Samsung Unpacked Event Happening In August

Samsung is preparing to introduce its next slate of devices soon. The companies  upcoming Unpacked event is planned for August 10th at 9 AM ET. The keynote will be webcast live on Samsung's website, with no in-person component. 

The next generation of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip foldable phones, as well as a pair of new smartwatches and wireless earbuds, are largely expected to be unveiled. We don't know much about the upcoming products yet, but rumors indicate that Samsung may sell the foldable smartphones at a lesser price than previously.

Samsung Galaxy S22 And More Announced At Unpacked Event

The first Unpacked event of 2022 was hosted at Samsung. The company talked about upgrades to its Galaxy S and Tab S product lines for roughly an hour during the event. 

The Galaxy Note is returning in everything but name after skipping a year. The S22 Ultra is the follow-up to the Note 20 that was never released in 2021. The S22 Ultra includes all of the features that make the Note unique. It not only comes with Samsung's S Pen, but it also has a place for it integrated right into the phone. It's also the company's most powerful phone yet. It has a 108-megapixel primary camera, Samsung and Qualcomm's newest 4-nanometer processors, and up to 12GB of RAM. The phone is already available for pre-order, with prices beginning at $1,200. On Wednesday, February 25th, Samsung will begin shipping the S22 Ultra and everything else it announced.

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ may not appear to be all that different from the phones they'll be replacing, but Samsung has added a few noticeable changes in both smartphones. To start, they have a new 50-megapixel primary camera with a sensor that is 23% bigger than the 12-megapixel sensor featured in the S21 and S21+. With Corning's latest Gorilla Glass Victus+, Samsung has made the phones more durable. At the same time, the company is seeking to decrease its environmental effect by using recycled fishing nets for some of the phone's components. When the S22 and S22+ go on sale later this month, they will cost $800 and $999, respectively.

Samsung also unveiled a new line of high-end tablets to go along with the new phones. Samsung's new Tab S8 and Tab S8+ slate smartphones have the quickest processors the company has ever offered in a slate device. Samsung is also producing an Ultra version of one of its tablets for the first time. The Tab S8 Ultra has a 14.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848 pixels and a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. Oh, and the two front-facing cameras are housed in a notch. They are priced at $700, 900, and 1,100, respectively.

Samsung Rumored To Hold Its Galaxy Unpacked Event On February 8th

According to South Korea's Digital Daily, Samsung may reveal the much-anticipated Galaxy S22 during an Unpacked event on February 8th. "We have verified that the event will take place on February 8th, and we are now negotiating the time of invites to be given out at the end of January," a Samsung Electronics representative told the site. Pre-orders are expected to begin the next day, on February 9th, with shipment beginning the following day, on February 24th.

The Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra are believed to be the first three phones from Samsung. All three smartphones will, according to some of the numerous speculations floating about, feature extremely vivid screens. Meanwhile, the camera on the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a "Super Clear Lens," according to Samsung.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, apparently produced by Samsung, might be the main component. Outside of the United States, Samsung's Exynos 2200 processor, which uses AMD's RDNA 2 architecture and potentially allow ray tracing, may be used.

Samsung Hosting An Unpacked Event On April 28th

Samsung has sent out invites to another Galaxy Unpacked this month, making it the fourth Samsung event this year. This event will be streamed live on Samsung.com on April 28th at 10AM ET, and the invite teases that "the most powerful Galaxy is coming."

Samsung’s New Galaxy A Line Up Offers Its Cheapest 5G Phone To Date

 For anyone who doesn’t want to drop a decent amount of cash for a flagship phone, Samsung just revealed a line of new affordable models for the US, including the company’s cheapest 5G smartphone to date.

First up is the $499 Galaxy A52 5G. The A52 packs a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 4,500mAh battery, a quartet of rear cameras headlined by a 64-megapixel sensor, and one of Qualcomm’s relatively fresh Snapdragon 750G chipsets. As we mentioned last time, the A52 5G is in some ways a more impressive device than the LTE-only Galaxy A72 Samsung announced at the same time, which explains why Samsung didn’t bother bringing that pricier model to the US this year. 

