The Mythical Pokemon Meltan Can Evolve
The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced the discovery of a new Pokémon, Melmetal. Meltan, a Mythical Pokémon recently discovered in the world of Pokémon GO, evolves into Melmetal, making Meltan the first Mythical Pokémon known to be able to evolve.
Melmetal: Revived after 3,000 Years
Melmetal was worshiped in ancient times as a Pokémon with the power to create metal. Because of its Evolution from Meltan, its body has hardened and is now incredibly sturdy. Melmetal is made of liquid metal, and its flexible arms can be whipped forward to deliver a devastating punch. It can also execute a powerful, unique Steel-type physical move known as Double Iron Bash. By using the hex nut in its chest like an axle to spin its arms around, Melmetal can deal a double strike to its opponent. The weight of the heavy hex nuts on its arms combined with the spinning motion gives the Double Iron Bash move extraordinary power.

Evolving Meltan into Melmetal
The Evolution of the Mythical Pokémon Meltan into Melmetal can only occur in Pokémon GO and requires 400 Meltan Candies. Like Candies that can be collected for other Pokémon, players can obtain Meltan Candies by catching Meltan (after opening a Mystery Box) and sending them to Professor Willow or by walking around with Meltan selected as their Buddy Pokémon. Fans can also obtain Meltan Candies by sending that Pokémon from Pokémon GO to the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! video games. Fans can have fun exploring the Kanto region with Melmetal once they bring it over from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Here’s How To Catch The Mythical Pokemon Meltan
Following the recent discovery of Meltan, The Pokémon Company International, Niantic, Inc., and Nintendo are now able to reveal more information on this new Mythical Pokémon and how it can be captured in Pokémon GO and transferred to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
Since the discovery of the new Pokémon, Professor Oak and Professor Willow have been hard at work conducting research into Meltan, and they have shared their latest findings in a brand-new video: https://youtu.be/1cXPX6OgbNc.
Pokémon GO players will be able to assist Professor Willow’s ongoing investigation into Meltan with the introduction of new Special Research tasks coming to the app this winter.
Players hoping to capture Meltan will be able to view its behaviour in an all-new video: https://youtu.be/c38FKdSJaWA. It looks like Meltan is very curious and loves metal objects.
Generally, sending Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will result in players receiving certain items in the app, such as Candies for the species of Pokémon sent. However, the first time players send a Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, they can receive a very special item—a Mystery Box.
Once the Mystery Box is opened in Pokémon GO, Meltan will begin to appear in the game, and players can attempt to catch it in the same way as any other Pokémon. When Meltan has been caught, it can then be transferred to a GO Park in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Players can also get a Mystery Box for sending Pokémon to a friend’s Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game. After it has been used, the Mystery Box will close and can only reopen again after a set time, at which point the player will need to send a Pokémon to their own or a friend’s Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game.

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee Reporetedly Have Mandatory Motion/Gyro Controls
Eurogamer is reporting that Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee for the Nintendo Switch will feature mandatory motion/gyro controls in docked and handheld mode. When playing in handheld mode you are still required to move your system around to aim, but to throw a Pokeball, you thankfully just have to press a button. Here’s exactly what the publication was told via a statement:
“In handheld mode with both Joy-Con attached – you are still required to move around to aim, but you press a button to throw the Pokéball.
“It is not touch screen like on a smartphone because the Switch is quite a bit heavier than your smart phone.”
The Pokemon Company also told the site that the region of Johto will not be a bonus feature in the game (as it was back in Gold and Silver). If true this is a massive disappointment as this would make the game hard to play in handheld mode. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens when the game releases in November. Thoughts ?
