Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 3 Releasing Next Week

Eight more courses are bringing festive fun to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass DLC* for the Nintendo Switch system on Dec. 7! With the addition of Wave 3 courses, 24 of the 48 courses in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass will be available to play.

The Wave 3 courses include the frolicking fields of DS Peach Gardens and the frosty merriment of Merry Mountain, which features seasonal sights and sounds to take in while cruising around the track’s frigid peaks and towering pines. Plus, enjoy the colorful views of London Loop from the Mario Kart Tour mobile game and navigate galactic turns in the 3DS Rainbow Road course, just to name a few. Wave 3 features the Rock Cup and the Moon Cup, with classic courses appearing from the Mario Kart series across the Wii, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS and Mario Kart Tour games. Each course can be played locally or online. Cups are divided as follows:

  • Rock Cup
    • Tour London Loop – Gobsmack your rivals as you drift around familiar landmarks and into first place in this England-inspired course originating from the mobile game Mario Kart Tour.
    • GBA Boo Lake – Get your feet wet on this spooky, Boo filled track set on a haunted lake in this course that originated in Mario Kart: Super Circuit!
    • 3DS Rock Rock Mountain – Careful, sharp turns and bouncing boulders abound on this high-altitude course. Here’s a mountaineering tip: Ramp over a warp pipe to put some wind in your sails!
    • Wii Maple Treeway – Leap through the fall foliage and race across massive trees on this course from Mario Kart Wii – just don’t disturb the Wigglers enjoying an autumnal stroll!
  • Moon Cup
    • Tour Berlin Byways – Watch out for falling Whomps and Thwomps as you make your way around the stunning sights in this course that originated in Mario Kart Tour.
    • DS Peach Gardens – Chirping birds, bopping Chain Chomps and fields of flowers flourish on this course set in the vast gardens of Peach’s castle from Mario Kart DS! Can you spot all the familiar topiaries?
    • Merry Mountain – Hit the halfpipe and bank up the snowy hills on this charmingly festive course from Mario Kart Tour that features massive candy canes and wrapped gifts galore. And … is that a flying sleigh train?
    • 3DS Rainbow Road – Look up in the sky – it’s … Mario! Rainbow Road winds and twists around multiple planetoids on this celestial course that originated in Mario Kart 7 on Nintendo 3DS.

With the upcoming launch of Wave 3, which will join Wave 1 and Wave 2, half of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass courses will be playable, with another 24 still to come next year! The roster of currently raceable courses already includes Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, DS Waluigi Pinball, Wii Mushroom Gorge and Sky-High Sundae, as well as Ninja Hideaway, New York Minute and Tokyo Blur from Mario Kart Tour, and more. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass includes six separate waves, with eight courses each, which will all be released by the end of 2023.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass Wave 2 coming August 4th

Rev up your engines, because eight more courses are making their way to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass DLC for the Nintendo Switch system on August 4. Wave 2 features the delightfully sweet Sky-High Sundae course, which makes its first appearance in the Mario Kart series! Plus, you can marvel at the neon lights of New York Minute from the Mario Kart Tour mobile game and careen around a giant pinball machine in the DS Waluigi Pinball course, just to name a few. Wave 2 includes the Turnip Cup and the Propeller Cup, with fast and familiar courses appearing from the Mario Kart series across the Super NES, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, Wii and Mario Kart Tour games. Each course can be played locally or online. Cups are divided as follows:

  • Turnip Cup
    • Tour New York Minute – Zip past towering skyscrapers and enjoy a scenic drive through the park in this Big Apple-inspired course originating from the mobile game Mario Kart Tour.
    • SNES Mario Circuit 3 – Drift your way around tight corners and avoid the Warp Pipes in this classic course that originated in Super Mario Kart on Super NES.
    • N64 Kalimari Desert – This desert race features frequent run-ins with an old-fashioned steam locomotive that crosses the course – be careful not to cause any delays!
    • DS Waluigi Pinball – Launch, bump and weave across this course themed after a giant pinball table, complete with colorful lights and sounds. Just try not to tilt!

  • Propeller Cup
    • Tour Sydney Sprint – Soak up the sunshine as you soar above the bay and cruise around the sights in this course that originated in Mario Kart Tour.
    • GBA Snow Land – Try not to slip and slide on this wintry course from Mario Kart: Super Circuit. Just remember: Cooler heads will prevail.
    • Wii Mushroom Gorge – This course features an underground cavern, deep chasms and giant mushrooms to spring off of – make sure you land safely!
    • Sky-High Sundae – The competition may heat up, but that doesn’t mean you can’t chill out in this sweet race, which is filled with larger-than-life desserts at nearly every turn. Prove you’re number one under the sun(dae) in this debut course!

