If you missed out on picking up a few amiibo’s when they were first made available, your second chance is coming soon. Nintendo has stated that Marth, Ike, Meta Knight, and "a few other amiibo" will be once again hitting shelves. Of course as we know, being amiibo, there is a caveat. The figurines will be available in limited quantities "over the next few days," and Nintendo's being vague on the availability. According to the company's Facebook page, collectors need to visit their "local retail stores," or check out retailer websites for timing and availability information. This could lead to them selling out fast leaving the rest of us to resort to eBay. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that and there are plenty of amiibo to go around. Nintendo To Discontinue Certain Amiibo Figures
If you have any interest in Amiibo figures, you might want to get them while you still can. Nintendo has officially discontinued Marth, Wii Fit Trainer & Villager Amibos.” “We will aim for certain amiibo to always be available,” These will be for our most popular characters like Mario and Link. Due to shelf space constraints, other figures likely will not return to the market once they have sold through their initial shipment" a Nintendo representative said. Nintendo’s Amiibo Figures Available for Pre-Order
The first set of Nintendo’s Amiibo figures are said to interact initially with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U when it releases later this year. The Amiibos transfer information using NFC (Near field communication) similar to Disney Infinity of Skylanders characters. The Wii U has an NFC reader built into the game pad, for those who don’t know it’s the little rectangle in the left bottom corner of the game pad. Besides Super Smash Bros. the Amiibo’s are said to work with Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad : Treasure tracker,Yoshi’s Woolly World and Mario Party 10. Each figure will cost $13 USD, The first set of characters include.
