Bethesda Has Some Fun With Rage 2 Leak On Twitter

If you were hoping for some surprises at E3 from Bethesda, then Was-Mart may have ruined that for you. The company however, is taking it pretty well. With Rage 2 possibly on the horizon, the official Rage Twitter account (which has been dormant since 2011) decided to have some fun with Wal-Mart's supposed leak. In a tweet with various pictures, the account poked holes in the barebones placeholder listing by pointing out all the things that are wrong with it an extremely pedantic fashion. Bethesda's E3 showcase takes place on Sunday June 10 at 6:30 PM PT.

Rage 2, Just Cause 4, Gears Of War 5 & More Appear For Pre-Order

A bunch of new, announced and unannounced titles have recently appeared on Walmart.com offering hints at upcoming reveals at E3 2018. When retailers put SKUs up for games we can assume it will be coming soon, so it is fair to say that these listings should be looked at with skepticism. You can find them here.
  • Tom Clancy's The Division 2
  • Splinter Cell
  • Insurgency: Sandstorm
  • The Last of Us 2
  • Just Cause 4
  • Destiny Comet
  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake
  • Metroid Prime
  • Beyond Good and Evil 2
  • Rage 2
  • Assassin's Creed
  • NBA 2K19
  • WWE 2K19
  • Dragon Quest 2
  • Super Smash Bros.
  • Borderlands 3
  • Lego DC Villains
  • Dreams
  • Forza Horizon 5
  • Gears of War 5

It's possible that Walmart may be posting these listings just to have pre-order SKUs ready without any inside knowledge, but there are enough confirmed games alongside the surprises to add some credibility to the listings.

WalMart Cancelling All SNES Classic Edition Preorders

Walmart has been emailing customers to inform them their preorders have been cancelled for the Super NES Classic Edition, after a listing for preorders went live over the weekend. In an email sent out to those who preordered, a representative for Walmart explained that "due to a technical glitch," the SNES Classic was made available on Friday, July 21 and the orders must now be cancelled.

The full email to customers reads:
Thank you for your interest in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Classic Edition. As you are aware, this is a highly sought after console that will launch later this fall.
Unfortunately, due to a technical glitch, the Super Nintendo Classic Edition was mistakenly made available last Friday evening ahead of the official release date. We, regrettably, will have to cancel this item on your order. We know that this is incredibly disappointing to you, and we’re truly sorry for this mistake.
In regards to the cancellation of this item, if you paid by credit card, your card has not been charged. Any authorization holds placed on your account will automatically expire in accordance with the card issuer's policy. If you paid through PayPal or with a gift card, your payment will be refunded when the order is cancelled.
The official launch date for this item is 9/29, please check the product page on Walmart.com prior to that date for any updates.
I do hope you’ll give us another chance to earn back your business.

So the hunt continues. Hopefully when pre orders actually go up you’ll be about to get one. Good luck everyone!

Walmart Announces Walmart Pay For iOS

Walmart today introduced its own mobile payments service called "Walmart Pay" built into its Walmart app on iOS and Android (Walmart Pay for Android is coming soon). The payments service will roll out in select Walmart stores in the U.S. this month, followed by a nationwide launch within the first half of 2016. Walmart Pay is QR code-based and will involve opening the Walmart app, selecting Walmart Pay, activating the camera, scanning the code displayed at the register. An electronic receipt will automatically be sent to the Walmart app. Walmart is among a handful of retailers that have refused to support Apple Pay since its U.S. launch in October 2014. Walmart's future plans to support Apple Pay or other payment service remain undisclosed, but the company's senior vice president of services Daniel Eckert said Walmart Pay allows "for integration of other mobile wallets in the future." Is Walmart just being stubborn for not allowing customers to use Apple Pay, or is there more to the story ? What do you think ?

Walmart To Compete With Amazons Prime Day

Soon Amazon will have a new sale period called Prime Day that the online retailer claim’s would offer more deals than Black Friday. The one catch, however, is that promo was only for subscribers to Amazon's Prime service. Now, Walmart has responded with its own deals while taking shots at Amazon. ”We've heard some retailers are charging $100 to get access to a sale," reads a statement from Walmart.com CEO Fernando Madeira. "But the idea of asking customers to pay extra in order to save money just doesn't add up for us." "We're standing up for our customers and everyone else who sees no rhyme or reason for paying a premium to save." Walmart will roll out special deals "with no hidden costs or admission fees" unlike Amazon's Prime Day, which will be held for one day only on July 15 to mark the retailer's 20th anniversary, Walmart's sale period will run for multiple days. "Our customers will see thousands of great deals on Rollback beginning this week along with some special atomic deals.” ”In addition, we're rolling back our free shipping minimum order to $35 from $50." Walmart did not say what items will be discounted, but I wouldn’t be surprised if video games, consoles, computers and phones will be discounted. What do you think ?

Gold Mario Amiibo Release Date Hasn’t Changed

Some reports surfaced the other day suggesting that the gold Mario Amiibo, which is exclusive to Walmart, had been delayed from March to April. People who preordered the figure received a message from the retailer notifying them of the pushback. However, that was just a mistake. Walmart.com pre-order customers may have seen an incorrect availability date in their account, and we're in the process of correcting that order information to assure fans that there are no delays. The Gold Edition Mario Amiibo will be released on March 20 alongside new Wii U game Mario Party 10. It will be sold exclusively in the United States, and you'll be able to buy it for $13.

Guy Buys PS4, Gets Bags Of Rock Instead

A Walmart shopper recently bought a PlayStation 4 only to discover it was filled with rocks instead of a new console. A Walmart employee told the shopper that the console was previously returned, so he opened the Grand Theft Auto V bundle to make sure everything was there before giving it as a gift. Walmart wouldn't take the console back because it had no proof of how it came in, but the store manager agreed to the return and gave the shopper his money back.
