Get A Free Shiny Pikachu Or Shiny Eevee for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee With Pokemon Pass

From May 11 through June 23, 2019, fans can receive a Shiny Pikachu or Shiny Eevee for their Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! video game at participating Target stores in the US.

To receive one of these Pokémon, players can download the new Pokémon Pass app for select iOS and Android devices. The app delivers exclusive digital rewards to Pokémon Trainer Club account owners when they’re at designated retail locations. When players who have downloaded the app enter a participating Target store, Pokémon Pass will use geolocation to automatically notify them of nearby reward offerings. The app will then guide them through several prompts, including one to scan a special QR Code found in-store, so they can claim their Shiny Pikachu or Shiny Eevee.

In the future, Pokémon Pass will continue to offer more digital rewards at participating retail stores, such as Pokémon distributions for video games, digital stickers and wallpapers, and more.

Nintendo Sales Top $250 Million During Black Friday - Cyber Monday Sales Period

Nintendo Switch set two new records from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday: It became the best-selling Nintendo console in U.S. history for that five-day period, surpassing even Wii system sales. Nintendo Switch also had its best-selling week ever in the United States. In fact, according to Adobe Analytics, Nintendo Switch was among the most-purchased items online on Thanksgiving Day and the overall top-selling video game product online for the Black Friday-Cyber Monday time period.

Strong demand resulted in shoppers buying more than $250 million in Nintendo products from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, according to Nintendo’s internal sales figures, demonstrating that Nintendo has something for everyone this holiday season. That sales total accounts for video game systems like Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, retro systems like Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition and Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition, as well as all Nintendo-produced games and accessories. Total U.S. hardware sales for Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday increased 45 percent over the same period in 2017.

And that doesn’t even take into account that one of the most anticipated video game events of the year is still to come: the Dec. 7 launch of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game. As previously announced, the game has become not only the most pre-sold Nintendo Switch game of all time, but also the most pre-sold Super Smash Bros. game ever in the series.

• Nintendo Switch hardware sales grew 115 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

• Sales of first-party games, including digital downloads, topped 1 million units Nov. 22-26, beating 2017’s totals by 78 percent.
• Nintendo Switch games Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! have hit combined U.S. sales of more than 1.5 million units since their Nov. 16 launch.
• Super Mario Party surpassed lifetime U.S. sales of 1 million units, becoming the fastest-selling game in the Mario Party series and the fifth million-selling first-party Nintendo Switch game in the U.S. alone, joining The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2.

• Thanks in part to strong Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday sales, the total installed base for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems has hit 22 million.
• Additionally, after 12 months of availability, lifetime combined sales of the Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon games crossed 2.2 million.

The Mythical Pokemon Meltan Can Evolve

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced the discovery of a new Pokémon, Melmetal. Meltan, a Mythical Pokémon recently discovered in the world of Pokémon GO, evolves into Melmetal, making Meltan the first Mythical Pokémon known to be able to evolve.

Melmetal was worshiped in ancient times as a Pokémon with the power to create metal. Because of its Evolution from Meltan, its body has hardened and is now incredibly sturdy. Melmetal is made of liquid metal, and its flexible arms can be whipped forward to deliver a devastating punch. It can also execute a powerful, unique Steel-type physical move known as Double Iron Bash. Generally, sending Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will result in players receiving certain items in the app, such as Candies for the species of Pokémon sent. However, the first time players send a Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, they can receive a very special item—a Mystery Box.

Once the Mystery Box is opened in Pokémon GO, Meltan will begin to appear in the game, and players can attempt to catch it in the same way as any other Pokémon. When Meltan has been caught, it can then be transferred to a GO Park in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Players can also get a Mystery Box for sending Pokémon to a friend’s Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game. After it has been used, the Mystery Box will close and can only reopen again after a set time, at which point the player will need to send a Pokémon to their own or a friend’s Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game.

New Mythical Pokemon Discovered In Pokemon GO, Meltan

The Pokémon Company International, Niantic, Inc., and Nintendo announced today that a new Mythical Pokémon has been discovered in the world of Pokémon GO: Meltan!

Meltan is a Steel-type Pokémon with a body made mostly of liquid metal, which makes its shape very fluid. This Pokémon can use its liquid arms and legs to corrode metal and absorb it into its body. Meltan can generate electricity using the metal it absorbs from outside sources. It uses this electricity as an energy source and for an attack it fires from its eye.

