as your Xbox 360 and original Xbox collections, but you'll be running into technical limits beyond that. Looks like next gen means proprietary. Thoughts ? 

Seagate Announces A 60 TB SSD For Businesses

Seagate has announced a 60 TB solid state drive, the largest SSD yet. Unfortunately, the SSD is only for businesses, released as an addition to Seagate's data center. This massive hard drive could hold up to 12,000 DVD movies or 400 million photos. The 60TB SSD will officially make its debut some time in 2017.

Seagate Offering A Gears Of War 4 External Hard Drive With DLC

Microsoft and Seagate are releasing a Gears of War 4 2 TB drive external hard drive with a design that matchs the upcoming Gears of War Xbox One S and similarly decorated Xbox One Elite Controller. The USB 3.0 drive works with any Xbox One and if you don’t care about the design or the 2 DLC Gear Packs that come with the device, you can find a similar Seagate drive without the Gears logo for about $15 less expensive than the $100 asking price for this model. According to Seagate, the Gears of War 4 drive will ship in October as a GameStop exclusive. 

Seagate Reveals A 10TB Hard Drive

Seagate has announced that it will be releasing a three 10TB drives (for networked, surveillance storage and desktop uses). The new Barracuda Pro features a standard 3.5-inch, 7,200RPM disk and will cost you $535. What do you think ? Is a 10TB worth $535 to you ? 

Seagate To Release Super Slim Hard Drive

If you’re in need of an ultra slim hard disk drive then the Seagate Seven is for you. The Seagate Seven is set to be the world’s thinnest HDD ever, measuring just 7mm thick. The hard drive will be offered in 500GB of storage, excellent speeds and USB 3.0 connectivity. Seagate’s slimline portable hard disk will be available sometime in January for $99.99.
