Grand Theft Auto V Coming To PS5 And Xbox Series X/S, No Free Upgrade

Rockstar has announced the cost for Grand Theft Auto V's new-gen editions, which will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S next week on March 15.

You can pre-load the game and as a result, the pricing for these editions has been announced on digital marketplaces. Along with the cost, the digital shops disclose that there are no free upgrade pathways for existing GTA V customers.


PlayStation 5

  • GTA V will be 75% off for its first three months after launch, meaning it will cost you $9.99. After that, the price will jump back up to $39.99. 
  • GTA Online on PS5 will be free in its first three months. After that, the standalone version of GTA Online, meaning the version that does not include the single-play story campaign, will cost $19.99. 


Xbox Series X/S

  • GTA V will be 50% off for its first three months after launch, meaning it will cost you $19.99. After those three months are up, it will cost $39.99. 
  • Unlike on PlayStation 5, GTA Online on Xbox Series X/S will not be free in the first three months, but it will be on sale for $9.99. After those first three months are up, the standalone version of GTA Online will cost $19.99.

Grand Theft Auto V / GTA Online Coming To PS5 And Xbox Series X/S In November

Rockstar Games has finally confirmed that the PS5/XBSX
version of GTA V arrives this November and will include new features and perks for those who upgrade. We’ll be waiting until November 11 to experience the sandbox game on your next-gen console.Rockstar hasn’t detailed its specific features as of yet, but players who upgrade will be treated to “special benefits” related to the GTA Online’s upcoming 
summer updates

Grand Theft Auto V Has Sold 95 Million Copies


According to Take Two's latest financial report, in the past quarter Grand Theft Auto V has sold 5 million copies. That puts the Rockstar game up to 95 million copies sold. The new number makes it a virtual guarantee that the game will sell 100 million copies before the end of 2018. Take Two is also leveraging the success of GTA Online with the recently released Grand Theft Auto V: Premium Edition, which is the game plus some extra in-game cash.

Tax Season Invades GTA Online By Giving Players Virtual Refunds


Grand Theft Auto V's online mode is celebrating tax season by giving players bonus money and partial refunds on purchased items. Players who log in anytime between now and February 26 will automatically receive $250,000 from the San Andreas Treasury Department. Also, players who make any purchase in that time frame will earn 10% back, though the most you can have returned is $1 million. The rewards and rebates will roll out anytime between February 27 and March 6.

Grand Theft Auto V Rumored To Be Coming To The Nintendo Switch

The rumor mill has been turning for the past few days as the leaker behind L.A Noire and the recent Nintendo Direct date has hinted that the popular Grand Theft Auto V could well be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what was said by NeoGAF member Vern:
“Why isn’t this port GTAV. No one wanted this game lol”.

Vern quoted this post and simply replied: “Patience”.