The next step down from there is the Galaxy A42 5G, which pairs the same 750G chipset as its sibling with a more restrained set of specs, 4GB of RAM instead of 6GB, a 13-megapixel front camera instead of the A52’s 32-megapixel one, and one fewer camera around back. The A42 has a 48-megapixel main rear shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, flanked by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 2-megapixel sensor for capturing depth data. The A42 has a couple things going for it that the A52 doesn’t, it’s the only model Samsung announced that supports mmWave 5G, and it has a slightly larger 5,000mAh battery. 

And then there’s the A32 5G, which — at $280 — is the company’s first crack at making a truly inexpensive 5G device. Samsung managed to drive costs down by using one of MediaTek’s Dimensity 720 chipsets with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, along with a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen instead of a more visually appealing AMOLED panel (90Hz). Apart from that, the A32 uses the same battery and the same front and rear camera setups as the A42 does, just with one change: the A32 also packs a 5-megapixel macro camera.

Rounding out Samsung’s lineup are the A12 and A02s, which share the same 6.5-inch Infinity-V display. That’s about where the similarities end, though. The $180 A12 runs with a MediaTek P35 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, along with an 8-megapixel front camera and a rear quad camera system headlined by a 16-megapixel main sensor. Meanwhile, the $110 A02s is considerably bigger than last year’s model thanks to its whopper of a screen, but you’d do well to keep your expectations for the 13-megapixel main and 2-megapixel macros in check. Similar caution is probably warranted for the A02s’s performance too since it uses a three-year-old Snapdragon 450 chipset, but you could do much worse for price. 

The A42 5G will make its US debut first on April 8th, followed by the A52 5G, A32 5G and A12 on April 9th, and the A02s on April 29th. All phones will get three years of Android updates as well.

Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Samsung’s Unpacked Event

Samsung’s first Unpacked event of 2021 is mainly about the Galaxy S21, but that’s not all the company had to share. In addition to three new phones, Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy SmartTag.

First up is the Galaxy S21 and S21+, with a refreshed design and the latest silicon from chipmaker Qualcomm. The phones will start at $800 and $1,000 when they go on sale on January 29th. They feature the same camera components as the S20 and S20+ and you’ll have to contend with a less pixel-dense display than last year.

As for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the $1,200 smart phone has updated dual telephoto lens system that Samsung claims will improve “clarity with every shot.” Like the other phones in the S21 line, the S21 Ultra goes on sale on January 29th.

Next up, Galaxy Buds Pro. The company’s new $200
headphones combine elements of both the Galaxy Buds+ and aforementioned Galaxy Buds Live, leading to a design Samsung claims is less intrusive and more comfortable to wear. They also come with enhancements like active-noise cancellation, support for 360 Audio and an improved IPX7 rating against sweat and water. They’re available now.  

Last but not least is the Galaxy SmartTag. The Galaxy SmartTag is a Tile-like accessory you can attach to your belonging and use to try and find them if they ever get lost. While you’ll soon be able to buy one for $30, you can also get a free SmartTag if you pre-order any of Samsung’s new phones directly from the company.  Later this year, Samsung will release a Tag+ model that will take advantage of the ultra-wideband (UWB) feature in many of its new phones to offer enhanced tracking.

Samsung Holding Its Unpacked Event Virtually On August 5th

Samsung has announced it will be holding Unpacked 2020 on August 5th at 10am ET virtually. You can expect the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra to be revealed at the event.

Much like the S20 Ultra, the Ultra version Note may come with an advanced camera system with a Space Zoom feature. We’re also expecting to see Samsung continue to improve its S Pen, which is the hallmark of the Note line. There’s a lot we don’t know about the upcoming flagships, as well as what other devices that might be announced.

Samsung Announces The Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra And Galaxy Buds+

Samsung has announced the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is Samsung’s new flagship device, featuring a 6.9-inch screen with a QHD+ resolution (511ppi) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The S20 Ultra display can be set to always refresh at 120Hz. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra features a 108MP main camera. However, you’re really capturing 12MP photos with this high-resolution sensor because it uses pixel binning to merge 9 pixels into one. This way, the imaging sensor absorbs more light in order to render photos with a wider dynamic range. That extremely high-resolution sensor also allows the Galaxy S20 Ultra to shoot 8K videos at 24 fps, which users can then stream directly to a Samsung QLED 8K TV.

