Bandai Namco Announces Gundam Versus


During Sony's pre-TGS press conference, Bandai Namco took the stage to reveal its latest Gundam title. As part of a celebration of the 15th anniversary of Gundam Vs., a  series of fighting games based off the Gundam series, Bandai Namco announced Gundam Versus for the PlayStation 4. A release date in unknown at this time, but one can assume it will be out in 2017 for Japan. You can watch the announcement trailer below. Hope it comes state side as I’m a huge fan of the Gundam series. Thoughts on Gundam Versus ?

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Has A New Release Date


During Sony's pre-TGS press conference, Square Enix revealed that Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 - Final Chapter Prologue will now release on January 12 in Japan and January 28 in the US for PS4. For those that don’t know, Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 - Final Chapter Prologue is a compilation that includes Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover, 0.2 Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage - and a remastered version of the Nintendo 3DS game Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Thoughts on 2.8 being delayed ?

Hideo Kojima Reveals Some Details About Death Stranding [UPDATED]

During Sony's pre-TGS press conference, Hideo Kojima took to the stage to reveal some info about the mysterious, Death Stranding. Death Stranding will be an open-world action game with online components. The open world will have a degree of freedom and focus on strong story elements. He wants story, gameplay, view all connected by a strand. Kojima also announced that an engine has been selected for the game, but he didn't say which one, and that the game will use 4K and HDR technology to give the most vivid images. Kojima will be discussing more about Death Stranding at TGS on September 18. 

UPDATE 9/18/16 - Hideo Kojima has revealed that Death Stranding will release before 2019 and that the game may feature a female protagonist. 

Nioh Gets A Release Date


During Sony's pre-TGS press conference, Koei Tecmo announced a release date for Nioh. The PS4 exclusive will release worldwide on February 9. Thoughts ? 

Final Fantasy XV Is Getting A Limited Edition PS4


During Sony's pre-TGS press conference, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata unveiled a Final Fantasy XV themed PS4.  The limited-edition console will be available exclusively from GameStop for $449. It includes a 1TB Final Fantasy XV themed PS4, a copy of Final Fantasy XV with an exclusive steelbook package, a themed Dualshock 4 controller, a Blu-ray disc of the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV movie and the Royal Rainment outfit, Masamune weapon, and Leviathan Regalia skin DLC.

Square Enix Revealing A New Action Game At TGS

Square Enix is teasing a new action game that will be announced at 1pm JST on Thursday September 15, 2016 (September 14 at 9pm PST / 2pm CET) on Square Enix's main stage at TGS. No other info was given. We’ll have to wait and see what Square Enix has in store. Thoughts ?

PlayStation VR To Be The Same Price As A New Gaming Platform


Sony's virtual reality headset, PlayStation VR, will apparently be priced as a new gaming platform, according to Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House in an interview with Bloomberg. "VR rewrites the rule book on how you can create games. You’re seeing a large amount of interest and work happening among smaller teams, because it’s possible to create something in VR that is very simple but still very magical." PlayStation VR is set to release within the first half of 2016. So are we talking $300 to $400 for PlayStation VR ? What do you think of that idea ? Note I’m just taking a guess and that is not the confirmed price point.

Persona 5 Delayed To Summer 2016

Persona 5 has been delayed to summer 2016 in Japan. Developer Atlus released a Tokyo Game Show trailer today, and in it the the new launch window was revealed. You can watch the trailer below. Persona 5 is set to come out in summer 2016 on PS4 and PS3.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force Coming Out For PS Vita This Winter


During Sonys TGS 2015 conference Bandai Namco announced that the latest Gundam game, Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force for the PlayStation Vita. The game will features 2v2 battles, an original mode that will have players pick 6 Mobile Suits to be part of your team. Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force will release for Japan in the winter for PlayStation Vita.

