Resident Evil Showcase Set For October And RE4 Remake Coming To PS4

Capcom has announced that a Resident Evil-focused presentation will take place in October, mainly to promote Resident Evil Village's DLC, The Winters' Expansion, which will be released next month, and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Speaking about the Resident Evil 4 Remake, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi stated during the Tokyo Game Show that it will also be released on PlayStation 4.

When Resident Evil 4 Remake was announced at the PlayStation State of Play event in June, Capcom stated that it will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with no mention of previous-generation systems such. Capcom has now stated that the game will be released on PS4 on March 24, 2023. No word on Xbox One at this time. The Winters' Expansion and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which includes the DLC and the base game, will be available on October 28.

Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition Adds New Story Content And Third-Person Mode

Capcom has confirmed that a Gold Edition with a number of major additions is on the way. The first is Shadows of Rose, a new narrative extension that puts Rose in charge of a mind-bending quest of discovery.

Rose, Ethan's daughter, is all grown up in this narrative. You can tell she's battling with her abilities from the start of the game. To try to control them, she enters the Megamycete's consciousness, and the madness starts. Time and space are distorted, and she sees someone who looks exactly like her. The entire game is played in the third person.

Capcom is incorporating that new viewpoint into the main game, allowing players to watch Ethan and play the game in a manner similar to Resident Evil 4's over-the-shoulder shooting.

Finally, the Mercenaries mode is expanding with new objectives and playable characters such as Chris Redfield, Alcina Dimitrescu, and Karl Heisenberg. Lady Dimitrescu towers over nine feet in height.

If you've previously completed Resident Evil Village, you won't need to purchase the Gold Edition and will instead need to purchase the new Winter's Expansion, which includes all three expansions. Capcom intends to make this update available on October 28 for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Coming In March 2023 And Resident Evil Village Coming To PSVR 2

Capcom's long-rumored, much-anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4 is now a reality, and it'll be available on March 24th, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam.

The game will be a remake of the beloved 2005 title, which starred Leon S. Kennedy and the president's daughter, Ashley Graham.

"We aim to make the game feel familiar to fans of the series, while also providing a fresh feeling to it," a Capcom producer said on the PlayStation Blog. "This is being done by reimagining the storyline of the game while keeping the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls to a modern standard."

Capcom also promised Resident Evil 4 content designed for PlayStation VR 2, Sony's next console VR device. In addition to the old-school remakes, Capcom is working on a PSVR2 version of Resident Evil: Village, the newest Resident Evil game.

Resident Evil 2, 3, And 7 Coming To PlayStation 5 And Xbox Series X/S This Year

Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, along with Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, are coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S this year, according to Capcom.

Because of the switch to more powerful hardware, these games will have additional features including ray tracing, 3D audio, and "high frame rate," according to a press release. Capcom doesn't clarify what it implies, but it's safe to believe the games will run at least at 60 frames per second, which is the current-gen standard. Dual Sense haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support are also included in the PS5 versions.

Best of all, you'll get a free upgrade to the new versions if you already own these titles on last-gen systems. The PC versions will also receive a free upgrade patch. These re-releases have no set release date, however they should arrive in 2022.

Leon, Jill And Nemesis From Resident Evil Are Coming To Day by Daylight

Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine will join the lineup of survivors in Dead by Daylight. There will also be a new killer as well in the form of Nemesis. Nemesis can employ a tentacle for a ranged attack. If he hits a survivor with it, they become infected with the T-Virus. The more Nemesis infects the survivors, the stronger he gets as the reach of his tentacle increases. Infected survivors also cough and it's easier for Nemesis to find them. Survivors can counter the T-Virus with vaccines that are scattered across the maps.

Nemesis will also be able to deploy zombies to attack the survivors. They're the first AI-powered enemies to join Dead by Daylight and they'll offer players a new challenge. The zombies can infect survivors with the T-Virus as well.

Jill and Leo bring new abilities to the game. Jill can place landmines on generators that explode when the killer tries to sabotage them. Leon, meanwhile, can spawn flashbangs on the map, which can be use to distract or temporarily blind the killer. Along with Nemesis, Jill and Leon, a fresh map is on the way. It's based on the Raccoon City Police Department from the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes.

The Resident Evil chapter DLC pack will be available on June 15th for $12. You can also try out the chapter on the current Player Test Build.