The telephoto camera has also seen a big upgrade as it’s now using a 48MP image sensor with a “folded lens.” The results of this new zoom technology are a 10x “lossless zoom” and 100x space zoom. The Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 processor plus 128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM in the base configuration. Additionally, this smartphone will come with 5G radios as a standard feature and a 5,000mAh battery. All of this flagship experience comes at a high premium though as the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra starts at $1,399. Preorders begin on February 21 and the phone will be available starting on March 6th.

The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ have seen very similar spec upgrades as the S20 Ultra. For starters, the Galaxy S20's 6.2-inch screen and the Galaxy S20+'s 6.7-inch screen utilize Samsung's new 120Hz displays complete with the 240Hz touchscreen polling rate. These phones are also able to shoot 8K video and will be able to connect to 5G networks like the Galaxy S20 Ultra. You’ll only get a 12MP wide-angle camera on the two regular Galaxy S20 phones, but at least the telephoto camera is nice and sharp with a 64MP sensor.

The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ both feature the same Snapdragon 865 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, plus 5G connectivity standard. Of course, being smaller handsets, the Galaxy S20 only has a 4,000mAh battery while the S20+ features a 4,500mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ will be available for a starting price of $999 and $1,199, respectively. Preorders begin on February 21st and releases on March 6th.

Last but not least, Samsung also announced the Galaxy Buds+. The headphones have seen is a dramatic boost in battery life that now nets you 11 hours of playtime on both the earbuds themselves and the case. Compared to last year’s Galaxy Buds, which only had six hours of battery life on the buds with an additional seven hours in the case, you’re looking at about double the amount of playtime.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ also feature 2-way dynamic speakers and 3 microphones for improved sound and voice quality. Additionally, the Galaxy Buds+ are now iOS compatible so you can connect them to an iPhone 11 Pro, iPad, or any mobile Apple device. The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ are available now for $149.

Samsung Introduces The Flip Phone Of The Future, Galaxy Z Flip

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Z Flip, its next foldable phone. The exterior of the phone only has a tiny 1.1-inch Super AMOLED display for showing you notifications for calls, messages. However, when you open it up it transforms into a full-sized smartphone with a 6.7-inch screen.The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (2,636 x 1,080) Dynamic AMOLED main display while the cover display only measures 1.1-inches and has a resolution of 300 x 112.

The whole device runs off a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Octa-Core Processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For cameras you have a 12MP wide-angle and ultrawide rear cameras paired with a 10MP selfie camera. Lastly it has a 3,300 mAh dual battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is available now and it will retail for $1,380.

Samsung To Unveil The Galaxy Note 10 On August 7th

Samsung has announced that it's holding its second Unpacked event of the year on August 7th at 4PM ET in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The company hasn't said anything about what to expect, though the Galaxy Note 10 will clearly be the star of the show.

Current rumors and leaks suggest the Note 10 will retain the harder-edged design of the Note line, but inherit Galaxy S10 features like a hole-punch camera, in-screen fingerprint readers and a wider selection of models. There may be two Note variants this year, a 6.3-inch base Note 10 and a nearly 6.8-inch Note 10+ (the plus could offer 5G). You could expect upgrades to the pen experience, the camera and likely other more.

Samsung Delays The Release Of The Galaxy Fold

Samsung has confirmed to The Verge that the Galaxy Fold has been delayed.  

The company said they are evaluating the issues by running further tests and making necessary changes to ensure the quality of the device is in line with their standards. A new release date will be announced in the coming weeks.

"We recently unveiled a completely new mobile category: a smartphone using multiple new technologies and materials to create a display that is flexible enough to fold. We are encouraged by the excitement around the Galaxy Fold. 

While many reviewers shared with us the vast potential they see, some also showed us how the device needs further improvements that could ensure the best possible user experience."

To fully evaluate this feedback and run further internal tests, we have decided to delay the release of the Galaxy Fold. We plan to announce the release date in the coming weeks. 

