Pokemon Masters Surpasses 10 million Downloads In Just 4 days

DeNA Co., Ltd., in partnership with The Pokémon Company, today announced that the popular mobile game Pokémon Masters has surpassed 10 million downloads worldwide across Android and iOS devices since launching on August 29, 2019.

Pokémon Masters is a strategy and battling game where players form teams of sync pairs (the combination of a Trainer and their partner Pokémon) to engage in 3-on-3 real-time battles against AI opponents. The game takes place in an all-new location, the island of Pasio, where Trainers and their partner Pokémon from every known Pokémon region will gather to compete.

Pokémon Masters is available worldwide as a free-to-start game with in-app purchases on compatible Android and iOS devices. The game is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Traditional Chinese. Players can download the game to their compatible mobile device using the links below.

Nintendo Open To Work With Other Mobile Devs

According to Nintendo president Tatsumi, the company would be willing to work with other mobile developers, like DeNA, in the future. Nintendo has a 10% stake in DeNA whilst DeNA purchased 1.24% of Nintendo back in 2015. Kimishima also outlined that we can expect 2-3 mobile games a year going forward.

Nintendo Exploring The Idea Of Smartphone Peripherals And More Apps

Shinya Takahashi (Nintendo‘s general manager of entertainment planning and development), mentioned that the company is exploring the mobile industry in multiple ways, including potential peripherals. Takahashi said that “physical controllers for smart device applications are available in the market and it is possible that we may also develop something new by ourselves. I believe Nintendo’s way of thinking is to look at whether action games are really not impossible (without a physical controller for smart device applications) to create and how we can make it happen to create such a game”. Takahashi also said that Nintendo was also interested in straying from the norm in mobile gaming and is committed to exploring different types of apps like Miitomo. President Tatsumi Kimishima agreed, adding that Japanese smart phone game platform provider DeNA and Nintendo have plans to launch “various projects in the future.”

Nintendo’s Second Mobile Game Will Feature Their Best Know Character

According to The Wall Street Journal, Nintendo’s next mobile game after the unreleased Miitomo will feature one of Nintendo best known characters. There’s no hinting at who it could be, so we’ll have to play that waiting game for now. Who do you think it could be ? I’d say Mario just to play it safe, but it would be cool if it was someone else like Link or Samus. Nintendo’s first mobile game Miitomo is due to be released this March on iOS and Android. 

Nintendo’s First 5 Smartphone Apps Will Be Free to Play

The Wall Street Journal reports that DeNA has clarified some information on the first 5 Nintendo partnership games. The first 5 titles,will all be free to play. All 5 titles are due by March 2017. Nintendo previously announced that its first smartphone app Miitomo. The app appears to be a chat app with elements of Nintendo’s Tomodachi Life series using Nintendo’s Mii creation system. Anyone else bummed it’s not a actual game? What do you think of Miitomo ? I’d like to wait until the game comes out say anything about it, but its looks someone interesting from what we’ve seen of it. 

Nintendo’s First Mobile Game Is Titled Miimoto

The new smartphone game will be “Miitomo”. It will be free to play, with attractive add-ons that people can pay for, Mr. Kimishima says. Other smartphone games will be pay to download, he says. Looks like Miis go ahead and communicate with other Miis without your knowledge. This will help people who are hesitant to talk about themselves to communicate with others, and reveal a side of your friends you never knew, Mr. Kimishima says. In the new “Miitomo” game, users will design their own avatars, or “Miis,” to communicate with other users. Executive Shinya Takahashi says that Nintendo will find ways to encourage people who are hesitant to talk to share things about themselves. Miitomo is the first of 5 smartphone apps that Nintendo plans to release by March 2017. Miimoto will release by March 2016.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Nintendo will be announcing new details about its upcoming mobile game lineup. Could Nintendo Announce A Mobile Game At The Next iPhone Event ?

 DeNA and Nintendo have been working on a title for mobile and tablets and it looks like they are getting ready to reveal the first title. The game should launch by the end of the year if all goes well and there will clearly be a lot of interest in the title. There should be 5 mobile games released by 2017. I wonder if Nintendo would announce they game at Apples rumored iPhone event on September 9. It would be the perfect platform with the world looking towards Apple on that day. What do you think ?
