Microsoft Announces The Xbox One S All Digital Edition

Microsoft has announced the Xbox One S All-Digital, an Xbox One model that features no disc drive. It retails for a slightly lower price than a standard Xbox One S, and includes three digital games.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is designed for those who know they want to get their games digitally. In addition to a special offer for a Game Pass subscription, the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition also includes digital copies of Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, and Sea of Thieves. The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition launches on May 7 and retails for $250, $50 less than a standard Xbox One S.

Disc-less Xbox One S Rumored To Be Releasing In May

It appears that Microsoft is rumored to release a new version of their Xbox One console without a disc drive, making a digital-only console. Reports are also coming out that the digital-only Xbox One will release in May.

According to Windows Central, the console is codenamed the Xbox Maverick. The actual name, however, is reported to be the "Xbox One S All-Digital" edition. The console will be a normal Xbox One S, but all games will be digital, much like the PSP GO was back in the day. Although this idea is more common with a handheld, it’s very strange to see this with a home console. Though, given the inevitable all digital future a console like this seems like a given. 

The hope is for the console to be cheaper than a regular Xbox One S, but it is unclear how much money removing the disc drive will save both Microsoft and consumers.

Microsoft Announces Financing Plan Called Xbox All Access

Microsoft has announced a new financing plan called the Xbox All Access. Those who purchase the plan get access to the following: an Xbox One (either an S or One X), 24 months of Game Pass, and 24 months of Xbox Live. The Xbox One S plan will cost $21.99 a month for 24 months while a plan for an Xbox One X will cost $34.99.  No games are offered with the plan but the subscription to Game Pass gives you access to what Microsoft says is "100 all-you-can-play games" for as long as you have the subscription.

Microsoft Announces PUBG And Minecraft Xbox One/S Bundles

Microsoft has announced two new Xbox One console bundles, a PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Bundle and an Xbox One S Minecraft Bundle.  The $499 PUBG Xbox One X Bundle has a download code for PUBG and one-month trial passes for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass. Meanwhile, the $299 Minecraft Xbox One S Bundle has a download code for Minecraft, a code for Season One of Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure, a one-month Xbox Game Pass trial pass, and a two-week Xbox Live Gold trial pass. Both bundles are available are available now. 

Red Dead Redemption, Portal 2 And More Getting Xbox One X Enhanced Updates + A Ton Of Original Xbox One Games Getting Backward Compatibility

During the latest of episode Microsoft's Inside Xbox, it was announced that a slew of original Xbox games are making their way to Xbox One backward compatibility. This includes Destroy All Humans!, a ton of Star Wars titles, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and more.  Several 360 games are also receiving enhancements for the Xbox One X. This includes titles like Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, and more. Microsoft says that April 2018 is the biggest month for new Xbox One Backward Compatibility additions since the program launched in 2015.

Get Sea Of Thieves Free With Xbox One X Purchase For Limited Time

Microsoft has announced a promotional deal for Sea of Thieves free with an Xbox One X. From March 18 to 24, retailers will give a digital code of Sea of Thieves free with the purchase of the Xbox One X. The console will still cost $499.99. The game itself releases March 20. Another Sea of Thieves bundle will be available for Xbox One S. At $299.99, it comes with a white console, 1 terabyte of memory, white controller, digital code for the game, and a one-month membership for Xbox Gold and Game Pass.

Heres Whats Coming In The Xbox One Update This Spring

Microsoft has announced a number of updates coming to Xbox One later this spring. Xbox Insider Alpha testers can try out these features right now. Xbox One S and X will support displays with FreeSync, a TV and monitor technology that lets the monitor synchronize its refresh rate according to the game. This will result in less framerate stuttering and tearing. All Xbox Ones will also support Low Latency mode, a feature that will automatically remove post-processing effects some TVs use to make images look sharper when games are being played, reducing input latency while playing games, then restore them when you go back to watching TV or movies. The update also includes the ability to post videos and screenshots on Twitter. Players will also be able to share their controller with viewers while streaming on Mixer, Microsoft's livestreaming platform. Viewers will be able to use a either an on-screen or physical controller to play a streamer's game while watching on their PC.

PUBG Getting An Xbox One S Bundle

Microsoft has announced a PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Xbox One S bundle will be released on February 20. As detailed on Xbox Wire, the bundle will include a 1TB Xbox One S, PUBG, 14 days of Xbox Live Gold, and a one-month Xbox Game Pass trial. It is now available to preorder for $300 USD.

Microsoft has announced 4 new Xbox One S bundle options depending on where you live. Microsoft is introducing Xbox One S bundles for Minecraft, Rocket League, Halo, and a Starter Bundle. Each features a 500GB Xbox One S, a controller, and limited-time trial vouchers for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass. They sell for $279, with a release date "in the coming weeks." Not all of the bundles are available in territories around the world. All of the bundles but the Starter Bundle feature specific software (via download codes):

Microsoft Announces Assassin's Creed Origins Xbox One S Bundles

Microsoft has announced 2 new Xbox One S bundles that come with a digital copy of Assassin's Creed Origins. The bundle with a 1TB hard drive costs $349 and also includes a digital copy of Rainbow Six Seige. The 500GB version costs $279. Both are available starting October 27 and include a wireless controller, a one-month subscription for Xbox Game Pass, and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial.  

Microsoft Announces Another Minecraft Xbox One S Bundle

Microsoft has announced another Xbox One S Minecraft bundle, this time with a custom case that reflects the game. Along with the custom console and controller, this Xbox One S features a 1 TB hard drive, and also comes packaged with the Minecraft game, and a bevy of skins and textures to use within it. This Minecraft bundle is available for pre-order now, and will be released on October 3.

Next Xbox One Update Allows Transfers To Xbox One And Light Mode

Xbox Design Head Mike Ybarra announced at Gamescom that the next Xbox One update will add a number of new features. One of the features include transfers from your old Xbox One to an Xbox One X and a light mode. Below is an example of what you can transfer to a new Xbox One X. Before you get the system, you can download all the 4K content for your games so it will be ready to go on the Xbox One X and back up all your settings and preferences before you go. You can then move over everything to an external harddrive or transfer over your network. Next is the Xbox One light mode, which lightens up all your windows from the console's traditional dark interface. It reminds me of how the Xbox 360 interface used to look. Thoughts ?

EA and Microsoft are teaming up for a Madden 18 Xbox One S bundle on August 25 for $279. The console is the 500GB and it comes with the standard version of the game, a 1-month Xbox Game Pass, a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial pass, and a 20% discount on NFLshop.com.

Microsoft Announces 2 New Gears Of War 4 Xbox One S Bundles

Microsoft has unveiled 2 new Gears of War 4 Xbox One S bundles. According to Xbox Wire, the first bundle includes Gears of War 4 and a 1 TB white console. The bundle will be available worldwide October 11 for $350. The second bundle features a 500 GB "deep blue" console that will only be available in the US and Australia for $300. The bundle will be exclusive to Microsoft Stores and GameStop/EB Games when it releases on November 1.