Initial findings from the inspection of reported issues on the display showed that they could be associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge. There was also an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance.

We will take measures to strengthen the display protection. We will also enhance the guidance on care and use of the display including the protective layer so that our customers get the most out of their Galaxy Fold.

We value the trust our customers place in us and they are always our top priority. Samsung is committed to working closely with customers and partners to move the industry forward. We want to thank them for their patience and understanding."

Samsung Announces The Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e And S10 5G

During Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event, the company announced the Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e and S10 5G. The S10 is the standard model while the S10+ increases its display, camera and performance specifications. The 10e is a more compact version with “premium essentials.” Last but not least, the S10 5G includes the fastest download speeds of the bunch, and will be available later in the year.

The Galaxy S10 includes an infinity O-display with its AMOLED screen, which supports HDR 10+ and dynamic tone mapping for small details. It also has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the screen. The back of the S10 can also act as a charging station for other Samsung devices.

The Galaxy S10+ includes an ultra-wide, 3 camera array that features a 123-degree field of view. It also offers “super steady” high-quality video recording with digital stabilization technology. The S10 line also includes Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, IP68 water and dust resistance, a next-generation processor, and the S10+ comes with 1TB of built-in storage. The line will be available in Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Blue and Flamingo Pink colors. The S10+ will also be available in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White. The S10, S10+ and S10e will hit stores starting March 8, 2019. Pricing starts at $900 for Galaxy S10, $1,000 for Galaxy S10+ and $750 for Galaxy S10e for both carrier and unlocked versions. Preorders for these models start on February 21. 

Samsung Announces The Galaxy Fold

During Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event, the company announced the Galaxy Fold, a folding smartphone-tablet hybrid.

The Galaxy Fold features a 4.6” display when folded, and a 7.3” display in its tablet form. It uses an infinity-flex display that includes a sophisticated hinge system that creates a “seamless, elegant look."

The phone comes in Cosmos Black, Space Silver, Martian Green and Astro Blue, and customers can personalize the hinge color. When closed, it can make calls and fits in the palm of your hand. When opened, it can view videos, and much more. It also includes three app multitasking, a 7nm processor, 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB storage. To power all of this, it includes two batteries - one on each side. It also houses 6 cameras, 3 on the back, 2 on the inside and 1 in the front.

The Galaxy Fold is starting at $1,980 and will be available on April 26.

Leaks Suggest Galaxy S10 Line Up Will Have Three Variants

Known phone leaker Evan Blass has posted an image that appears to be the Samsung's Galaxy S10, and now he's tweeted an image showing off three variants in cases. Theses are apparently the S10E, S10 and S10+ from Left to right. The S10 is said to measure at about 5.8-inches with the Plus stepping up to 6.4-inches. 

The S10 will be Samsungs standard bearer that we're expecting to hear about at an event just ahead of Mobile World Congress 2019 on February 20th. 

Samsung Unveils Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Watch And Galaxy Home

During Samsungs unpacked event, the company unveiled a range of new deceives, including there newest flag ship phone, a new smartwatch and smart speaker.

The Galaxy Note 9 is a acquired with a 6.4-inch SuperAMOLED display with a resolution of 2960 × 1440. This is the largest smartphone screen for Samsung yet. The smartphone also includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage for the base model, with a new variant that offers a massive 512GB of internal storage.

Another change is the ridiculously big 4,000 mAh battery, which is a 20% increase over the Note 8 and is considerably larger than the iPhone X’s 2,716 mAh capacity. The Galaxy Note 9 will go up for sale staring on August 24th, priced at $999 for the 128GB model, with Samsung asking $1,249 for the 512GB version. Pre-orders are available now.

Samsung also revealed its latest wearable, the Galaxy Watch. Not much is know about the watch, it does however have one of the major upgrades to be battery life to last “several days” on a single charge thanks to an optimized processor. It will also support LTE to work standalone. Galaxy Watch will be available starting August 24th and come in 46mm and 42mm sizes priced at $350 and $330, respectively for the non-LTE versions. Samsung said the LTE versions will be available later in 2018.