In Pokémon GO, sightings of Ditto that have transformed into Meltan have been reported. Professor Oak and Professor Willow have started research on Meltan. Professor Oak, one of the leading authorities in the field of Pokémon research, is based in the Kanto region’s Pallet Town. In Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, he gives a Pokédex to both you and your rival—entrusting you with his dream of completing it. Don’t Just Evolve—Mega Evolve
In Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, players will be able to Mega Evolve a Pokémon once per battle if they have a Key Stone and the Mega Stone corresponding to that specific Pokémon. Mega Evolution, known as “the Evolution that transcends Evolution,” momentarily unleashes the energy within a Pokémon and can only be accomplished when a strong bond exists between the Pokémon and its Trainer. New Information Revealed For Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! And Eevee!

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo provided further details on the highly anticipated Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! andPokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! games, releasing later this year on Nintendo Switch system.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will both feature a variety of exclusive Pokémon which are unique to each game. In Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! Trainers will be able to capture Pokémon including Oddish, Sandshrew and Growlithe; while players of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will be able to capture Pokémon such as Bellsprout, Vulpix and Meowth.

At the start of players’ adventures, they will receive their first partner Pokémon, either Pikachu or Eevee. Unlike regular Pokémon, their first partner Pokémon is not interested in evolving and instead prefers to stay out of its Poké Ball. It will travel with players throughout their journey by hanging on their shoulder or riding on their head. Players can become best friends with their Pikachu or Eevee and can pet, feed and even tickle them. Not only that, but players can dress up their Trainer and partner Pokémon in a wide variety of cool and cute outfits, accessories and even hairstyles to become the perfect style duo with their new best friend.

As players travel throughout the Kanto region, they will meet some familiar faces as well as a few new ones. Professor Oak returns, alongside a new Rival, to present the Pokédex—a high-tech encyclopedia that records data on any new species of Pokémon that players catch in the games. Players will be able to battle Gym leaders across Kanto, including fan favorites Brock, the Gym Leader of Pewter City, and Misty, the Gym Leader of Cerulean City, as they strive to become the Pokémon League champion. In-game Pokémon Trainers aren’t the only ones who can be battled. Players will be able to connect with other players online* or via local wireless communication between Nintendo Switch systems to enjoy intense Pokémon battles. They will also be able to trade Pokémon with each other using these communication features to help complete their Pokédex.

For the first time in a mainline Pokémon game, two people can now play together on one system! By gently shaking a second Joy-Con controller, another player can join the fray. Pokemon Company Reveals More Details About Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee!

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo today revealed new details about the recently announced Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! video games, including details about the Mythical Pokémon Mew, Pokémon GO connectivity, and much more. Developed by GAME FREAK inc., both games are designed for players taking their first steps into the Pokémon video game world, while giving longtime fans a new way to play Pokémon. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will launch in North America on November 16, 2018, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo’s E3 2018 digital presentation included additional details about the Mythical Pokémon Mew, an incredibly rare Pokémon that cannot be encountered in regular gameplay in any of the Pokémon main series games. For Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, Mew will be available in the Poké Ball Plus, and players will be able to transfer it to their version of the new game. Each individually sold Poké Ball Plus will contain Mew, as will all the Poké Ball Plus accessories sold in special packs. Mew caught while playing Pokémon GO cannot be brought into Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

Additional game information was unveiled via the Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation at E3 2018 in Los Angeles, where Game Director Junichi Masuda from GAME FREAK gave a demonstration of the game. Various gameplay elements were shown, including parts of Viridian Forest and Pewter City, and a familiar face to Pokémon fans—Brock!

Other features of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! that were revealed today include:

• GO Park—GO Park is enabled as a player progresses further in the game and will help players befriend Pokémon from Pokémon GO in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! This feature allows for Pokémon from Pokémon GO originally discovered in the Kanto region to be transferred to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! These Pokémon will then need to be caught with a Poké Ball. The player can interact with them in a whole new way in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
• Candy Jar—Players can use a variety of Candies to strengthen their Pokémon in a training system introduced in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Later in the game, players will be able to send their Pokémon to Professor Oak to receive these Candies.
• Link Trading and Battles—Players will be able to trade and engage in Single and Double Battles with other players online and via local wireless communication. Trading and battling online will require an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, a paid service launching this September.

New Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee Features Revealed

New info on Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee! has come to light thanks to Eurogamer. Here’s a handy list they have compiled:

• You catch Pokémon like you do in Pokémon Go – Motion controls are required for catching Pokémon, either in the form of the gyroscope in handheld mode, the Joy-Con when docked, or via the Poké Ball Plus. You see Pokémon physically appear in the wild, tap on them to interact, and then enter a throwing screen much the same as the one in Go, with mechanics appearing largely the same too.
• No random encounters – Though you’ll still be searching through long grass for Pokémon, they won’t instantly spring upon you, instead appearing physically on the map screen. From there, you can either interact and catch, or leave them be.
• Pikachu and Eevee are set starters – You don’t get to choose from three Pokémon this time: in Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, those two Pokémon are your respective starters, although they can at least be put into your box if you end up not being a fan, although there are some big changes to how boxes work (more on that below). Pikachu rides outside of its ball on your shoulder, and Eevee on your head.
• Other Pokémon can follow you outside their balls, and you can ride some too – You can’t ride every Pokémon, but big ones (we’re not sure how big they’ll be but Onix and Lapras are some examples) can be ridden, whilst others can all follow you, like the hilarious Electrode in the reveal trailer.
• Boxes are now “in your bag” – it sounds like you can switch out Pokémon on the fly, whilst still having an active party of six. We were given the following quote from the Pokémon Company: “You can put your partner Pokémon in a box, but the way the box system works is different in these games in that you actually have a box in your bag. Your partner Pokémon does take up one of the six slots in your team.”
• HMs are still gone – Riding Pokémon seems to be the main way you get past obstacles like water, as it was in Sun and Moon, although it’s not clear how similar the systems will be, but you won’t need HMs to ride Pokémon either.
• Trainer battles are still the same – Battles themselves are still turn-based, with Pokémon having four moves, and so on.
• You can import Gen 1 creatures from Pokémon Go to Let’s Go – Any Pokémon of the first 151 that you’ve caught in Pokémon Go can be transferred to Pokémon Let’s Go, via Bluetooth. How frequently and on what scale you’ll be able to do this is still up in the air, but Shinies will carry over, too!
• There’s local co-op – A friend can jump in at any point by using a second controller to help you, be that in a battle where they act as a ‘support’ trainer, or when catching a Pokémon. You can battle locally against people too.
• You can have multiple saves, but only one per Switch account – So, with one copy of the game both you and a sibling, say, could both play it on that console with your own saves.
• There are version exclusive Pokémon – This is now the main reason to think about getting both versions of the game, or making sure you and a friend have both versions covered.
• There’s no breeding in the game – Big implications for competitive players here, although it’s unclear if there will be any similar system available or not. It seems unlikely.
• You can’t get to Johto – Being set in Kanto (which famously was accessible from Johto in the Gold, Silver and Crystal games), some players were wondering if this was possible. Masuda said “I can confirm that you won’t be going to Johto”. So it seems that it’s not.
• Impact on canon – Another question is its position in the timeline and effect on the ‘canon’ of the mainline games is still unknown. Eurogamer was present at the announcement conference and, when asked about this, developer Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda was… evasive, to say the least, refusing to talk about whether characters or references from the other core RPGs would appear in the Let’s Go pair at all.
• IVs and EVs might work differently – Masuda described this as something “everyone definitely cares and wonders about. I cannot speak to details but we always focus on making the games accessible and easy to play for anyone but also have this depth which is there for the players – this will be the same for these games.”

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu And Eevee Reporetedly Have Mandatory Motion/Gyro Controls

Eurogamer is reporting that Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee for the Nintendo Switch will feature mandatory motion/gyro controls in docked and handheld mode. When playing in handheld mode you are still required to move your system around to aim, but to throw a Pokeball, you thankfully just have to press a button. Here’s exactly what the publication was told via a statement:

“In handheld mode with both Joy-Con attached – you are still required to move around to aim, but you press a button to throw the Pokéball.

“It is not touch screen like on a smartphone because the Switch is quite a bit heavier than your smart phone.”

The Pokemon Company also told the site that the region of Johto will not be a bonus feature in the game (as it was back in Gold and Silver). If true this is a massive disappointment as this would make the game hard to play in handheld mode. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens when the game releases in November. Thoughts ?