Wave 2 will join Wave 1, which is already available and features eight courses, including Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, 3DS Toad Circuit, DS Shroom Ridge and GBA Sky Garden, as well as Ninja Hideaway, Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur from Mario Kart Tour. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass includes six separate waves, with eight courses each, which will all be released by the end of 2023.

Dataminers Uncover Some DLC Tracks Coming Soon To Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The first wave of additional courses is now available in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of the Booster Course Pass. Dataminers have been scouring the game files since the 2.0.0 update went online, and they have identified some of the additional courses that will be released in later waves. Nintendo has not verified the existence of these tracks, but they appear to be on the way. Here are some of the tracks that have been uncovered so far.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 1 Releases Tomorrow, March 18th

Take a nostalgic ride through Mario Kart history with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, and race for the finish line across a total of 48 remastered courses. In this paid DLC, eight courses will be released at a time over six waves by the end of 2023. All can be played locally or online, with the first wave launching March 18th.

The first wave includes the Golden Dash Cup and the Lucky Cat Cup, where players will be able to zoom up escalators and through storefronts in Wii Coconut Mall, dodge falling boulders in N64 Choco Mountain, rush by the roaring crowds in 3DS Toad Circuit, careen over the clouds in GBA Sky Garden, and traverse through tight traffic in DS Shroom Ridge. And for the first time, you’ll even be able to choose your own path in Tokyo Blur, Paris Promenade and Ninja Hideaway from Mario Kart Tour.

Supercharge Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass and experience more ramps, loops, turns and jumps as each of the six waves become available. Players can enjoy all six waves of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass at no additional cost with a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

48 Remastered Tracks Are Coming To Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Nintendo will be extending the life of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by introducing more paid DLC. By the end of 2023, 48 remastered tracks from classic Mario Kart titles will be published in six waves, with the first pack of eight arriving on March 18, 2022. The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass will cost $24.99, but it will be included free of charge for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.

Here Are The Top 10 Best Selling Nintendo Switch Games (As Of February 2021)

Nintendo has revised the list of the best-selling Nintendo Switch
games (so far). To of the chart is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which has sold a staggering 33.41 million units worldwide. The Wii U port is just ahead of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which has shifted 31.18 million units. Here’s the top ten best-selling Switch games as of February 1st 2021:

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch Bundle Is Back For Black Friday

Best Buy has revealed that the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Nintendo Switch bundle is back for the third year in a row and it now
includes an additional three month subscription to 
Nintendo Switch Online all for $299.99. Like previous year’s this bundle should be available at multiple retailers across North America. Black Friday 2020 takes place on Friday, November 27th.

Nintendo has revealed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling Nintendo Switch game. The game has sold 15.02 million units globally and brings total Mario Kart 8 sales to 23 million (Nintendo Switch & Wii U).

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Has Been Updated To Version 1.7.1


Nintendo has released a new update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This update didn’t add anything new. In fact, the only change that Nintendo made is a bug fix. As always, Nintendo released some official patch notes, check em out down below.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game to become unresponsive to any input except for the HOME Button.
    • You will need to download this update to play with others online.
    • After you download the latest update data, you will no longer be able to play over local wireless or LAN with others until they download the update as well.

Breath Of The Wild Content Now In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Via Update


Nintendo has announced a new update to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which adds some Zelda content from Link's latest adventure to his Mario Kart races. Here are the patch notes, for version 1.6.0:
  • New character added: Link (Champion's Tunic)
  • New vehicle added: Master Cycle Zero
  • New tires added: Ancient Tires
  • New glider added: Paraglider

The content here comes from Breath of the Wild. Link's blue Champion Outfit is as close to a canon outfit as you can get in a game that lets you change clothes on the fly. The Master Cycle, introduced in the Champion of the Ballads DLC, is Link's motorcycle, making a natural fit for the Mario Kart series.

Nintendo released its earnings report and they were impressive with sales increasing 175.5 % year-on-year. Also Nintendo’s operating profit increased 494.6 %. What’s important is to look at software sales for the immensely popular  Nintendo Switch system.