Lasts but most certainly not least Samsung showed off its upcoming smart speaker. The Galaxy Home features a high range and a subwoofer that delivers rich base with Harman Kardon and AKG. Eight microphones allow for far-field voice recognition with the ability detect a user’s location and direct audio towards them with a “Hi Bixby, SteerSound” command. It can also be used to adapt to the specific contours of a room.

Fortnite Is Finally On Android With A Beta

Fortnite is finally available in beta form on Android devices starting with Samsung Galaxy users. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4 owners can play and get the Galaxy outfit.  The select devices currently supported are: Samsung Galaxy: S7 / S7 Edge , S8 / S8+, S9 / S9+, Note 8, Note 9, Tab S3, Tab S4

Samsung Accidentally Leaked The Galaxy Note 9

Samsung has accidentally posted a video for its next flagship phone, the Galaxy Note 9. The brief teaser shows the overall design, which Samsung had already leaked through a pre-order announcement, and the yellowish S-Pen that ships with the blue model. It also confirms that a 512GB version will be available, with support for up to 512GB microSD cards. Samsung will officially launch the Note 9 on August 9th, at an Unpacked event in New York.

Samsung Will Release The Galaxy S9 In February

DJ Koh, Samsung’s mobile chief, has announced at a press conference in Las Vegas that the company will launch the Galaxy S9 and S9+ at the Mobile World Congress. Samsung will also reveal when the phone will be available for purchase at the annual trade show, which will take place at the end of February in Barcelona, Spain. At least we won't have to wait until the customary spring event Samsung typically holds to launch its flagship devices like it did with the Galaxy S8.

Samsung To Reveal The Galaxy Note 8 On August 23

Samsung’s next phone is on its way, as invites for the company's Unpacked event for August 23rd are going out. A teaser image promises to "Do bigger things. Rumors indicate that the Galaxy Note 8 we're expecting to see will feature a larger 6.3-inch version of the Galaxy S8's Infinity Display, dual rear cameras and 6GB of RAM. The most notable change, however may be the maller battery. Samsung might go with a slightly smaller 3,300mAh unit compared to the 3,500mAh battery pack that shipped in the Note 7 should help avoid problems with overheating and explosions, as seen in the Note 7. With all that being said, can Samsung recover from all the note 7 issues from last year ? Will the Note 8 sell well ?

Samsung Reveals The Galaxy S8 And S8+

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones. As expected, the S8 comes in 2 sizes with a curved edge-to-edge 5.8-inch or 6.2-inch QHD AMOLED display. The always-on screen has a 2960x1440 resolution within a minimal bezel design that pushes the home button with fingerprint recognition to the rear of the device, alongside the camera. The rear camera features a 12 megapixel f/1.7 lens, while an 8 megapixel f/1.7 camera with autofocus sits above the screen on the front. Samsung has also integrated iris scanning and facial recognition into the front camera to make unlocking the phone and signing into websites easier. 

On the right side of the handset is the power button, while the left side houses volume controls and a separate button to activate Bixby, Samsung's new virtual assistant. Harman Kardon stereo speakers are visible on the bottom of the device, along with a USB-C port and a headphone jack. Inside, the S8 features a Snapdragon 835 processor, a 10 nanometer chip made in partnership by Qualcomm and Samsung. Paired with the chip is 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage with microSD support for up to 256GB. The standard model has a 3,000mAh battery, while the Plus device gets 3,500mAh. Both models support fast wireless charging. 

As for software, the S8 runs Android 7.0 and has a Bluetooth dual audio feature that lets users stream audio to two separate headsets or speakers at the same time. There's also a multi-window feature that enables two apps to run on the screen simultaneously. Another feature Samsung is debuting with the S8 is Samsung DeX, which allows users to connect the phone to an external display, keyboard, and mouse, to use the operating system like a computer. 

The 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 price starts at $750, while the 6.2-inch 8+ starts at $850. Both devices are waterproof to IP68 standard and come in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, and Arctic Silver. Pre-orders begin on March 30. Both handsets will go on sale online and in stores in the U.S., Canada, and Europe on April 21.
