ICYMI: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Now Releasing In April

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been delayed by Respawn Entertainment, but hopefully the wait won't be too long. The game will now debut on April 28 rather than March 17, as originally planned.

According to a tweet (which you can see below) from Respawn, the game's content is finished, and the company is now only focused on addressing problems, guaranteeing stability, and further perfecting the user experience. Since the team is so dedicated, it will take an additional six weeks to ensure that Survivor runs as smoothly as butter. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Apex Legends Cross-Progression Coming In 2022

Those of you hoping for cross-progression in Apex Legends will have to wait a bit longer says development studio, Respawn Entertainment. While the game supports cross-play with other systems, cross-progression is the next natural step for the game. The news comes from Respawn’s director of comms ‘rkrigney’ who recently participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread. Here’s what was said:

“Cross-progression is gnarly as hell in terms of being a problem to solve,” they explain. “It’s not only that you have to solve the technical challenge of merging existing accounts, but there are also legal and contractual issues to navigate with purchasing on other platforms. Different regions have different laws. It’s a mess.”

“Rkrigney also confirms that the team is “working on it, and we’re committed to delivering it” – although the rough release date isn’t until “next year.”

You’ll Soon Be Able To Play Apex Legends On The Go

During EA’s quarterly earnings call, the company said it would release a version of Apex Legends (Titanfall-based battle royale title) for mobile devices. No specific date was given. It’ll be interesting to see how the game plays on mobile. If it’s anything like how Fortnite plays, it will be a hard pass from me. Thought ?

EA Confirms Respawn's Star Wars Game To Release By March 2020

During EA’s Q3 2018 earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson and CFO Blake Jorgensen discussed the future of the company's Star Wars games. Specifically in regard to Respawn's already announced Star Wars game, Jorgensen said, while EA has "not announced our products for fiscal (year 2020) yet," Respawn's title "most likely will drop in Fiscal 20 versus another [Star Wars] Battlefront." Fiscal Year 2020 would not happen until April 1, 2019, with an end on March 31, 2020. Titanfall 2 Getting New Map In Game Mode Soon

Respawn has announced that the Live Fire mode in Titanfall 2 will be available in February. It’s apparently inspired by playing speedball in paintball, according to the mode's designer Griffin Dean. In the 6 v 6 mode, players have 60 seconds to grab a neutral flag. Whoever has the flag when the timer runs out wins, regardless of how many lives have been lost up to that point. The mode will be available, for free, in February. Also in March, the map Colony will be available for free.

"We’ve learned an incredible amount in the beta test of Titanfall: Frontline, but in the end felt the experience wasn't ready to deliver the intense action-packed gameplay synonymous with Titanfall. While it’s never easy to cancel a game, we’re excited to take some of the concepts we saw resonate with players and build off of them in future Titanfall mobile games."

Titanfall 2 Getting A New Titan, Legion

Titanfall 2 developer Respawn Enterainment have released a teaser trailer for a new Titan, Legion. Legion's main weapon is the minigun-like Predator Cannon, which utilizes two different modes: long-range and auto-lock. The long-range option seems to work like a regular gun; just aim the cannon at your enemies and pull the trigger. Auto-lock, on the other hand, seems like a special ability that allows players to hit enemies by only aiming in their general direction. The new Titan can also utilize its Gun Shield to defend itself. The shield can be active at the same time you're shooting enemies, but it only seems to protect its front. Titanfall 2 releases on October 28 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

In a post on EA's official site, executive vice president of EA Studios, Patrick Soderlund, confirmed that the game will be "an all-new 3rd person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe" and that Respawn's project joins Star Wars titles in development at EA studios including Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, and Motive. The fact that Stig Asmussen is the projects lead has me very excited and I can’t wait to see what he and his team create in the Star Wars universe.
