Battlefield 1 Turning Tides Coming In December

Battlefield 1 is getting its Turning Tides DLC in waves in December and January, with this year's batch now dated for December 11 for owners of the game's premium pass and 2 weeks later for everyone else.

The December drop features the Cape Helles and Achi Baba maps, a new Gallipoli operation, Infiltrator Elite class, the L-Class Destroyer, and more. The second part of the DLC in January also features two maps, the conquest assault mode, and its own goodies.

Apart from the December release date news today, the game is also offering:

• Free Trial for expansions They Shall Not Pass and In The Name Of The Tsar on November 22-December 4 and December 8-December 10.
• Frontlines Modes for the Suez map on November 27. DICE describes the mode as "a mix of Conquest and Rush" with a tug-of-war over chained control points.
• The Fall of Empires operation campaign on November 22-December 6. This is a combination of the Conquer Hell and Iron Walls operations.

Battlefield 1 Expansion In The Name Of the Tsar Coming In September

During EA’s E3 press conference today, the company announced that Battlefield 1 will soon receive a new expansion that focuses on the Russian front of the first World War. In The Name of the Tsar will be available this September and adds 6 new maps to the game, including the Prise De Tahure and Lupkow Pass, new weapons, and new playable combatants, including the Women's Battallion of Death. In the Name of the Tsar also expands the game's progression and introduces "new multi-battle experiences" in the Operations mode. You can watch a trailer for the expansion below.

Battlefield 1 Winter Update Adds Higher Class Rank Caps And More

Battlefield 1's first major expansion, They Shall Not Pass, doesn't release until March, but DICE has released info on the latest title update to the popular shooter.The Winter Update adds a number of refinements and adjustments to various aspects to Battlefield 1. Previously, the game's classes had a level cap of 10, this update brings that number up to 50. Another new addition to the game is ribbons, which aim to encourage more team-based play by rewarding support actions with XP bonuses. You can check out the full patch notes, here.

Battlefield 1 December Update Details

DICE has revealed there plans for Battlefield 1’s December update. First, the Giant's Shadow map is based on the battle of the Selle in 1918. "With a massive crashed airship casting its shadow onto the battlefield, you can expect fierce combat on the open ground and river banks alongside the Cateau-Wassigny railway," DICE says on the Battlefield blog. Spectator mode is also returning, along with the custom game type, Standard Issue Rifles. The free map is available to play on December 13 for premium members, and December 20 for everyone else.

Microsoft Reveals 8 Xbox One S Holiday Bundles

Microsoft has revealed 8 Xbox One S Holiday Bundles, including 3 different Gears of War 4 options, 3 Battlefield 1 options, a FIFA 17 option and a Minecraft option. The Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Limited Edition Bundle for $449 features a a gritty, battle-weathered custom console and matching controller with a 2TB hard drive, copy of Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition, and loads of extras. The Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Special Edition Bundle $349 USD for features a 1TB military green console with matching stand and controller, as well as a copy of Battlefield 1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition, the Hell fighter Pack, Red Baron Pack, Lawrence of Arabia Pack, a new visual appearance of the Behemoths, 5 Battlepacks and 1 month of EA Access. Battlefield 1's Campaign Trailer To Debut Tomorrow (Trailer Added)

EA will premiere the campaign trailer for Battlefield 1 at an unspecified time on September 27 on the Battlefield 1 YouTube page, showing a glimpse of what we can expect in the game. Battlefield 1 is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 21.

EA/Origin Access Subscribers Will Be Able To Play Battlefield 1 On October 13

EA/Origin Access members will be able to take a crack at Battlefield 1 before it releases. Subscribers will be able to play the game on October 13, which includes 5 maps, 4 modes, and 3 of the single-player missions. Those modes will be Rush, Operations, Domination, and Conquest mode on the maps St. Quentin Scar, Amiens, Sinai Desert, Fao Fortress and Suez maps. Operations mode will feature the maps Amiens, Fao Fortress, and Suez. The single-player missions are called Storm of Steel and Through Mud and Blood. Subscribers will only get 10 hours with this content, but all progression carries over when the full game launches on October 21. Participating in the EA Access will get you a Trench Raider dog tag, and if you max out your 10 hours a Battlepack will be waiting for you on launch day.

Some Changes Are Coming To Battlefield 1 Thanks To The Beta

Dice is looking closely at the Battlefield 1 beta, and has outlined some of the changes it has planned for the final release. The biggest changes are coming to Conquest mode. Daniel Berlin, lead world designer on Battlefield 1, wrote on Battlefield's blog, "The next time you play the game, capturing the objectives AND getting kills will both contribute towards the final score of a Conquest match." Other changes are coming to Rush mode, weapon and vehicle balancing and more tools to deal with vehicles earlier in matches. You can expect this changes to take place when the game comes out. Battlefield 1 releases October 21 on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Origin.

Battlefield 1 Open Beta Was EA's Biggest Beta

EA's latest post breaks down some statistics about the Battlefield 1 beta. There were 13.2 million players over the course of the beta, making it the largest beta EA has ever conducted. DICE and EA are also sharing various stats about how different people played, including numbers of kills on horseback, number of melee kills, and the most popular classes. Battlefield 1 launches on October 21 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. 

Battlefield 1 Gets An Xbox One S Bundle

Microsoft has announced an Xbox One S bundle for Battlefield 1 players. The Battlefield 1 bundles include either a 500 GB or 1 TB Xbox One S, a download voucher for the game and more. The 500 GB version includes the console, a download voucher for the standard version of the game and 1 month of EA Access for $299. The 1 TB version includes the console, a voucher for the deluxe edition of Battlefield 1, 5 Battlepacks, the Hellfighter pack, the Red Baron pack, the Lawrence of Arabia pack, a cosmetic change for the Behemoths, and 1 month of EA Access for $349. The controller and console also come in a special military green color.

Battlefield 1 Beta Coming To An End Soon

EA has announced on Twitter, that the Battlefield 1 Open Beta will end on September 8. The company also announced a patch for the beta. The patch disables time limits in the beta's Sinai Desert Conquest mode, meaning games will now run indefinitely until one team reaches the 250 points limit. Battlefield 1 releases on October 21 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. 

Battlefield 1 Open Beta Is Now Available

The Battlefield 1 open beta is now available to download free on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The beta features the Sinai Desert map, Conquest mode, and the first taste of Battlefield 1's take on Rush mode. PS4 player won't need a PS Plus subscription to play, however Xbox One players will need a Gold subscription. They’s no word on when the beta will end. Battlefield 1 launches on October 21 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Here’s What Comes In Battlefield 1’s Premium Pass

What shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, Battlefield 1 is getting a year’s worth of DLC in a Premium Pass. A new listing details what’s included in the $50 DLC bundle. The first expansion, They Shall Not Pass, focuses on the French army. The add-on will release in March 2017, with a 2 week head-start for Premium members. There will be 4 expansions in total and each will likely cost $15 if purchased individually (other Battlefield games used as a reference). The Premium pass includes 16 maps, 20 weapons, 14 dog tags, and 14 battle-packs that will be delivered monthly starting in November 2016.
