Spider-Man is finally coming to Marvel’s Avengers at the end of the month. He’ll only be available in the PlayStation versions of the game, as he’s an exclusive character. But even non-PlayStation owners will be treated to a substantial update that adds a new Raid, power cap increase, and more.
November 30 is when patch 2.2 is released. Spider-Man arrives in the Great Power Hero Event. The story centers on Peter Parker uncovering a mysterious threat and joining up with the Avengers to prevent AIM from procuring powerful technology. Although Spidey struggles with working as part of a team, he manages to form bonds with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow. The crux of the campaign hinges on whether or not Peter decides to become a full-time Avenger or stick to crime-fighting solo.
In addition to adding Spider-Man, all versions of the game are getting a new four-player Raid pitting players against Klaw, following the events of the War for Wakada expansion. The update also bumps the Power Level cap from 150 to 175. Players can now upgrade existing gear by recycling equipment of a higher power level.
Marvel's Avengers is now available on Xbox Game Pass for PC, console, and cloud. In addition to the base game, every piece of DLC is included. Its Operations story missions that introduced Kate Bishop and Hawkeye, and the recently released War for Wakanda expansion, which added Black Panther and an entirely new map. Those playing on Xbox Series X/S will enjoy optimization features in the form of faster load times and higher frame rates. A Quad XP event begins September 30 that rewards players with quadruple the experience points while playing until October 4.
Crystal Dynamics showed off what’s next in the Marvel's Avengers roadmap, the introduction of Black Panther to the game. We already knew Black Panther was coming to the game, but today gave us a new look at the story and content his War for Wakanda expansion will bring. As the name suggests, this expansion adds Wakanda as an area for players to explore, and with it a new cast of characters, including a playable Black Panther. Black Panther and the War for Wakanda expansion comes to Marvel's Avengers as a free update in August.

Meanwhile, there's still no confirmed release date for Spider-Man for the PlayStation versions of the game. The original plan was to add him in early 2021. Given that both Kate Bishop and Hawkeye's debuts were delayed by several months, I wouldn’t expect the web-head anytime soon.

Marvel's Avengers is coming to consoles and PC soon, and you’ll soon be able to take the game for a spin. The studio has revealed some details about its upcoming beta, which will be made available over several weekends in August. As revealed by IGN, players who preorder the game on PlayStation will have the first access to the beta starting August 7. Xbox and PC preorder beta access comes a week after that, on August 14. Finally, on August 21, the open beta will be made available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Square Enix has announced that Marvel's Avengers is officially coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when the consoles launch this holiday. Those who purchase the game for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, either physically or digitally,(physically version upgrades to physically and Digital to Digital) will be able to upgrade to the respective next-gen version free of charge.
Avengers will support cross-generation play between PlayStation and Xbox consoles (PS5 owners can play with PS4, Xbox Series X with Xbox One). Players will also be able to transfer saves between current- and next-gen consoles.
The PlayStation 5 version will offer both an enhanced graphics mode and a high framerate mode at 60 FPS with dynamic 4K resolution. Gary Snethen, CTO at developer Crystal Dynamics, noted PS5's ultra-fast SSD will make for "nearly instant" load times in Avengers. "And as Iron Man flies through content-rich levels, higher resolution textures and mesh will stream in instantly, maintaining the highest possible quality all the way to the horizon," he added. Marvel's Avengers will first be released September 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC.
Crystal Dynamics has finally revealed several editions for their Avengers game. While both the PS4 and Xbox One versions have different editions to choose from that come with several bonuses, PS4 players get a few extra things, including first access to a beta.
Pre-ordering the standard edition gives you a Marvel Legacy Nameplate, the Marvel Legacy Outfit Pack, featuring costumes from each of the heroes' early days, and online beta access. The Deluxe Edition gives you 72-hour early access to the full game, the Obsidian Nameplate Pack, and the Obsidian Outfit Pack for the heroes. The physical version of the Deluxe Edition also includes a one-month subscription to Marvel Unlimited. The Earth's Mightiest Edition includes all the perks of the other editions, plus a steelbook case, a 12-inch statue of Captain America, a Hulk bobblehead, a Mjölnir keychain, Black Widow's belt buckle, Iron Man's prototype armor blueprint, Kamala Khan's Avenger pin, and a group photo of the team.
Those who pre-order the Exclusive Digital Edition on PS4 can play the beta before Xbox One players, and receive an Avengers-themed dynamic theme for their system. PS4 players also get a special Ms. Marvel emote. You also get 1,000 credits to spend on customization items, as well as a Ms. Marvel nameplate. Avengers launches on PS4 and Xbox One on September 4.

Square Enix and Marvel have revealed that they will reveal the gameplay demo for Marvels Avengers online after Gamescom.
The news comes from the Marvel Games panel at San Diego Comic-Con, as well as made official by a tweet from the game's official account.
According to attendees, the gameplay demo is similar to the E3 floor showing, but more polished and expanded. We'll know for sure a week after Gamescom, which runs from August 20 - 24. Marvel's Avengers releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One,PC and Stadia on May 15.