Sony Renames Project Morpheus And The PS4 Gets A Price Cut In Japan

At Sonys TGS 2015 conference Sony announced that Project Morpheus will now be known as PlayStation VR. Sony's virtual reality headset still doesn’t have a price point, but several virtual reality projects were shown off in a new trailer with the name announcement. This included The Playroom VR, Cyber Danganronpa, Hatsune Miku, Tekken 7, Summer Lesson, Final Fantasy and more (You can see in the image or video below). Also announces was that the PlayStation 4 will receive a price drop in Japan. The price before the drop was ¥39,980 and the new price is  ¥34,980 or $292.79 USD, which make for about a $50 price cut. What do you think about Sony’s new name for Project Morpheus ?


Sony Announces New Colored Faceplates And Controllers


At Sonys TGS 2015 conference Sony announced 9 new HDD covers and 4 new controller colors for the PS4. The 9 new faceplates will vary in color and will launch on November 6 for ¥2,500 or $21 and will only be available through Sony stores. Color variations will include red, yellow, pink, purple, gold, silver and much more. The faceplates are available for pre-order started today, except gold and silver. The 4 new controller colors include gold, silver, steel black and crystal. A limited number of the gold, silver and black will be available on November 6 and crystal will launch on December 3. Currently only the gold and silver controllers have been announced for Europe, well updated this story if we get anymore info. 









New Bloodborne Expansion Coming In November


At Sonys TGS 2015 conference Sony announced Bloodborne: The Old Hunters expansion along with a trailer. The trailer showcased some  new environments and weapons. Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is set to be released on November 24 and a new physical edition of Bloodborne that comes with The Old Hunters will come out sometime in December.




Gravity Rush Remastered And A Sequel Are Coming To PS4


During Sonys TGS 2015 conference Sony announced that a sequel to Gravity Rush is coming to PlayStation 4 in 2016.The original Gravity Daze will also be coming to PlayStation 4, releasing on December 10 in Japan,  February 9 in North America and February 10 in Europe. 


Square Enix Announces Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue


At Sonys TGS 2015 conference Square Enix has announced Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue for PlayStation 4. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 will contain a HD remaster of Dream Drop Distance, Unchained X called Back Cover and Birth by Sleep 0.2 - A Fragmentary Passage -, which is a completely new part of the story taking place after the events of the original Birth by Sleep. The first official trailer for the game will be shown on September 17. 



Capcom Announces Umbrella Corps.

At Sonys TGS 2015 conference Capcom has announced Umbrella Corps, a very ambitious shooter set in the world of Resident Evil. The debut trailer featured players taking on hordes of zombies in various ways. Umbrella Corps is coming to PS4 and PC in early 2016 for $30 and will feature quick matches in environments from different Resident Evil games.

Customize You PS Vita With System Update 3.30


At Sony’s pre TGS ( Tokyo Game Show) press conference in Japan, PlayStation Vita’s new firmware 3.30 was amongst the many things that were talked about. One of the biggest features of 3.30 is the ability to add themes to your PS Vita. Not much else is know about the update and a release date is unknown at this time.

250 Free PSP Games For PS Plus Subscribers In Japan


Sony  announced at their Pre TGS press conference that PlayStation Plus subscribers in Japan will be granted free access to some 250 PSP games for the PS Vita. This offer runs from September 17 until the end of the year.

Bloodborne Comes To Japan On February 5


The release date, announced during a Sony’s pre TGS press conference in Japan. Sony hasn’t announced a Bloodborne release date outside of Japan as of yet.

PlayStation 4 Gets Theme Support In Firmware Update 2.0

The news was revealed at Sony’s preTGS (Tokyo Game Show) press conference, that themes would finally be making it way over to the PS4. Themes let you change your background image, as well as the appearance of various icons, the PlayStation 3 has used themes for years and are what themes for PS4 are modeled after. Themes will come to PS4 in firmware update 2.0 which also will add features such as direct upload to YouTube, custom friend finding options and SharePlay. A release date for firmware update 2.0 is still unknown though it has been rumored to come out in the fall.
