Sony Reveals What PS4 Peripherals And Accessories Will Work On PS5

Sony has revealed what PlayStation 4 peripherals and accessories will be compatible on PlayStation 5. The standard DualShock 4 controller will work with PlayStation 5, but only for supported PlayStation 4 games. The DualShock 4 cannot be used for PlayStation 5 games. In a post on PlayStation Blog, Sony's Isabelle Tomatis, who works on PlayStation VR, Peripherals Marketing and Licensing, clarifies this stance, saying "We believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller." This rule also applies to third-party controllers.
Most other accessories are fully compatible with PlayStation 5. This includes the Platinum and Gold Wireless headsets (along with third-party devices that use USB or the audio jack), arcade sticks, flight sticks, and racing wheels. These items will work with with supported PlayStation 4 games and PlayStation 5 games.
The PlayStation Camera is also compatible with PlayStation 5 for PlayStation VR gaming. To use it on the new hardware, players will have to get a PlayStation Camera adaptor that Sony will provide at no additional cost. How do you get the adaptor? More info will be shared at a later date. Tomatis also says that PS Move Motion Controllers will work with supported PS VR games on PlayStation 5.

Sony has announced PlayStation Now game streaming service is coming to PC. The service will be launching first in Europe, with a North American release later on. Also, a Dual Shock 4 USB adapter has been announced. Sony will launch the dongle in September for $25. The dongle can be used for PlayStation Now and PS4 Remote Play on PC and Mac. Here's what your computer needs in order to support PlayStation Now:

300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
Sound card; USB port
An Internet speeds of 5Mbps (Minimum)

Sony has also said that a Mac support for PS Now many come in the future but there’s nothing to announce at this time. What do you think of Sony doing this ? As long as you have a good internet connection I think this one of the greatness things Sony has done (coming from a guy who travels a lot and doesn’t want to bring his consoles back and forth). Now can we work on those PS Now prices ?

UPDATE 8/27/16 - The PlayStation Blog Europe has announced that PlayStation Now is now available in Europe. Just follow the instructions on the blog and you can start playing PlayStation games on your PC. No word on a North American release as of writing this update.

UPDATE 8/30/16 - Sony has announced PS Now is now available in North America. The news comes along with the reveal of 6 new titles, Mafia II, Tomb Raider Game of the Year Edition, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, Heavy Rain (with Taxidermist DLC), and Borderlands: Ultimate Edition. Is A DualShock 4 Wireless Adapter For PC Coming Soon ?

According to DualShockers, a FCC certification for a Sony wireless adapter could point to official support for DualShock 4 controllers on PC. The Wireless Adapter is listed with a "CUH" code, which has been used for all previous PS4 certifications. The image shows a USB device and details a Bluetooth device. It’s seems pretty safe to assume that this is an official Sony dongle to be used in connecting PS4 controllers to PC. This makes sense as Sony has officially supported PC remote play back in April. What do you think ?

You Can Buy The Darth Vader Edition DualShock 4 By Itself

Sony has announced that the Darth Vader Edition DualShock 4 will be available exclusively from Walmart in the US starting on November 13 and a few days later in Europe on November 18. The Darth Vader Edition DualShock 4 will cost you $65 in the US. You can also get the controller in 2 new bundles. The Walmart exclusive Disney Infinity 3.0 system bundle coming on November 13 for $450. Or, the Star Wars Battlefront bundle coming on November 17, which also features a specially designed system for $450.