Marvel Games has announced a game panel during San Diego Comic Con on July 18, hosted by Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller. The panel summary says that it will show new content for Avengers, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Iron Man VR, and promises surprises as well. Miller will be joined by special guests, which presumably means some developers from those games, and Bill Rosemann, who is vice president and creative director at Marvel Games.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 releases the next day on Switch, so we'll likely get more info on character reveals or news on DLC characters. Iron Man VR is scheduled for PlayStation VR later this year and Marvel's Avengers will release on May 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC.
During Square Enix’s E3 presentation,we got our first real glimpse at what Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have been working on with Marvel’s Avengers.
Marvel Avengers is an online action/adventure game with a focus on cinematic storytelling, built to be played by up to four players online at the same time. While the main characters at launch (Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Iron Man) should be familiar to anyone who has gone to the movies over the last decade, that this is Crystal Dynamics take on the characters and their world.
The story on Avengers Day, as the team is celebrating the opening of the west coast headquarters in San Francisco from onboard their custom helicarrier, (this is likely to play a bigger part of the story). In what appears to be a disastrous heist gone wrong, the helicarrier goes down, large destroying the city, and Captain America is thought to be dead (I don’t think he’s really dead). The story cuts to 5 years later after the now-infamous "A-Day" and disbanding of the Avengers, when the team must reassemble to face a new threat. The game also has an all stay cast of voice actors, see might even say the Avengers of voice acting.

We did get one extra character tease near the end of the presentation, with the appearance of Hank Pym (Antman). Crystal Dynamics was also quick to point out that Avengers is planned as a game that will grow over time with new regions and characters, all of which will come free to those who have the game. In addition, the team promised no loot boxes or pay-to-win purchases connected to the project. Also PS4 are getting exclusive content including beta access. Avengers is set to release on May 15, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.

Last year, Fortnite teamed up with Marvel to help promote Avengers : Infinite War with a mode where players could play as Thanos. Now, it looks a new event is on the horizon. A new tease on the Fortnite Twitter account reads "Whatever it takes," followed by the date for Avengers: Endgame's theatrical release, and the hashtag "#FortniteXAvengers". The tweet really doesn't give us a whole lot of information. The shield in the picture is obviously Captain America's, so will we be welding the weapons of the Avengers this time around ? Thoughts ?
If you have wanted to grab the Infinity Gauntlet for yourself and be the mad titan Thanos, you only have until tomorrow, Epic has announced. The Infinity War/Fortnite mashup was always advertised as a limited time event, but given the abrupt nature of it, many are surprised how much fun the match up was.

Starting on May 8, Thanos from Avengers: Infinity War is coming to Fortnite in a limited-time crossover event where you could wield the Infinity Gauntlet. The event plays out like normal, the difference being the Infinity Gauntlet with all the Infinity Stones. Find it in the map and it’s yours. The crossover is available for free across all platforms, but there are no further details such as when it ends at this time. According to Entertainment Weekly, the whole endeavor came about due to the movie's directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, being fans of the game.
"Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we'd take breaks to on and get in a few games," said Joe Russo. "And then we started thinking, 'How cool would it be to have some kind of Avengers-Fortnite mashup."
Insomniac has announced that Spider-Man's Avengers: Infinity War suit will be available to use in the game, and teased that the homemade suit will also be usable. The Iron Spider suit will be included for those who pre-order the game. The "Homemade" suit is not specifically called out as being a pre-order. It will most likely just be one of the game's included suits. Spider-Man is coming to PlayStation 4 on September 7.
To coincide with the release of Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel and Warner Bros. have announced that a new DLC for Marvel Super Heroes 2 is on the way that includes characters and a level inspired by the film. The DLC will let you play as Thanos, according to Warner Bros:
This action-packed level offers players the chance to control Thanos, one of the most dangerous Super Villains in the Marvel Universe, and his ruthless army.
No word on when the DLC actually comes out but considering the movie's out on April 27, so it’s safe to assume it’ll release around then.
It looks like Crystal Dynamics' upcoming Avengers game will feature online play and will resemble a 3rd person cover based action adventure game. Thanks to NeoGAF user kirolak, we have a couple of job postings from Square-Enix subsidiary Crystal Dynamics for the upcoming game, which is currently called "The Avengers Project". One posting asks for applicants for a "Lead Level Designer" position, focusing on level development. The posting specifically refers to "fun and unique online experiences" and also asks for an understanding of "the social implications of shared gameplay", as well as referencing "various game modes and campaigns". The other posting on the other hand is asking for an experienced Combat Designer, who will work with the rest of the team to "plan, prototype and build combat systems that directly apply to a 3rd person cover based action adventure game." "The Avengers Project" is expected to release sometime in 2018.
