Toys R Us Getting More SNES Classics On October 27th

If you’ve yet to get your hands on a SNES Clasic then you will be pleased to know that Toys R Us are getting another shipment in soon. The company has told Polygon that they will have SNES Mini consoles available on October 27th. The retailer will also have more Nintendo Switch units in stock as Super Mario Odyssey launches on the same day.

The representative also confirmed that there will be a limited supply of SNES Classic systems, and encouraged people to prepare for early morning lineups to secure the hardware.

GameStop also says they will have more stock of the SNES Mini console but it will be within the next two weeks.

Nintendo Increases Inventory Of SNES Classic, NES Classic Returning In 2018

Due to incredible demand for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo plans to ship the retro-inspired product into 2018. Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year.

In addition, more units of Super NES Classic Edition will ship on its Sept. 29 launch day in the U.S. than were shipped of NES Classic Edition all last year, with subsequent shipments arriving in stores regularly. Fans have shown their unbridled enthusiasm for these Classic Edition systems, so Nintendo is working to put many more of them on store shelves.

The Super NES Classic Edition system features 21 legendary Super NES games such as Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. Launching on Sept. 29 at a suggested retail price of only $79.99, Super NES Classic Edition plugs directly into the TV using the provided HDMI cable, and comes with two wired controllers. Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Editionsystem with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.

Reggie Says Don’t Pay Scalpers For SNES Classic, There Will Be Enough Stock

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told the Financial Times that consumers shouldn’t worry about being able to get hold of a SNES Classic. Reggie says that supply won’t be an issue when the lucrative retro system launches later this month. He said Nintendo has “dramatically increased” production for SNES Classic stock.

“I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn’t [have to] pay more than $79.99.

Nintendo Releases A SNES Classic Feature Trailer

There’s a huge amount of hype surrounding the release of the SNES Classic. To keep the hype train rolling, Nintendo have released a feature trailers showing off what the console can do. One feature is Rewind. This feature lets players rewind their gameplay to retry a tricky section, pick up missed items or simply run through an area again to see if anything was missed. In addition, you can also change the frame on the screen that’s wrapped around the game you’re playing. Check out the feature trailers below.

SNES Classic Pre-Orders Starting Later This Month For North America

Nintendo has confirmed that SNES Mini pre-orders will go live in North America later this month. The company also promises enough stock to satisfy demand, unlike that of the NES Mini. So keep a close eye on your favorite retailer. Good luck!

WalMart Cancelling All SNES Classic Edition Preorders

Walmart has been emailing customers to inform them their preorders have been cancelled for the Super NES Classic Edition, after a listing for preorders went live over the weekend. In an email sent out to those who preordered, a representative for Walmart explained that "due to a technical glitch," the SNES Classic was made available on Friday, July 21 and the orders must now be cancelled.

The full email to customers reads:

Thank you for your interest in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Classic Edition. As you are aware, this is a highly sought after console that will launch later this fall.

Unfortunately, due to a technical glitch, the Super Nintendo Classic Edition was mistakenly made available last Friday evening ahead of the official release date. We, regrettably, will have to cancel this item on your order. We know that this is incredibly disappointing to you, and we’re truly sorry for this mistake.

In regards to the cancellation of this item, if you paid by credit card, your card has not been charged. Any authorization holds placed on your account will automatically expire in accordance with the card issuer's policy. If you paid through PayPal or with a gift card, your payment will be refunded when the order is cancelled.

The official launch date for this item is 9/29, please check the product page on Walmart.com prior to that date for any updates.

eBay Countering Scalpers By Removing SNES Mini Listings

While Amazon UK have run out of SNES Mini consoles, eBay has plenty of systems and being sold at a ridiculous high price. Just like the NES Mini, the SNES Mini is currently the target of scalpers. When asked by Eurogamer, eBay has claimed that they’re trying to tackle the problem. According to a spokesperson, the auctioning website removes listings of any item that can’t be delivered within the next 30 days. As the SNES Mini doesn’t release until September, they are slowly removing any being offered. However, this is obviously only a short term solution. Thoughts ?

SNES Classic Pre-Orders Won’t Go Live In US Until FCC Approval

As we already know, this week the SNES Classic Mini pre-orders went live for Europe, with console pre-orders closing in multiple stores and online within a matter of hours. However, it looks like the US will have to wait a little longer for theirs.

There hasn’t been any pre-orders up in the US as of yet due to the missing FCC approval, which is required for every electronic device in the United States in order to be sold. The FCC approval certifies that the device’s electromagnetic interference is under limits approved by the Federal Communications Commission.

As it looks like the SNES Classic Mini hasn’t gotten past this stage yet, and taking into consideration that the process can take weeks rather than days, it looks like pre orders way not go live until the end of July. Thoughts ? We’ll let you know when the SNES Classic is available for pre-order.

Nintendo announced the Super NES Classic, and as expected Japan will have their own version in the form of the Super Famicom Mini. The system launches in Japan on October 5th and contains many of the same games that western consumers will find pre-installed on their console’s on September 29th.
